So do you think if people chose homeless they believe DN is BG? He wasn't homeless as such - just temporarily estranged from KN.

By March he was back with KN I think. So he wasn't fully homeless till May when they left for Co. I was just saying which majorities could match DN and not insinuating that meant the posters thought DN is BG. I thought that was remarkable, that's all.

Answering Shire's FIRST sentence. (For some reason I've lost the bold/Italics/underlining options.)

No, I don't think that all posters who chose "homeless" believe DN is BG. As we studied the vid/photo of BG (before DN entered our radar), many posters iirc expressed the thought that BG's clothing indicated a "homeless" person.

As to Shire's SECOND sentence: I was under the impression that DN was living under a bridge at the time our girls were murdered. In other words "homeless." Am I wrong about that?:

Sometimes I think BG is DN and sometimes I don't.

My initial reaction when seeing DN was that it was not him. Yes, he has a large nose, but not a bulbous nose that we see in the sketch. And his lips, imo, are too thin to match the BG suspect. As well, like many of you pointed out, DN looks younger.

Other times I find myself thinking it is him. The sketch could be "off" a bit, and if so, DN becomes more of a possible match because there are similarities. And we had noticed long before we knew of DN that the BG seemed to walk like something was amiss with his leg, only to find out from KN that DN has a distinct way of walking due to one leg being shorter than the other. Odd coincidence? Maybe, but it is a compelling reason to consider DN.

I go back and forth often wondering if BG is him or not. It drives me nuts and It is hard to wait for LE to solve this case.

No not wrong. According to his sign in sheet he was homeless in Camby from beginning of Feb till end of Feb when he then went and stayed with KN at the Greenwood motel. So for the month of Feb only due to marital upheaval? Then from 12 May till his arrest. I don't know his status before February. Does anyone have a link showing his address then. He was not what I would call permanently homeless but had got thrown out by KN. She stated they watched the delphi news footage together, for instance.

However, at the specific time of the murders, he was "living under bridges in Indiana". And yes, many think BG looked homeless due to his layered clothing look. Does that mean everyone who thinks BG is homeless, also thinks BG is DN ? I don't know.

Therefore a poll of my own: -

If you think BG is homeless and not DN - please thank this post.

I've been involved with a few criminal cases, behind the scenes. Although LE were sure they knew who did a crime, the DA wouldn't necessarily take it unless and until other criteria were met to prosecute. Even if the DA believed LE had the right guy, they have to look at it from all angles just as a jury might be looking at it, as there will be a defense put on too. And, the prosecution only gets one chance! If an acquittal comes in, they can't recharge that person for the same crime. So, let's let LE and the DA work together putting all the pieces together, all the evidence together, crossing their T's and dotting their I's and see if there is a solid prosecution to move forward with.

Article about an attempted abduction on a trail in Bedford.

The suspect is described as a man wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a camouflage ski mask.

Ty for finding this news! So glad this woman managed to get away and call LE. Hopefully, in addition to being able to describe assailant's clothes, she was also able to describe his sz, age, features, Etc.

At the very least, we need to get some of these dangerous creeps behind bars !!

From Cora's link:
http://www.theindychannel.com/news/l...-bedford-trail

"At approximately 3:11 pm Officers responded to a request for help on the Milwaukee Trail, just outside the city limits. A female reported that an unknown male displayed a firearm and attempted to tie her up. The female reports that she was able to fight off her attacker, and ran back towards SR 37 where she located a couple and was able to use their cell phone to call police. The male was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a camouflage ski mask. If anyone has additional information regarding this incident please contact the Bedford Police at 812-275-3311."

Shire's Survey:
"If you think BG is homeless and not DN - please thank this post.
If you think BG is homeless and is DN, please thank this post.
If you're unsure BG is homeless or DN, please thank this post."

I need a "None of the Above" Choice or a choice that says "I never thought BG was homeless until DN (who I considered homeless) entered the picture."

(If it turns out that DN isn't BG, then I'll go back to thinking BG isn't homeless.)

Maybe after this week's court appearances we may be a step nearer knowing - if he is found guilty of those charges, it could be one step closer.

It has only been two months since his arrest. That really isn't long enough to prove murder unless caught red handed.

Yes, it feels like too long to have any word from law enforcement, though instead of "proof" re DN being an either-or demand, we should be looking at the realistic time frame of the results from laboratory tests. Don't have a single link here and now, yet recall it mentioned early on how numerous the samples were in Delphi. Plenty of examples in other cases here on WS and currently in the news of how long it takes---not for any single test, or case, but the delaying from large backlog of cases.

I have asked this question of myself several times.

My initial response I think would be to "freeze". Even though I know I should run I'm not sure that I could leave anyone behind.

I went to an active shooter seminar about a year ago and the advice given was this..... RUN, HIDE, DEFEND. A point was made that you don't go back and you don't help someone who has been injured. You RUN to save your life because going back will probably end up killing you and you PROBABLY can't help the person who's gone down. It's all about self preservation.

Sigh.

I'm not sure I can do that. I'm not sure I can leave people behind. I'm not sure I can't help someone who needs help. If I die helping someone I think that's the choice I'd like to make. I'm not looking to be hero. I'm not looking for accolades. My moral compass tells me that the right thing to do is to help.

That being said, until I'm in that situation (and I hope that never happens) I don't think I know what I'd do.

MOO
Thank you for responding. That's almost exactly how I feel. And also, you know how if you hear something scary in the house, you want someone next to you? That. I think in a terrifying situation, having love around me and feeling like 2 are better than 1 would take over.

I also asked my child. He knows to run, kick, scream, punch. But I then asked him what if someone pointed a gun at him. Or me! I can tell he would comply. I told him I would want him to run and leave me. But there Is no way. #1, he feels like my protector. #2, I am his comfort. He isn't going to leave me to run somewhere alone. And no way no how would I ever leave him.

Do you know how many cases we kind of blame a friend for leaving someone who later got killed. Well.... now we think it's natural. I know it's a different situation, but the underlying thread is common. You don't leave your friends.

This is such an interesting topic to me. Thanks to all who gave their thoughts.

I would do an assesment. My grandmother was a cop..she would say quickly access..it there a rock or something i could use as a weapon, does he have physical control over me or just my friend. how far to the nearest people?

then if I

did not think I had a chance to attack , assail or, rescue my friend with a rock a board or nearby opportunity
If I was not restrained and knew the way to the nearest open biz, house or street..I would RUN LIKE BLOODY HELL.

hoping that I could be the one who finds help.

I might not initially want to run but I consider myself our last chance so I would do it. MOO

i was just looking at the picture of BG.

interesting now that his ears are covered, I felt like it was cold so I thought , dude is wearing his cold weather cap.
but now Im thinking dude is covering his extended earlobes in case he is seen.

also I feel like the FBI and LE are well aware of the limp or catch in the walk of BG, and I am sure they know wether the limp that DN displays is a match.

thats all...Im just waiting to see like everyone else.

the things that pull at me are

the limp
now the covered ears take on new signifigance
the fact he traveled 100 miles before to commit his previous crimes
living under a bridge
hair color
eye color
build
unusual facial features
known as axman
liar
proximity with no alibai
ran away as case heated up

the slaughtered pigs

and finally the lies that KN has already told in an effort to mislead the public regarding the truth.

I agree with you. Has it ever been established that BG is the same person as the picture of a guy in Lafayette? I think it was in April a woman with her kids took the picture of a guy that looked just like BG.
I think DN might go to Parks , trails etc., panhandling.

Ok I'll make a note of your choices for the future count.( For "none of the above" don't select anything )

Cheers.

I know they say to run, but I really do think it depends on the situation and your own capabilities. Would I leave my child or any child behind? Never. I would fight for them to be able to get away and not worry about myself. A friend or adult family member? It would greatly depend on the precise circumstances. COULD I help them get away? Would I be more useful in running while making a phone call? What weapons and how many people are involved? How far away are we from help? I'm a pretty good fighter so what are my chances? I've successfully walked away from some pretty scary situations before (while working on the ambulance) so I'd like to think I wouldn't freeze, but you never really know do you.

On that note, I never go into the woods without at least pepper spray and a 100 lb german shepherd who thinks he is my dad or maybe my son depending on the situation, so I hope these questions never have to be answered.

That was a rumor and never reported in MSM, so is not part of the discussion here.
