First crime, not a murder. The "found alive" is kind of a giveaway

Second, shallow grave is buried, haphazardly perhaps but buried.

Picton fed his victims to his pigs, no quote of them just laying in his backyard.

Citing links tends to work better, when you read them first.

More than a few examples if you'd care to do your own research for accuracy. It happens and who can get in the minds of killers if you're not a homicidal loon yourself? I don't understand it. I suppose like motive and opportunity, it would depend on motive for disposal or time limits, IMO. Maybe barrel dude was lazy or maybe he liked trophies. In this case I think quick and a quick getaway along with logistics, IMO. Care to opine? I didn't see a shovel but he may have hidden one in the woods to retrieve later, no?

If this turns out to be RL I will hold my hands up and say I was completely wrong.

But I would also say he is the worst criminal ever. Goes on tv in similar outfit , dumps the bodies on his property.

Draws attention to himself by going on tv and talking about the crime.

He is now in jail for 3 years as he can't lie and he got caught breaking probation on top of it so the crime he would of committed would of also meant he got caught breaking his probation as well.

Why would he do that ?

I think he is a sad lonely old man who likes a drink and unfortunately thought it was a good time to gain some attention with the media sniffing around.

:moo:

x2. I've thought that since about the first week of this case.

Agree with everything.

I think BG was gone before it was known the girls were missing, and that he left them where he killed them, where they were found. I do not hear "down the hill" as a command, more telling the girls where something of interest can be found, in order to get them off the bridge and out of sight, to commit the crimes.

I do not think it took very long, maybe not as long as half an hour. Once he had control of them, whether tied up or with weapon for example, it would not take very long to do what he intended to do (SA in my opinion).

Whether he was out there in order to kill, who knows...

I also think LE is frustrated and being honest when they say they are downhearted right now. RL is not their man, imo, not sure if they ever seriously thought he was.

All jmo, obviously...

Hell why not just take all physical traits of RL and apply them to the photo then?

Take a fuzzy picture, manipulate it, shrink or stretch it, add or subtract inches, and apply a random "error rate" -- gee, imagine how quickly we could clear the books of unsolved crimes. ;)

Agree with everything.

I do too except for the 'down the hill' part. I think it was definitely a command. I believe LE thinks so too due to the comment they made about him sounding "exasperated" (like he had told them to do it already). That's a command, IMO.

  • #546
That's exactly who I was referring to. IMO with the lighting, the head down, and the distinctive nose....I just see some similarities.

Is he related to either victim, do you know? Relatives and pretty much everyone else is off limits but if you know if he's a relative or not I think that's OK.

I thought he was taller and skinnier than BG? I'll have to look at his photo to compare, but he looked a lot younger as well, IIRC.

Thanks

I think you're on the right track. He had them move in a specific direction, either because he was taking them to a more remote location in the woods, or because he was leading them toward a vehicle, perhaps parked in the cemetery, so he could get them to a more secure location. Perhaps they tried to fight back, resulting in a premature end to his plans, and their deaths.

At first glance BG's nose reminded me of a pig's! Ever see that ridiculous show Monster Men? who go searching for 'Bigfoot' the skinny guy on the show his nose resembles that! 🐽 Dang it this PIG needs caught!!

Could the nose be fake?

Also, the clip which was released may be the best recording they have of the perp, early on in the abduction.

ITA. Being able to actually "see" through 100s of tree trunks 1/2-3/4 mile away is not that feasible unless you know what you are looking for broad daylight or not. JMO

I'd like to add to this, for some folks just tuning in.

From the SE end of the bridge to where they were found is roughly 600 feet, give or take. Folks have been nice enough to post videos of the walk "down the hill" to the creek, and posted videos of their findings. It's an easy walk, really, and the creek is shallow and fairly narrow near to the crime scene.

Just an FYI and hope this helps folks understand the crime scene flow.

IMO, it's not about who can claim bragging rights. I'll happily be mistaken in my suspicions because I would prefer it's another explanation.

Who knows. Seems like everyone has different thoughts on what they see looking at his photo. The only thing I do believe is he's a white male, 45- 50 Years old. I also think he parked by the cemetery and left quickly after killing them. I also believe he's sitting in his living room kicked back laughing he hasn't been caught. Burns my soul knowing he's still living life...FREE.

This is what makes me wonder if the bodies were moved after the search was called off that night.

How on earth did none of the search team that first evening not find them , we had the family searching from roughly 3.30 and LE called in at 5.30pm so plenty of time to search.

From the CS you can see the bridge so the reverse is true. And it's easier to see someone moving and hear them in the leaves. The perp had to talk to them, his voice would have been heard. And even if no one came on the bridge far enough across to see that area across the creek he wouldn't have known or assumed that. I think he would have felt he had to get somewhere private.

They were searching for alive people. Calling and expecting a broken ankle etc. panic set in in the following hour after 3:30, and it got dark. The volunteer searchers were clearly worried it was going to be a terrible thing. Why the police thought two good teenagers who communicate changes in plans, with phones, were only in danger from exposure has always been a mystery -- it was odd sounding on the news that nigh, perhaps a ruse to keep the perpetrator local as they searched.

Plus what would of the odds been on both of getting injured and unable to get help?!
