In order for that theory to make sense, the arsonist(s) would have had to have thought nobody was home. Or at least not the 4 kids. IMO
It is an interesting theory. Could someone set up a fire for insurance reason but honestly believe that the inhabitants would be elsewhere? Say, one of the girls stated in classroom that they were going to spend the night at their aunt’s? Kids fantacize all the time. But someone took it seriously?
P.S. it was a very early morning Monday (basically, night of Sunday to Monday) on November 21. Thanksgiving was November 24. So, 24-27 all US schools were closed by default. To be fair, 23 is already half-day. Could the girls plan to spend the whole thanksgiving weekend at their aunt’s house but erroneously say at school or gymnastics, for example, that they’d be out for the week?
There is a huge difference between insurance crime (fraud) and arson with four victims (mass murder). The groups to look at might be very different. Just a thought.
