IN IN - Ciera Breland Locklair 31, last seen in GA, POI husband Xavier Breland Jr, Carmel, 25 Feb 2022

Ciera was last seen driving away from her father’s home in John’s Creek, Georgia, on February 24, 2022. Xavier Breland reported her missing a few days later, telling investigators he last saw her in Carmel, Indiana.

He told investigators that Ciera walked to a store on February 26, 2022, in below-freezing temperatures. He claimed she left wearing shorts while leaving her wallet and cell phone at home.

Ciera’s mother, Kelly Locklair, said although the baby and the couple’s other children are safe, she fears her daughter is “gone.” She said that Ciera was afraid of her estranged husband and was desperate to leave Indiana and get away from him.

“She’s definitely gone,” Locklair said. “That was the first thing my husband said when police called after (Xavier) reported her missing, and the officer said she had walked away without bringing the baby. She wouldn’t even take a shower and let anybody else watch the baby.”
Ciera was not “last seen driving away from her father’s house in John’s Creek, Georgia on February 24, 2022.” Ciera’s father doesn’t live in Johns Creek

I believe that MSM reported that Ciera was last seen on cctv at the door (or just outside the door) of XB’s mother’s house in Johns Creek, GA at 7:15 pm (7:17 pm per some accounts) on the evening of 2/24

Why would he take off now?

I think this might be good news - in a way.
It may mean that XB suspects that LE is about to charge him in CB’s disappearance. It’s hard to believe he would go into the wind just over a gun charge, but idk. In any event I hope he is brought in soon. Ciera deserves justice

I wonder if LE ever did a soil analysis on the shovel that reportedly “in” the Christmas tree that was in the garage (and which was apparently included in the search warrant) when LE searched the home in Carmel on the 27th (the day after XB reported CB missing). If so, I wonder if the soil matches soil from the area near Abbott’s Bridge Recreation Area / boat launch, just east of where Abbott’s Bridge crosses over the Chattahoochee River.

I do find it strange that LE’s search warrant on the 27th apparently specifically included the Christmas Tree. Had XB brought the tree back from ATL - maybe on top of the Tiguan? (I have no idea - total speculation and thinking out loud

I’ll try to go back in the thread and in my notes to confirm the following:

In Carmel XB reported CB missing at around 9 pm on the 26th - stating that he last saw her when she left the house (in Carmel) at approx 10 pm the night before (on the 25th) to walk to the store - on a very cold night, leaving behind all three of her phones, her ID, and credit cards..

After LE searched the house in Carmel (incl garage and Christmas Tree) on the 27th and found two firearms, they returned again to the home on the 28th.

This was apparently the day that a gun discharged in the garage (I assume this occurred before LE showed up, but idk). XB reported that somehow a gun had gone off while he was in the garage, so he went/ran out of the garage, then went back into the garage - where he discovered that a gun (that he apparently didn’t know about) had fallen out of the Christmas Tree. He said at that point he unloaded the gun.

An LE officer who had searched the garage (and the tree) just the day before (on the 27th) and mentioned the shovel found “in” the tree, later said there was no gun “in” the tree when it was searched on the 27th, just the shovel

Is there a link or a copy of the search warrant available? I don't remember those details (but it has been awhile since I have kept up with Ciera's case).

I can only hope that XB being awol from court means he's afraid of being charged in her disappearance. Imo.

Justice for Ciera.

Manhunt underway for 'person of interest' in Indiana lawyer's disappearance after cross-country trip

[...]
The sole "person of interest" in a nearly two-year-old missing person case has vanished.

Xavier Breland, the estranged husband of Ciera Breland, who disappeared in February 2022, never showed up to court in Hamilton County, Indiana, on an unrelated gun charge at the end of December.

The presiding judge issued a re-arrest warrant and canceled the scheduled Jan. 8 jury trial, as law enforcement tracks down his whereabouts, according to the court docket.

Breland's lawyer didn't immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
[...]

BBM above.

IMO XB's credibility regarding Ciera's disappearance is already at zero. His own father admitted in the media that XB makes up different stories concerning Ciera's disappearance. In addition, there have been no MSM reports of XB, or anyone in his family for that matter, assisting with searches for Ciera. And now he fails to appear in court for his weapon charge hearing.

‘I’m really scared’: Texts reveal missing Indiana woman lived in fear of her husband

[...]
Xavier’s attorney released a statement:
“The spouse is always the first person the police look at in a disappearance, but in this case Mr. Breland had nothing to do with Cierra’s disappearance. Mr. Breland is devastated by her disappearance which he reported to the police, and if he wasn’t incarcerated on an unrelated matter he would be helping to look for Cierra.” ATTORNEY BRYAN HOWARD
[...]

Now that XB has declined to appear in court for the weapons charge I'm wondering if Mr. Howard is standing by his earlier statements?

XB is clearly NOT incarcerated, yet there are no indications from LE or MSM sources that XB has ever taken an active role searching for Ciera.

I wonder if what I bolded is related to the 5 requests for a cd of a hearing?
Is that court record "sort of sealed"? "Limited use"? You can just look at it?
I wonder if SB's parents have hired an outside source to investigate?

I assumed "non-party" was just that. Members of the media?
Would a private investigator firm be a non-party? They wouldn't need 5 cds, though, would they?

Husband of missing Carmel woman released from jail after posting bond

[...]
At Breland's initial hearing, he pleaded with the judge to lower his bond to an amount his mother could afford. His bond had been set at $35,000 and prosecutors wanted it increased to $50,000.
[...]

What is the Cost of Bail in Indiana?

The standard rate in Indiana among bail bond companies is 10-15 percent of the full bond amount. The fee is mandated by the state law.

Example: A $10,000 Bond Premium will be a $1,000 to $1,500 Bail Fee
(Depending on Charges and Criminal History)

Not that I am glad he is missing, but I am glad that whoever put up the $10,000 bond has now lost that money.

  • #532
I'd have to back and review the thread again to be certain, but IIRC this is not the first time XB has failed to appear at a court hearing.

MOO, but I would think someone in his family would be able to contact him.

  • #533
I wonder who will be helping to support him monetarily on this run. I only have read that he was unemployed. What is his line of work, has it been noted on here?

  • #534
Since his parents, especially his mother, have been paying for his legal expenses, IMO they would also be supporting him financially.

XB was a truck driver at one point. He also was owner of a power washing business.

Does anybody know from what location XB went missing? Had he been staying at RB’s house in Johns Creek, or was he up in Indiana?

  • #537
I’m not aware of any MSM reports indicating where XB has been living in recent months.

However, since he previously lived and worked in the Atlanta area, and his mother currently lives there, IMO it would be logical to assume he has been staying somewhere in that general area.

Thank you for the correction. I thought I must've just been wrong about her at his moms so I appreciate your post.

I always thought she was last seen at his mom's bc they weren't giving her the baby and she was trying to get her baby iirc?

Is there any idea of WHEN he disappeared or only when he didn't show for the court date. In other words when was he last seen? I am having a hard time not feeling that he has family support for this no-show. MOO MOO MOO MOO

  • #540
@Rosiebones I do not know the last time XB was seen, and I have not read any MSM reports concerning this. IMO since he was scheduled to appear in court it would be logical to assume his attorney would have been in contact with him at some point recently.

We know from MSM reports that his mother provided his bail money. Also, someone must have been paying his other legal expenses so IMO it’s a distinct possibility his family paid for them.
