When is the last time anyone else definitely saw the baby? Did anyone see him walking and carrying the little one before the assault? Obviously there were witnesses AFTER the fact... but none before?

Good question!

The neighbors they interviewed seem skeptical, I wonder why?

How exactly did Willie see the couple leave and the direction they took if he was unconscious?

  • #203
Well I can know, police ain't buying the abduction story, or else why are are they looking in the woods and river near the home???? If they thought abduction, wouldn't they be looking for suspects, and the vehicle? Ugh! I don't like this at all. :(

I am skeptical as well, but LE searching doesn't necessarily mean they don't believe him. If the baby was truly abducted, the abductors could have left the baby in the woods or river, too. It was be negligent of LE not to search the area.

I have three kids, I can't keep them straight. It is still hard sometimes when I talk to people about my youngest because I always say my oldest's name.

On the call he sounds dazed and confused. Like noted by someone else, he stated he was naked and then described what he was wearing.

Then you put that with the info that the neighbors are giving. It all starts seeming weird.

I wasn't able to hear the whole 911 call. Did he say he himself was naked or that the baby was naked?

I believe he said he didn't have nothing on. They asked him again because he sort of mumbled it and then said his shirt was off and that he was wearing jogging pants only.

Amber Alert issued for Indianapolis baby

It has been nearly 30 hours since an Indianapolis man claims two people abducted his six-week-old son in a violent attack. The Amber Alert is still out for Delano Wilson.

Both parents are pleading for their son's return and together they're posting fliers with his picture. Police are also talking to neighbors and using search dogs. Dive teams from the Indianapolis Fire Department and Department of Natural Resources were searching shallow parts of the White River Thursday evening. Police would not say what specifically led them to that area of the White River, only that it was close to where the infant was last seen.

Family of missing infant reacts to his abduction

It’s been a painful two-day span for an Indianapolis mother and father, as police and family search for the suspects who abducted their 6-week-old child.

It happened Wednesday around noon near Harding and Henry Streets. The father, Willie Wilson, told police he was walking with his son, Delano, in that area when two people took the baby at gunpoint.

Wilson told 24-Hour News 8 he was walking around the block for about an hour while on the phone, with his son clutched against his chest. That’s when he said at the edge of this alley, a man pulled up in car and hopped out with a gun. Wilson said the man took the couple’s firstborn son.

Police: Infant abducted in Indianapolis; Amber Alert issued

Police said a baby boy was in extreme danger in a statewide Amber Alert case that began Wednesday.

Delano Wilson was abducted from an alley in the 1400 block of Henry Street (see map below) around noon Wednesday, officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.

Wilson is about 1 month old, 16 inches long and weighs 12 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark-blue onesie.

Police believe he was abducted by an unknown white male who was accompanied by a Latina female.

Wish I would hear something soon to restore my hope for this little one.

Just not sounding good at all.

If LE does not find sweet little Delano tonight, I hope they hold a pressor tomorrow.

We heard over the police scanner tonight of a possible sighting of a car linked to the abduction of a 6-week-old Indianapolis baby on Wednesday. Police believed they spotted the possible suspect's car along I-69 in the Auburn area of NE Indiana. Unfortunately, nothing came of it, and the suspect's vehicle remains at large. The father of Delano Wilson said the child was snatched by two people who attacked him in an Indianapolis alley. The abduction sparked a statewide Amber Alert. We'll keep you posted.

Thinking about this case on the way home today. I wonder if there was some sort of accident with Delano while Mom was at work. Given the experience Dad went through with his daughter in 2012; would he be afraid to call 911 and report it?

That could be a possibility. Has anyone heard where the mother was when this happened? I am not saying she is involved, I am just curious.

I believe the Mom was at work, she mentioned she had just gotten her job 2 days ago.

I mix my kids' names up on an almost daily basis, lol.
I am officially not caring about the gender mix up, the two phones, or the pot. These are the least concerning tidbits, imo. The other stuff is far more alarming, imo.

I have three kids, I can't keep them straight. It is still hard sometimes when I talk to people about my youngest because I always say my oldest's name.

I have twelve kids. Nine of them are girls. If one of my sons were missing, their face would be forefront in my mind... their name... everything.

I know I can't say much, but I watched the video interviews and hers disturbs me the most. She knows what happened to her little newborn baby.

Meanwhile, Delano’s great aunt says the family would like privacy during this difficult time.

“I really don’t care what they believe,” says Lethrice Hamilton. “I really don’t care what they say, because at the end of the day we have God and we have our faith. We know through God we will get him back. So they can keep their opinions. It doesn’t really matter. They have the right to their opinions and that’s fair, but at the end of the day, this is our baby and that’s all we care about. We just want our baby back.”

Hamilton also has a strong message for whoever may have taken young Delano.

“If you have our baby, please understand that we love him with all of our heart and we would do anything to get him back. You don’t even have to show your face. Drop him off at a church. Take him to a fire station. Make an anonymous call where you left him, but give us our baby back. They are hurting entirely too much for this. They want him back. We want him back, and we want him back now.”

The search for missing six week old Delano Wilson is expanding. Thursday police and fire crews searched a wooded area near Oliver and Harding Streets, close to where the infant disappeared.

The Indianapolis Fire Department also put a search and rescue boat into the White River near Washington Street late Thursday afternoon, and bloodhounds were seen searching the bank earlier in the day. IMPD Sgt. Kendale Adams says the search grid is continuing to move west and will resume early Friday morning.

Investigators also spent Thursday interviewing neighbors and comparing their stories to that of the infant’s father, Willie Wilson, who claims a man and woman tried to rob him at gunpoint before hitting him and taking off with the baby in a blue Taurus. Wilson says the abduction happened just after noon Wednesday in an alley in the 1400 block of Henry Street, near the family’s home on Chase Street.

“I can tell you that we will investigate the claims because a child is involved,” says Sgt. Adams. “Do we have some concerns? certainly.”

Is this his mug shot for the possession arrest? He doesn't look like someone who was pistol whipped. I don't see any injuries to support his story. If this is a current picture......

Does anyone beside me find mom's choice of words interesting?

"They've ripped a hole in my heart," she said. I can't sleep. I can't breathe...please bring my son back."

Why would she not ask he be returned? 'bring my son back' doesn't sound right to me.

Her plea set off alarms for me. I this, we that, I, We. What about how Delano feels and his needs? It just seemed to be all about the parents. Maybe I expect too much from generation I, but that got me extremely concerned for the little boy's wellbeing. I hope he's found soon. He's such a precious little guy.
