KN was a NO SHOW again???
Where did you find that, Niner?
And thank you for gathering all that info and posting it, "Whew!" indeed!

Where? Probably in one of the articles someone posted here... please don't ask me to look that up! :pcguru: Can you "trust" me on that? LOL!

So neither of them went to court at all yesterday? Is that right?

I believe LE probably brought DN there, but KN never showed on 11/9.

Sorry it took so long to answer, I've been caught up on two missing person cases! Intense!!

Get Libby's grandfather and Abby's mother to champion the state to get their act together.
How ridiculous - think of the amount of DNA evidence that this backlog contains, which holds the key to other crimes.

BBM - I agree. And just imagine the number of heads that would roll if, by some chance, BG's DNA was in that pile of neglect !!

Look at how quickly items were tested in the Mariah Woods case and her monster arrested.

While there are different circumstances in the two cases, the point I am making is the quickness of the testing.

My firm belief is in Libby and Abby's case everything has been tested. LE is using the "waiting for testing" as a pacifier to the public. The actual truth is LE just doesn't have much to go on.

This judgement is supported by the retirement of the district attorney and his comment. I don't remember the comment but the gist of it was there isn't anything close to an arrest for months.

If the perp did not leave any quality evidence, then LE is in a quandary and their hands are tied. Would it not be better to be honest with the public? Let the perp know, so perhaps he will come out of the shadows and make a mistake, giving LE a chance to find him? LE can't find him if he stays hidden. Of course, he might not be local, but knowing LE has nothing might draw him out in his area.
That case is NC isn't it and they haven't found the body yet so there can't have been any testing done as yet. They must have arrested based on other evidence. IMO.

If you have a link to the quick testing in that case it would be helpful.

O/T -- Items were found in the NC case and flown by Osprey helicopter to Quantico for testing. It was discussed in the thread for that case.

ETA to add link:

TY for the link. Perhaps the "amber alert" status made a difference in some way in that NC case. Does more funding become available or what would make a difference? We know the FBI were involved early in the Delphi case.

I know its just a coincidence, but the picture in the link of the Camp Lejeune Marines helping with that search just made me think of DN again.

Yep and females are 70% of the victims of serial killers. See the article in the New Yorker in the headline link. I'm still taking in all the info in that article.

can you tell me where that link is? I was looking but dont see it. Thank You!

The very top of this (every) page. The headline article by Tricia re the Murder Accountability Project.

I guess nothing useful has come back for this case from Indiana state or Quantico, given all this time.

***
“Some evidence testing has come back in, but not a lot of it,” Carroll County Sheriff Tobe Leazenby said in an interview May 5, adding that he could not discuss particulars about that evidence that he previously said was sent to two locations – the Indiana State Police lab and the FBI lab in Quantico, Va.

“Some of that has afforded us the opportunity to eliminate people from the picture, but it still hasn’t provided us someone to jail,” he added.

I believe only DNA and fingerprints can poitively identify and eliminate a POI.

Agreed. Evidence sent to Quantico, IMO, would suggest DNA.

ETA: Well, that and and testimony from witnesses and a confession, and a jury putting it all together.

Murder Accountability Project shows 4 unsolved murders in Kokomo IN. 3 in Howard County and 1 in Tipton. All involve handgun-pistol, revolver, etc. All white female victims between the ages 16 and 23. They occurred February 2013, April 2008, August 2001 and October 2002.

Video and voice, fibre and footprints may also identify someone and having no alibi can help convict without having dna or prints. Also toolmarks and ballistics. There could be a lot of evidence in this case that we know nothing about. That could also be why it is taking so long to exclude any POI IMO.
Eta I see Jabarn has also stated eye witnesses and confession. Sometimes only one out of all of these can convince a jury.

...last we saw/heard with AG interview was she was in CO. I believe she also stated, at that time, she was without a car. Are her children in the custody of the state? If so/not would someone provide a link? tia

It sure would be an awesome Christmas gift to the families, if this monster was locked up by then. I'm praying that happens.

The reason it is at a standstill can be seen in Silly Billy warning post last night. Some were being rude about others opinions and some posters were telling others how to post and acting like mods by saying not to talk about DN or the Co charges. So the thread is free for now but noone has anything other than that to post about AFAICS.

This.

I’ve been following this case since the beginning and used to post regularly. Lately I’ve had to bite my tongue and scroll and roll because it seems whenever I make a post, whether my own or a reply, the sass that comes about is just discouraging. No one likes the feeling of a stranger ripping them a new AH on your opinion.

This thread has been warned, paused, etc by admins for this reason several times.

Why can’t we all just be supportive of each other’s opinions and write responses respectfully? That is, after all, what I expect on WS.

For now I’ll be scrolling and rolling and reading without much comment. I’m sure there are several posters feeling the same.

I agree that the sketch was done from a photograph. When I look at the array of photographs of DN they do indeed look like far different ages. Even some of the older ones look like an older person than the newer ones do. Really strange.

Personally I think the sketch was done from the DNA (using a computer) as it was done in the Faith Hedgepeth case. If so, DN is too close to the sketch for comfort.

Hadn't thought about that possibility at all. Food for thought.

This is the first I've heard of a computer generating a sketch using DNA. Very interesting.

Do you (or anybody here) know if the Faith Hedgepeth case was solved? And, if it was solved, did the perp actually look like the sketch?
