I hate even asking this question, but its important i think. In the scenario of two children being killed...what specific role does the second child play in this sick scenario?

This signature of the two children and the profile associated with that is exactly how this Perp will be caught, IMO. They operate in deep, dark, cloistered networks online, but he will be found. I SO wish he was being arrested in Texas...
If he/they were on a power trip, then wouldn't two children enhance his trip even more?

I went to 6 different news agencies to find out about Kevin Sellers being arrested and they all ran the same AP story...almost word for word. The lapdog press around here is ridiculous. With the seemingly inside info that Alexis McAdams has considering the way she described Libby took the video over the shoulder,I'm assuming she doen't have the same inside info in Cass county as she does Carroll county otherwise she would be all over it.Sellers doesn't look like the sketch to me but he does have the same body build.Big at the top and narrow at the hip and legs. Also he has the reddish-brown hair LE said the BG has.Maybe when confronted with the girls,he weighed his options and decided he has a better chance admitting to killing a 50 yr old dude rather than two children.I dunno whats going on and until LE starts talking,I'll do as they instructed and draw my own conclusions.
Your penultimate sentence is exactly what I thought too Imno when I first read this confession. Presumably they will take his DNA anyway for checking.

This makes me wonder...in similar cases (as much as we can infer, children in an isolated location), has a perp's first murder, one of escalation from assault, ever been 2 victims? Hope this makes sense...let me rephrase...has a murderer ever chosen 2 child victims in a first time murder?
Kevin Sweat comes to mind. Also Hindley and Brady in UK killed multiple child victims although not two together I don't think. We have had cases in UK of a parent killing their children (and sometimes themselves) to get back at an ex.

Jumping off your post Sherlock, but not directed at you.

From the article regarding KS

"The affidavit says investigators established that
Kevin Sellers was the sole beneficiary of David Sellers’ estate."
<
-------that is your motive

That tip referred to Sellers “having killed his uncle some years before and had gotten away with it.”

Nothing in either of those quotes points to this person being BG. Sometimes this thread gets stuck in overdrive looking for someone to blame. Everytime someone is arrested, reasons are found to suspect that person or feel he looks just like BG (ex. Mark Redwine).

C'mon people! We're better sleuthers.

MOO always and there is only one BOP who posts only on WS.
KS was put forward by someone as being BG. He allegedly admitted killing his uncle 10 years ago because his uncle asked him to do it. We obviously don't know the reasons but his whereabouts on Feb 13th will be checked plus his DNA too hopefully. Someone has done it and certainly anyone who has previous violent convictions or has killed before is a much more likely suspect due to the age of BG IMO.

The fact that KS is a self confessed murderer and worked at Peak,is very very scary.

This is what I based MO off of

"...court records state the "tip referred to Sellers as having killed his uncle some years before and had gotten away with it."

While tips for other cases have been helpful, investigators are still waiting for the one call that leads them to the man in the sketch, the person they believe is responsible for killing two teen girls.

Thankyou for teaching me a cool word! Penultimate!
YVW. Here's another - Someone answered a letter of mine the other day referring to my "anti-penultimate paragraph". I had never heard that before but worked out it meant "third from last" .
Ps. Not cool though it was the taxman replying to me. Sorry for OT.

That's depressing if they are still waiting for the tip. Does that mean they have discounted all tips they have had so far via DNA, alibi, whatever? Or are they being dramatic saying "waiting for that one tip" sounds a bit cliché. They have video, audio, dna (we think), tens of thousands of tips but still no perp.
If he has previously been interviewed, as some have suggested he may have been, how could he have got away with it? It reminds me of the Yorks Ripper (lorry driver) who had been interviewed but overlooked initially IIRC.

(O/T, wow KayElJay...thank you, I definitely would like to dig into this for academic purposes! Interesting cod was via gun...

"OKEMAH, Okla. — A 25-year-old man was charged Friday with first-degree murder in the fatal shootings of two young girls found on a dirt road near Weleetka in 2008.
Thirteen-year-old Taylor Placker and 11-year-old Skyla Whitaker were killed after going for a walk on an unpaved road less than a half-mile from Placker’s home. They had been headed for Bad Creek Bridge, where they planned to wade through waist-high weeds to the river bank to collect shells and pebbles." )

( Eta: possibly 2 perps? One not apprehended? Don't want to get off topic, but interesting...

Yes it is interesting. There was the possibility it may also have been revenge for the prior death of the killer's brother, who Sweat blamed on a relative of one of the victim's. Many similarities in the case IMO. He was caught because he killed again, basically.

Other than Lizzie and Lyric, what other dual child/teen murder cases do we have listed here on websleuths, and if the perp(s) has been apprehended, what charactersitics, information, etc could we possibly use as a comparison for possible insight? Of course this doesn't guarantee certain similarities as each person and case is different....

Kristin Lisk, 15, and Kati Lisk, 12, are two Virginia sisters Richard Marc Evonitz abducted, raped, and murdered in May 1997. This four-part series gives thorough background on Evonitz: http://www.fredericksburg.com/local...cle_24624905-2159-5c21-9d3b-27f78b33e8c7.html

I wasn't trying to admonish anyone but I was pointing out why he came to LE's attention.

My question would be why should he be considered a suspect?

But what about him matches? Height? Weight? Hair? What color are his eyes? Does he live/work near the bridge? Just wondering. A man who will kill his uncle in cold blood for money will do a lot of awful things.

I am still skeptic whether LE even has DNA sample to check against.

The LE public representative that has given out such little and contradicting information about the DNA has me confused whether or not they even have a sample.

Which would be surprising and terrible if they dont have DNA.

I hope they have DNA but am not convinced they do because of how bad the communication from LE has been.

Every time I try to go back and read what they have told media i get even more confused. They are not clear about it at all. If they dont want to let it be known then they should just tell the media flat out that they are keeping all information under wraps rather than confusing everyone.
