Found Deceased IN - Jacqueline Watts, 33, Columbus, 3 March 2017

There is always a preliminary examination done right away usually by the coroner or some other medical examiner. You can be assured they already know preliminary cause. To come right out and say it's a homicide, especially on the heals of the Delphi murders would cause mass hysteria.

Likewise, they wouldn't come right out and say suicide or accident without the ME, either.

They were very careful to avoid using words referencing a crime in the press conference.

Neighbors saw her following the dog.

Reference the bump by Perfectingpink-we can't take whatever someone on Facebook said as fact because it's just rumor unless mentioned by MSM..so we don't know that's what happened.

Maybe websleuths isn't for you, or you misunderstand what we do here.

Please delete that FB post pic. We can only discuss LE official statements or anything stated as fact in mainstream news stories.

Could be but, before reaching the river to fall in she had to have left her car running at a certain distance with her things inside. Even if she was after a stray dog as I read some pages ago, as far as she realized that to catch the dog she had to go further and further, she certainly would turn back, park the car and lock it and then with her purse, go for the dog. Even so it doesn't make much sense, does it? And it was daylight! How could she have fell? Hmmm... this case is very strange. I don't believe suicide, it doesn't appear an accident...

It doesn't make sense at all. I also agree that we don't know who opened the side door and turned the hazards on

All you guys are doing is tossing out the suicide card, and the foul play card... none of the posts here are fact. It's all speculation, so it sure seemed like anything could be discussed, since nobody here knows the facts.

I am strongly thinking about other possibilities since my last post.

Is there any possibility that her supposed trip to DC was something she wanted to avoid?

Family issues?

The posts about her committing suicide are disturbing, to be sure.

I think if the police were actively processing a 'crime' scene the LE presence would be a lot more noticeable and persistent. I don't think they would be retrieving the barrier tape just yet. I also think the tone of the presser would have been completely different had there been ANYTHING to suggest to them that there was a perpetrator at large (related to the Delphi case or not).

I think LE will get some help with this one from CCTV footage. There are million dollar homes along that stretch and from street view we can see many have front doors with clear vantage points to the road.

I believe I saw live video a few hours ago that show LE is still processing the scene. They have stated they are still actively investigating

Please take a minute to read the rules. My last post to you.

Read the top of page 11... or just the rules, that would work too.

I know an autopsy was mentioned for Monday, has any mention by LE been made about checking her cell phone for any messages? Or her handbag for any clues?

I don’t think she was ever in that water. This article says her body was found on a sandbar BY the Flatrock River.

The Columbus Police Department say officers found Jacqueline Watts’ body Saturday morning on a sandbar by the Flatrock River in the city’s Noblitt Park.

Well if it was flowing it would have washed her up on the sandbar so there is definitely a possible situation where she slipped on a cold wet rock and lost balance and drowned.

To clarify:
-we can discuss possible causes of death, and events that may have played a part. Along to that discussion we can bring facts from LE or MSM but NOT rumors from SM. We can state theories or possible scenarios as opinions.
Our facts so far include an abandoned car and a retrieved body.
Our theories can include any scenarios that fit around our facts...

I would hate it if new WSers got offended and left because they thought they were being censored...it's all about fact v's rumor
:)

Well, it looks exactly like the area that Libby & Abby and Lyric & Elizabeth were found.

WTH

I agree about the age differential. I had only briefly heard about Jacqueline being missing, and came to investigate it since the proximity to the 2 girls murders is within geographical range.

IMO the age difference doesn't mean a different MO. JW is no bigger than Abby the body type fits the MO. If you saw JW drive by I bet you'd think she was18-21. IMO

It wasn't suicide. She tried to help a stray. She fell in the water. It's freezing and the current got her. No foul play suspected.

Can you provide a link where the police have stated this? Thank you.

"Harris would not comment on whether police believe foul play was involved, citing the ongoing investigation.

“At this point we’re not sure,” Harris said. “We’re going to follow where the facts lead us.”"

My wife and I went to this very spot in the Flatrock in Columbus. Our dog played in the water by the sandbar. She didn't even get her belly wet. How can one drown in water they can stand up in?

A few questions

Anyone know what this is (red arrow pointing) in the northwest corner of that lake by the road where she parked her car?

Also, is that a trail running east-west north of that lake west of Riverside in the map posted by CrimeDawg123?

What sort of neighborhood is that (the houses to the east of Riverside) next to the lake? Good/bad?
