Gosh I wish they would find Ciera. And there isn't much coverage it seems, long spaces between any news. Prayers for her family and baby son. Moo

Police have searched XB's car, correct? If so, is it known how they searched it (dogs, luminol, etc...)?

I think the problem is that CB was last seen at her mother-in-law's house in GA. (Was CB entering or leaving the residence?) But, as far as I know, XB's family (in GA) has not cooperated with LE. So, if something happened to CB at the mother-in-law's house or the mother-in-law's car was used for nefarious purposes, LE has no access to searching those locations (at this point anyway). I wonder if LE has looked for videocam info for movements of XB, his mom's car, etc. during that same time period?

Was it a day or two after CB's last sighting that XB returned to IN with their infant? If CB was around to start that trip, it's likely something happened during the trip, meaning CB could be anywhere between GA and IN.

It feels like searching for a needle in a haystack with so little concrete info.

MOO.

So the link above that Steve P used (wishtv/channel 8) states the video from XB's mother's house has not been released to the public. IMO, CB was wearing the shorts & shirt described in the missing person flyer distributed by Missing in MI group in this video. What is not known IMO is who/what all is in that video. Just CB or CB XB JB(baby) CB's dog? Could be anything or anyone.
I will speculate that XB's mother must have given the video to LE? Was the surveillance taken from her camera or a neighbor's?
This was 7pm on the 24th & XB made it back to IN & reported CB missing on the morning of the 26th? So approx 36 hrs she was last seen & then reported missing.
The drive from JCreek to C,IN is 8-1/2 hrs without an infant & dog.
But unfortunately I agree that she is somewhere between Ga & Indiana. I'm inclined to think Chattanooga, TN & Cincinnatti, OH.
I sure hope there is something of XB that was either seen by a witness or a security camera between those 2 cities or perhaps after 7pm on the 24th in XB's mother's neighborhood.
But all JMO.

I wonder if Ciera recorded XB in the past? But past behavior isn't proof of murder in court. There need to be more evidence. BBM:

Campbell (Ciera's cousin) said Breland had had gone back and forth from being scared and then wanting to fix things with her husband. Campbell also said she had turned over multiple videos to police that Breland had asked her to save and give to them if anything ever happened to her.

This is interesting. Hopefully there is some useful information in these videos and may assist LE in finding Ciera.

Correct. There have been many references by MSM to the surveillance video showing Ciera around 7:15PM on 2/24 at XB's mother's home in Johns Creek, but AFAIK that video has not been released by LE. At this point we don't know who was seen in the video, or what was taking place at that time. All we know is that LE indicates this video is the last known sighting of Ciera.

The general consensus seems to be that Ciera never arrived back in Carmel.

So far no one there has actually reported seeing her after the GA trip, and at this point XB is the only person claiming Ciera was in Carmel. XB's father, who apparently lives right next door to Ciera and XB in Carmel, has not made any public statements about seeing Ciera after the GA trip, AFAIK. Without any known sightings of Ciera in Carmel, logic suggests that she never arrived there, and XB's story of Ciera being 'kidnapped' while on the way to a store is highly improbable.

The obvious question is: Where is Ciera?

Based on XB's documented abusive and violent history towards women, and his numerous previous arrests, I agree that she could be anywhere between Johns Creek and Carmel. It would make sense that wherever Ciera is, the location could be both secluded and well-known to XB. MOO.

Knowing XB's history with both his wives, chances are that Ciera is no longer alive. That said, how likely is it that she is in a body of water as opposed to on land? If she was in the water, her body could have resurfaced after a certain time (unless it's a fast running river). Without futher location clues it will be nearly impossible to find her. I don't expect there were any witnesses or they would have come forward and I doubt XB will talk. Will Ciera be found by accident one day?

Just going off the fact that they left his mother's house with the baby and the dog would probably limit his options to dump a body. It must be somewhere accessible with a car, so perhaps he didn't drive hours to a remote location (and back). It was probably somewhere along his route to Indiana that was secluded enough. He likely didn't take a lot of time to bury a body. The police know which route he took home. Nothing was said about where he stopped for gas.

I also wonder if whatever he did to Ciera happened at night outside of her car. Did he lure her out of the car while their baby was sleeping?

Inside Edition has an article from earlier this month:
Where Is Ciera Breland? Mom of 5-Month-Old Vanishes

Some quotes of interest from the article:

"One of the allegations involving his ex-wife is that he placed a tracking device inside a stuffed animal he gave to the couple's daughter, and made harassing phone calls to the woman despite a court order banning him from communicating with her, authorities said."

and

"Campbell said her family now believes that Ciera never made it out of Georgia. The last confirmed sighting of her was Feb. 24, in surveillance video showing her standing outside her mother-in-law's suburban Atlanta home, authorities said."

and

"After Xavier was arrested on the stalking charge and extradited to Georgia, he participated in a video court hearing two weeks ago before a Fulton County judge in an ongoing civil custody dispute involving the children he had with his ex-wife.

The mother was seeking to terminate all contact between Xavier and the two children, including virtual video visits, saying the father was a danger to his children. Judge Alex Manning viewed in court a video of a previous visit between Xavier and the children, in which he tells the boy and girl that their stepmother has been kidnapped and won't return. The children became visibly upset, the judge said.

“What I saw in that video was heartbreaking, it’s heartbreaking,” said Judge Manning. “This little girl falls apart in two minutes (into) uncontrollably sobbing.

“It goes from she’s missing to she’s kidnapped,” the judge said, explaining what she heard Breland say to his children. The video was not played for the full court.

“This conversation seems to escalate to now, ‘Nope she’s been kidnapped, do you know what that means, she’s never coming back,’ and I don’t know how you know that, but you seem to know she’s never coming back and it’s just traumatizing these children over and over and over again,” Manning said to Breland, CBS46 reported.

The father's attorney issued a statement to CBS46, which misspelled the missing woman's first name: "The spouse is always the first person the police look at in a disappearance but in this case Mr. Breland had nothing to do with Cierra’s disappearance. Mr. Breland is devastated by her disappearance which he reported to the police, and if he wasn’t incarcerated on an unrelated matter he would be helping to look for Cierra."

Manning granted the mother's request to end contact between the children and their father, according to local reports."

"Devastated by her disappearance..." Interesting statement, but not unexpected, especially from his defense attorney. MOO.

Still no public statements or assistance with search efforts from anyone in XB's family AFAIK.

Missing Indiana woman’s husband has bond revoked in Coweta stalking case

Superior Court Judge Emory Palmer initially revoked Xavier Breland’s bond March 16, according to court records. She ordered him to remain in custody until a hearing could be held for attorneys to argue his custody status. That hearing was held Wednesday.

In a motion Coweta prosecutors filed last month to keep his bond revoked, Assistant District Attorney Hallie Dixon cited the fact that Xavier Breland missed court dates — including his Feb. 23 arraignment — fled the county and was declared a person of interest in his wife’s disappearance.

“Wherefore the state maintains that the defendant poses a significant risk of flight, a significant threat to the victim, and a significant risk of committing further crimes if allowed to remain free on bond,” Dixon argued in the motion.

From what we know about XB, I think this statement is accurate. No way should he be allowed free on bond. MOO

Has anyone seen any new information regarding Ciera's case? As of yesterday I found nothing new. The most recent MSM post I found was about 10 days old.

  • #357
As of this morning I found no MSM updates in the search for Ciera. All of the MSM reports are several weeks old.

It's been quite a while since we have heard anything. This case is local to me, since Carmel is my neighboring city. Not very familiar with Georgia, MOO but I think if they haven't found something (whether it be Ciera, or traces of her) then it is very possible that if she was killed her body was dumped along the way back to Indiana. That is quite a long area to search, and if XB won't talk then law enforcement won't have a good idea of exactly where to pinpoint the search. I'm sincerely hoping Ciera will be found soon, whatever the case. I cannot imagine being her family right now.

Agreed. IMO, he didn't have much time to dispose and conceal, so I presume CB is located in a place that was familiar to XB? But who knows?

I agree. I think at this point, it is likely she will only be found by someone happening to stumble across her remains. If she's found at all.

I don't see XB ever choosing to talk. And as far as we know, his family hasn't been forthcoming with any info they might have.

It's utterly heartbreaking.

MOO.
