GUILTY In - Halee Rathgeber, 20, Fatally Shot, Warrick County, 24 April 2017 *arrest*

The obstruction of justice charge, a level 6 felony, alleges Hagan "altered, damaged or removed" her phone, keys or wallet in an attempt to cover up her killing.

So this makes me think that the motive wasn't robbery. He just set up to look like one. I'm going with either a crime of passion or drug related or a mix. I understand now why some people think because she was a nursing student she wouldn't do drugs. I've seen many times over people throw away their military careers over as little as a joint to lots of pot to cocaine. So sometimes people take risks thinking they won't get caught. If she currently wasn't working at a medical facility then she wouldn't have to worry about drug testing, especially since her school was almost over.

I know many nurses, and doctors, too, that smoke pot. I'm not saying that Halee did, it's just not uncommon at all.

Rohypnol?

Seems this might be a knotted up ball of yarn. We might all be surprised when it starts to unravel.

I think so too. Alot of unsavory characters involved. Scary. JMO.

Hagan's arrest warrant is ordered sealed until May 15. Prosecutor Perry said several search warrant returns were not filed yet. - ECP

Is it standard practice to seal an arrest affidavit when search warrants haven't been returned ?

Not in my experience but I haven't done much state criminal work. You don't have to put all of your evidence in the arrest affidavit - you can just include enough to establish probable cause. If they needed a very detailed affidavit the evidence might be more circumstantial? But the state and the defense often share an interest in keeping the details of the case out of the press until trial.

There has been a lot of discussion on new info but I want to respond to this too. I have been primarily working off of Halees twitter:
https://mobile.twitter.com/haleerathgeber?lang=en

From other threads I've inferred that it's acceptable to vaguely point people toward interesting comments branching off of an authorized source. So I've been trying to do that when I see something of interest which is still to be taken as rumor/opinion.

I wish we could just link what we're talking about but understand TOS / rules / etiquette says no. Like Whiskers I basically read through Halee's twitter and looked at all of the people she tweeted to, and then just followed what looked interesting to me. I also tried to search twitter for anyone around their age who was arrested the past week.

I know most people don't really have the time or inclination to be so nosy and spend hours snooping but I become a video game widow at night when my husband gets caught up in his online games [emoji23].

(OT but if there are any cold cases or more neglected threads that need attention I'd be happy to get involved. Some of the popular ones seem really crowded already!)

I'm honestly not sure I have really seen that in a case that on the surface would normally scream jealous exbf. But I'm not so sure this is one of those cases. I'm wondering if these unreturned search warrants are connected to other individuals or all connected to IH? I guess we will have to wait till May 15th unless other arrests are made before to get the answer. MOO

I'm wondering too and I'm anxious to know more.

Thank you. I can understand why both sides wouldn't want to divulge the details of a case. With social media the way it is it's probably even more important to keep things close. A lot has changed from that perspective from a few years ago. I've heard LE slam social media many times, but I bet it's been a good source of info for them in many cases.

I don't know about anyone else, but I would have a hell of a time sleuthing without social media.

you can definitely gain some personal insight if you have the time and patience to sort through all the :dramaqueen:

I usually end up in a rabbit hole far away from what my original intent was.

Same here, with 15 tabs open--at least. Then I forget to go back to one of the tabs where all of the drama was happening, and by the time I get back there it's been deleted :)

Not to mention, it's legal in some states and more acceptable than it used to be.

Sounds familiar. I also have a habit of saving things to reference or to look at later and when I want it i'm either on a different device or can't find if. I need a WS workflow!

Agree, in many cases we would be lost without SM. On the same hand I'm very conscious of the risk SM presents.. I don't think people even realize how open they are to a complete stranger creeping on them. I was already paranoid but WS has "enhanced" my awareness even more...

I have learned quickly to screenshot everything even remotely interesting because if you don't it will disappear! A profile goes private or an article or comment disappears...

That's smart, I'm going to try to remember to do that. I can't tell you how many times I've lost stuff.
