Yes, Meridian St runs north-south through downtown, it actually continues throughout the state (31), marking the central line... The stretch of Meridian St you drove, going into the city from Carmel is N. Meridian, this is what I was referring to in my post, and it has several blocks of beautiful homes, but if you continue through into the downtown area you get into the low income area. Taylor was found staying at a home on S. Meridian, which is in a low income area. The center point of downtown Indianapolis is called The Circle, Meridian street runs through it, anything north of that point is N. Meridian, and south is S. Meridian. There's a huge difference between the north and south side of Meridian st, within the city limits. Just to note: 38th St runs through N. Meridian St... BTW, I love Carmel, my husband and I met in Carmel, we were married and lived there for 5 years. Most of his family still lives in the Carmel/Nora area. Most of my family, including my husband, kids, and I now live in the Fishers/Noblesville area...
With all of it's problems, as most cities it's size does, Indy is still a great place, thx for saying so! I can't imagine living anywhere else!
p.s. Sounds like you were in town for a Colts game?
All jmo.
