THis may have been what started that discussion.
"Sheriff Len Hagaman said that Michael Plumadore was in Watauga and registered as a sex offender on November 29th of 2007 when found by a sex offender check, and found him to be a fugitive from Indiana at that time."

I totally agree SuziQ, that's what's frustrating to me. For some reason a criminal case wasn't pursued, though a crime was clearly committed. I don't know if the sexting pics were kept or not. I don't know if the mom was advised that it would be a hard case to prove and a difficult situation to put her daughter through, or if mom reached some kind of agreement in terms of limited visitation or assurance that MP would not be there, or exactly what. I just wish it hadn't stopped there.
For some reason, family/civil court advised mom to pursue a criminal case and something deterred her from following through. I wish the civil court saw fewer false complaints so that they could focus more on encouraging and helping parents in these circumstances to pursue criminal recourse.
I have been unable to keep up with all the postings on this thread. Can anyone tell me where the sisters of this poor child are? CPS? or w/Mom or what? TIA
Oh my. my immediate reaction was I hope this friends daughter wasn't victimized in any way.
I find it very odd to move several states away so young children can stay in touch with each other. It makes me wonder even more so why TS hadn't developed any of the 'normal' ties with classmates, classmates parents, neighborhood friends and their parents.
I hate 'suspecting' this families every move, but when so many of their moves have been questionable, it is difficult not to.
This families behavior is just, so odd.

From the above article:
During my time with Plumadore, he gave his version of what happened Dec. 23. He told the story calmly and, as far as I could tell, consistently. The relatives of Aliahna who were present had no dispute with what he said.
OMG there are no words. So some of Aliahna's relatives were apparently there, in person, with this reporter supporting MP during this interview.
I am sickened. I am horrified. I am speechless.
****WARNING: GRUESOME DETAILS IN THIS POST ****
I asked my dh to calculate for me (my brain just couldn't bear to even try)
We use Hefty zip locks at our house. There are 17 gallon bags in a box. He said depending on how small things were cut up - it is conceivable for 2 1/2 - 3 boxes of these bags to hold 41 lbs. He said it depends on the size of what's being placed in the bags as to how much each one would truly hold - but mathematically using a constant regarding size. It just depends on how much time he spent cutting her up.
Breaks my freaking heart.
That's it for me in regards to the gruesome details. I only asked dh to do this for me because I think there is reason to sleuth how many bags he could conceivably had to dispose of to help figure out a proper timeline etc.
I think the chances of child to be charged is such a situation are ZERO. I have never heard of a child being charged for being coerced of sending photos to an adult. Never.

I have. In cases where one underage kid would send photos to her boyfriend, or where a child would send the photos to someone else, often both parties were charged, one with distribution and one with possession. And in some cases, the defense is coercion. It doesn't matter, they are both charged, and both likely to end up on the registry.
The law is behind technology. The law was created to protect kids, but in many cases it doesn't do that. JMO.
I hope every trailer, shed and wooded area was searched for signs of blood/tissue. As for freezer bags, aren't gallon size the largest? I don't recall seeing larger unless they mean storage bags.
Since she was quite adept on the internet, Facebook and such it should not have been hard for her to search Mike P and find out about his background.
Poor parenting, poor judgement, whatever. Her child is DEAD due to her judgement. Mike P killed her but mommy was sitting at home on the Facebook when she should have been taking care of her.
The buck has to stop somewhere
That turned out to be an error and Billisbobby deleted the post. The article he had linked turned out to be about the grandfather, not MP.
As far as has been determined so far MP was not on any sex offender lists yet.
I believe this article was re-written and this statement has yet to be verified..
I totally agree with the bolded statement (and have said so elsewhere). Anytime a child goes missing it should be treated as a criminal investigation from the get-go (including taking possession of the child's last known whereabouts and going over it with a fine-toothed comb). I feel that if this were the standard, we wouldn't have nearly the never-ending "missing" cases languishing on this site (and elsewhere). You know, this is driving me batty:
I have read that possibly police didn't discover Ailie's remains in the dumpster because they weren't looking for a dead child but an alive child.
If this really is true then protocol for missing children's cases needs to be changed. It should automatically be considered a possibility that missing child has met with foul play.
In the Jorelys Rivera case, blood stains were overlooked in an abandoned apartment because they were only looking for a missing girl.
Sadly, it would seem that nowadays a dumpster is a very logical place to look for a missing child. I cannot believe that if they had MP under suspicion almost immediately, that they only gave that dumpster a cursory glance until MP confessed.
Makes no sense.
Did he go and buy freezer bags on Thursday? I hadn't got him pegged as the homemaker type who would always have lots of freezer bags handy because he cooks so much and freezes home made pies, casseroles, hand picked berries and other fresh produce etc.
