One year after alleged Delphi killer sketch released, here is what we know, and don't:

“"It's one person's conception, and it's one person who did the drawing," said Indiana State Police Sergeant Kim Riley. "This is what they came up with. Is it perfect? No. Is it something people can go off of? Yes."

"We do have cards that we have not laid on the table. But you never want to show your whole hand because it could compromise your case more than it can help it."”

“"I keep getting emails asking is this a cold case yet," said Riley. "I've said no. We have many directions we are still going and we have many things to look at. This is not a cold case, it's nowhere near a cold case."

"Totally disagree," said Carroll County Sheriff Tobe Leazenby when asked how he felt when people called it a cold case. "A true cold case is when you have nothing to work with. We still have information that is being worked on. Until that day comes, where we have nothing to work with, we will continue to move forward."“

Indiana unsolved: cold case crimes

“While technically not a "cold case", the murders of two Delphi teens have yet to be solved. The deaths of Liberty German, 14, and Abigail Williams, 13 horrified people in Indiana and around the world. People were shocked and heartbroken when the girls' bodies were found by a search party in the woods just east of Delphi on Feb. 14, 2017. Since then, people have been transfixed by the case, following the latest news and hoping for any sign of an arrest”

“We know, too, that Indiana law enforcement will not rest until another monster is found and caged — the man who murdered Liberty Rose Lynn German, 14, and Abigail J. Williams, 13, in a wooded area near Delphi last year. As with the Tinsley case, hopes continue for solving the double murder the state police chief has said is proof that “evil lives amongst us.” Just ask the residents of Grabill.“

The Unsolved Delphi Murders: What Happened to Indiana Teens Libby German and Abby Williams?
MAY 16, 2018

“Though autopsies were performed on both girls, neither police nor the FBI has released the cause of death of either girl, or information about what, exactly, happened to them that afternoon. In fact, officials have still only released three key pieces of information related to the case: Libby’s blurry photo of the suspect, who was seen walking with his head down, wearing jeans, a blue jacket, a hat and a brown hoodie. The police also released Libby’s audio snippet of the man. They have more audio recordings as well, but Indiana State Police First Sgt. Jerry Holeman, the investigative commander of the Lafayette District, has said, “Protecting the integrity of the investigation is key so we cannot release everything because there are certain people that know the details and if we release it all then we get into false confessions.””

““There’s a person out there that knows who did it. Not a hunch. They know who that person is,” said Carter. “They know that voice and they know those clothes. They know that posture. They know that stance and they know who murdered those two little girls in that quiet place.”“

Daniel Nations: 'I'm not what they made me out to be'

“He says he didn’t learn about the murders until he was in the Teller County jail, and news broke that Indiana State Police were on their way to question him in the deaths of Delphi teens Liberty German, 14, and Abigail Williams, 13.

“Three inmates came in my cell and said I had to get out of here. They said, ‘You killed two kids,’ ” Nations recalled. “I was like, ‘What? I have children.’ ”“

“There have been many events for Libby and Abby in the last year and a half. This one is specifically a celebration of life because organizers wanted to make sure people who came out had a good time.

"We always liked the carnivals and the trips and the family stuff and that's what this is all about today, the family stuff," said Anna Williams, who is Abby's mother.

"People are smiling, they're having a good time," said Mike Patty, who is Libby's grandfather. "It's good for our souls, our families, to see the community come out and having a good time and remembering the girls. It's very heartfelt and heartwarming."“

I was able to attend the Celebration of Life for Abby & Libby this past weekend Sept 29, 2018 and walk the trail to the bridge.

“We've already got the land all acquisitioned, we've got permits, we've got prints in place," Patty said.

Part of the driveway is laid out which you can see by the intersection of the Hoosier Heartland and State Road 218.

"It's slow," said Patty. "I'll be honest with you."

He said it's hard to set a time-line for this $1,000,000 project because everything relies heavily on fundraising and donated equipment, resources and time from construction crews. Work is in the heavy construction phase which includes larger equipment like bulldozers.

"We're going to get there," Patty said. "It's going to take a lot longer than what we all want, but just perseverance and we'll stay after it until it's done."“

Delphi murders: Libby’s sister does ‘anything to keep the story alive’

“Less than a month into her college career, she gave a speech in Comm 210, a class called Fundamentals of Public Speaking, about her sister and about Abby, who would have been sophomores at Delphi Community High School this semester. About how the image of a man walking across the abandoned Monon High Bridge and a recording of a man’s voice saying, “Down the hill” – each found on Libby’s phone – made national news. About how hundreds of investigators from two dozen local, state and federal agencies planted themselves in Delphi for months trying to track a suspect. About how, to this day, police have made no arrests.“
