It hasn't helped because they have not released enough of it.

IMO, LE is withholding certain information related to Libby's and Abby's case (e.g. COD) because they have determined the manner in which the girls were murdered to be very specific and unusual. If that's the case, LE wouldn't want to release that specific information to the public because those details might help in identifying the killer(s) as only the killer(s) would have that knowledge. If they are interviewing the perp, and he mentions a specific detail about the murder that was not released to the public, LE could investigate him further. In Another current Indiana case, the COD was released a day after the murder occurred. I believe LE released the COD so quickly because doing so was more likely to identify the killer than not releasing the COD. In this case, i feel that LE knows WAY more than we believe they do. They just aren't showing all of their cards because doing so is not advantageous or necessary at this particular point in the investigation. It's super frustrating to us as members of the public, but LE has one ultimate goal which is to do whatever it takes to catch this monster. Again, this is ALL JUST MY OPINION.

I really don't think they have anything else they can release that would help the public identify him. About all I can see coming from releasing most of the things we know they have is to satisfy our morbid curiosity. I can do without that; I try very hard not to actually theorize about how they were killed, what else may have been done to them, or any of the other details that won't help me find who he is, and I don't have any desire to hear their cause of death, hear about any sexual assault, hear a recording of them being abducted and/or murder, or any pictures/video they may have of anything that happened to the girls. I just hope they find it all useful and soon. MOO

I feel that MP's comment that he hopes he doesn't know the murderer emphasizes how common and ordinary the man appears in that video clip. Enough that he, like many of us, probably knows a number of people who could be BG.

But the way he says it, with that determined look, makes me feel he has some suspicions about who it might be, maybe even several possibilities. People he doesn't know all that well, but would know because it's a small town. Anyway, those are MOO MOO.

"We're going to get that one tip, that one lead. We'll find that piece of information that's going to lead us to the person or persons responsible for this," said Sgt. Holeman. "That's the one thing I think about every day when I walk in here."

"This person's evil. This person is a monster. This could happen again. So if you're holding that information (back) for whatever reason, you need to think of that. This could happen to your niece, daughter, cousin, sister. This could happen again. And that's one of the main reasons why I lose a lot of sleep, because I don't want this to happen again and I think someone out there has the tip that's the final piece of the puzzle."

"The FBI is asking everyone to take a closer look at the people around you and report any major changes in behavior or appearance over the last several weeks, anything that seems strange, so they can check it out.......

The FBI is looking for anyone who:

Changed their appearance; cut their hair or drastically changed the way they dress

Started abusing drugs or alcohol when they wouldn't have beforehand

Has become anxious or irritable

Has followed this case and what the media is releasing with a sense that is "not normal"

Has a different sleep pattern now

Has been having ongoing conversations about where they were on Feb. 13

Traveled unexpectedly after Feb. 13

Canceled an appointment around Feb. 13

Called in sick to work or suddenly skipped a social engagement

The simple way is to just click the users name that you want to send the PM to and then click 'Private Message'

Alternatively go to your inbox and click on 'Send New Message' (Compose Message on mobile) and enter the username of the person in the field, it will auto fill when it finds their name.

This is unbelievable. We have photos and even a snippet of an audio. We have a timeline, of a sort. And their bodies were recovered very quickly, so one would think LE has the approximate time of death and cause of death. Copious amounts of LE manpower and tips and nationwide - even worldwide attention. Yet here we are on thread #54 and no arrest. The only thing keeping me from being more discouraged is LE has additional info that can lead them to the killer and maybe they are just putting together the pieces on a possible identified person.

I respectfully disagree that this is unbelievable at all.

Remember Dr. Cornbleet's case? He was a dermatologist murdered in his Chicago office during work hours, in a busy building of heaps of offices. He was stabbed, and he fought back and there was so much DNA and so much video footage of the perp, not to mention so many people around as he entered and exited the building and walked those halls.

But, unless you have a clear photo or some very rare physical characteristics, unless you have the right type and amount of DNA to compare to something, unless you have someone who knows what happened (the murderer(s), someone the murderer(s) tell about it, an eye witness who saw the crime) come forward, unless you have circumstances that all point to one person, unless you have <insert other options that help catch a murderer> - and, typically, it's a combination of more than one of those things that make a case, - you are essentially looking for a needle in a haystack.

No one will randomly be able to identify BG based on those terribly fuzzy photos or the one-second voice clip.

In the case of the aforementioned doctor, the break in the case - a case in which they seemed to have so much evidence - came about 10 months after the murder. (Then he fled the country and there was a whole big legal battle, but that's a whole other story.)
There is also a thread on WS dedicated to his case, which isn't 54 threads, only a few pages, but obviously, WS has grown significantly since 2006-2007, and there are cases that attract more people than others, still today. We could have amassed twice as many threads in this case in half as much time, the number of threads has nothing to do with solving a crime; we have seen one-thread cases on here where members figured it all out.

I have no idea what evidence LE has in Abby and Libby's case, I have no idea if they're quietly building a case or they are still looking for the proverbial needle.
The point I am trying to make here is all that glitters ain't always useful evidence, and even when it is, it doesn't necessarily mean an open and shut case that can be wrapped up in a few weeks.

Does anyone remember a newscast early on where the neighbor across the creek from RL spoke to a reporter? It was a woman who was at the end of the private drive who was not at home during the time of abduction.

I remember an interview with a youngish woman. IIRC, the news guy mentioned something about the murders happening a couple of football fields out her back door. Her name was given but it wasn't the same as the property owner at the end of the road.

I didn't keep the link to the interview; I hope you can find it.

I found it googling her last name.

Agreed. For example, yesterday marked the 8 year anniversary of Brittanee Drexel's disappearance. LE has made it very clear that they have known for at least a year who abducted and murdered her. They have stated that they have extensive, significant evidence to support their case. However, they need a rock-solid, slam-dunk case to secure a conviction, and unfortunately, they are still missing a vital piece of evidence. I hope and pray this case never reaches the 8 year mark without resolution, but i would rather wait 8 years for an arrest than see the *******(s) walk free or get a chance at parole due to a shaky, rushed investigation based on circumstantial evidence. This concludes my rant.

I'm coming out of lurking mode to say a few things. One, is that I have a hard time believing that locals didn't know about Delphi's historic trails and the Monon High Bridge in a community of less than 3,000 people. That is very surprising to me, if true. I grew up in a community of about 8,000 and our little park that was named after a local man who was an avid outdoorsman and philanthropist, is known to almost everyone I know and it is hardly historical and isn't nearly as spectacular as that bridge appears to be after viewing it on several YouTube videos. I live about an hour away, in each direction, from the Adirondack Park and almost everyone I know can name at least one lake, several camping spots, hiking trails or the name of a mountain (that they have most likely climbed). I also have a hard time believing that someone other than a local, or at least someone within the surrounding school districts would have any knowledge whatsoever regarding an unscheduled half-day of school (meaning it would not be listed on a school calendar if Delphi does indeed publish and mail them out to the parents/guardians of school children like most districts I know of do). How would someone who was not at least from the area know this? Is it known when it was decided that Feb. 13th would be a half-day? I certainly do apologize if that question has been answered and also mean no offense to anyone, in any way, at all with regards to my disbelief of a few things. Back to hiding out now. Rest In Peace Libby and Abby and may justice be served in your honor and memory and that your families and friends find comfort in one another each and every day. I wish you all peace and safety.

IN- - blue jacket, camo hat , voice sounds like DTH recording, mustache, familiar with general area, PC sw on his home + property.
Out- -too big in belly to be bg. Legs too thick to be bg.

Just a start.
