Found Deceased IN - Jacqueline Watts, 33, Columbus, 3 March 2017

But what in her behavior or anything about her suggests she was depressed, mentally ill or suicidal? She just dropped her animals off so she could catch a flight on a trip with her husband. No reports she was unhappy or had problems. Seem so to love life.

And people typically don't leave doors open to their cars and hazard lights on when they've walked somewhere closeby to kill themselves. I've never heard of anything of like that.

They do, but when she is running to jump off a bridge. I doubt J ran and jumped in the river...

Didn't someone upthread have a map that showed the parents home and distance from it? I find it hard to believe that we didn't catch somewhere that she was "found a few feet from her parents house?"

I did a little digging on the infamous "chasing the dog" post. What went viral was a woman that "cut and copied" that snippet, then posted it on HER facebook. HER post is the one that went viral. The woman that copied or posted it, has no ties to the family and she did not copy who it was originally from, the snippet did not contain the original poster name, so there is no way of knowing who exactly posted the original..to my knowledge at least.

Is anyone local? Are there any pics of the bank? Is it very steep? I guess I'm still wondering how, in broad daylight, she would have run right off a steep embankment, knocked herself unconscious at the very least, and then what? dragged herself into the water and drowned?

I hope they tell us tomorrow.

Just got back from taking my dog again to the very spot in the Flatrock. We went in the river. Very shallow. you would have to fall on your face and knock yourself out to drown in that water.

So, again, that theory makes no sense.

Maybe she had a medical condition and died from it and nothing else?

Several of us have tracked down the original post from the original woman. The time I gave in my comments several posts ago is the time the original post about dog/river/drown was made.

Thanks everyone. A lot of good posts here and much to think about.

Interesting about this river , Jacobite !
So that makes one think she didn't drown but was maybe placed there ?

I don't know her so it's just an opinion based on the most likely scenario of what happened in these types of situations. Of course it could be a number of things

Here is the map I made. Is this one you are referring to? Parents exact address is purposely omitted at this time.

Is there a sand bar on the dam side?

Look up Leanne Hecht Bearden from Garden Ridge, Texas. She took cash and credit cards with her and hung herself. She had a telephone interview for a job an hour after she left for a " brief stroll".

It happens.

It's possible that her car was left there by someone else.

This is also what I think. She stopped quickly, threw on flashers and opened the door so she could put the doggy in quickly. I also do not think she thought she'd be far from the car so she left her purse.
This does not explain, however, how she ended up dead so far from her car.

So Flatrock has a bend in it?

... ok. So the dog theory:

She sees lost/injured/her own dog. Throws car in park, leaves engine running and car open with purse and phone inside and:

A) runs due west, falls in river, drowns and floats over the dam and lands on sandbar? Dead bodies don't float until gasses build up weeks later.

B) gets tunnel vision, determined to save animal, and runs 1/2 mile to the sand bar, trips, falls, hits head, drowns? Head injury? Medical condition?

I don't get it at all..

So sorry for your losses, AFTM and Jashrema.

So true, one cannot live in fear constantly. At best, one can be mindful though I am the first to admit that is not always possible especially in sudden instances when something is least expected to happen.

I am a strong advocate of women carrying a can of mace or a gun with them in their handbags for self-defense.

Being always aware and taking various safety precautions is more helpful than a gun. Although mace could be used in various situations. That's because typically predators attack suddenly and often talk from behind or the side, giving you no time to grab, load, aim and shoot a gun. Guns are good for times when you have warning. Like when someone is trying to break in and you know they're coming. Or in certain domestic violence cases where the ex is threatening you and banging on the door or windows or following you in a car.

Otherwise predators just surprise a woman. They either aren't visible until the moment of attack or aren't acting obviously threatening until they're on you.

No, women and children need to learn various precautions to take and how to react if attacked. Being always aware and trusting your gut are two important parts of that.

Wasn't it cold that day?

Dog theory makes absolutely no sense at all.
