The Flat Rock River was apparently a part of the Kleine family tradition. From The Republic 07052002.

Thanks for those nice posts, almagata.
So sad now -- they were so happy then.

I wonder what year that 4th of July clipping was?

...just googled -- I think it was 2002...

Maybe something stressful happened in her life and it was 'the last straw' ??
Or suffering from depression ?

We also have NO idea if she 'chased a dog.' IMO that's pure speculation. I've read nothing from LE or MSM that she was witnessed by anyone chasing a stray dog. And even if she did, you have no idea if she was the type to stop her car, leave it running and go chasing after a stray dog. IMO this 'stray dog' thing is a rumor from SM and people are bringing it here and running with it, as if it were fact, and it's really detracting from the facts we do know about this sad case. IMO

Right, it sounds like you've stopped to chase a very very few dogs. I'm really not trying to be disrespectful, I'm pointing out that she has a different mindset than you do. When LE investigates something, it's important that they look at the person's own habits, and not determine that she wouldn't have gone chasing a dog because most people wouldn't have done that. Once you learn that she WOULD be likely to do that thing most people don't do, you have to toss out the "most people's habits" line of thinking. I've chased well over 100 dogs. We don't know how much time she had before her flight - she could have thought she had time to grab the dog, read the tags, call the owner and take the dog to her parent's house.

Correct. But, the fact we have is that LE does not suspect foul play. Unless the autopsy suggests otherwise or they have discovered new information overnight, I expect we will hear that explanation that they want the public to know at the press conference. The dog theory is more likely than foul play and maybe as likely as suicide or medical emergency given the facts we know

And as someone said (sorry don't know how to quote separate posts)

If you mean "multiply quotes" on one reply - look at the right side at the bottom of each post/comment, you see these buttons:

Thanks Reply Reply With Quote Multi-Quote - this last one is actually a picture of quotes " " with a +

Hit that far button, until you want to quote a last comment, for the last comment to quote hit the Reply With Quote button instead! Traaaa!! :online:

and FTR (thanks for explaination!) I would open my BACK door to let the dog in, not in front.... and I would NOT leave my car running with my purse and keys in it. At least I would put my purse under my seat.

But I have to agree with b]iluvmua[/b] I don't think she was chasing a stray.

 to you AFTM! Sorry to hear about your sister. :rose:

Sorry :offtopic:

I am sorry for your loss also. We are kindred souls...Victims in away... I was on my way to where my sister worked that night...I pulled my car over and sat in the dark rain awhile and changed my mind about meeting her. I even remember the song on the radio as I sat there. I turned around went home and just sat there while my poor sister was being murdered....

Do you mind my asking - when you pulled over and sat there awhile - did you have a bad feeling/premonition of "NOT to go to where she worked", otherwise you too would have been murdered? And if I could ask, what song was playing on the radio?
If you don't mind my asking! another  for you!

You all have been busy - have 300 more posts to read.... so

What if...

J died from an accident while avoiding potential foul play?

Could she have been chased by someone?

The area where her car was left, the woods, the weir (again, can that be crossed on by foot? if she did, maybe slip and fall onto the sandbar?), the railroad tracks.....

Yes I know it sounds like a scene from a movie but one never knows.....

Personally I don't believe Jacqueline's case is connected to A&L case...

I have an update from family who know Jackie's parents and the neighbors. No one is suspecting any kind of malice. In hindsight the police used the word suspicious too soon. It was just a terrible, terrible accident as she tried to save a stray. There's actually a pretty steep drop off where the woods meet the river. She fell or hit or head or something and tragically was found just a few feet from where her parents live.
Hopefully this puts minds at rest.

But I "see" you are not a "verified insider" for this case, so we must consider your post as "rumor" - sorry! But I hope you're right!

Oops - just saw this:

Hiandmighty]That is not an update though. That is what the woman on FB said. And then LE issued a statement not to believe rumors on FB.
And actually, the distance makes no sense either.
Its awful for her family either way and we are all hoping she didn't meet her fate violently.

Not reading anything on FB - so didn't know this. darkhorse, you should get verified as an insider - I don't think it's too hard to do. Link:

Then we can "take your word for it!"

from the article on post #429 by Margarita
According to the Republic, the location where her body was found is about a half hour
from where the car was abandoned.
The spot has residential homes that line the river, and Jackie was found as the result of a group search, the news site reported.

re bold - does that mean a half hour WALK from body to car?? Doesn't make sense - the sentence that is!?!

Just got back from taking my dog again to the very spot in the Flatrock. We went in the river.

Pictures! On your post #445 - is that "looking at the sandbar" ?

I also don't see her chasing a stray dog that far - 1/2 a mile - I don't think she was chasing a dog - something else....

another 200 post to read.... :pcguru:

From this map, Jackie's body was found very close to her parents' backyard. It makes more sense that someone grabbed her outside her parents' house, dumped her body yards away on the sandbar, and then drove her car 1/2 mile and abandoned it. Now I wonder if the K9 only searched the area near the abandoned car and that's why it couldn't track Jackie's scent to find her body.

Good theory. I looked up the 300 block for Flatiron - personally don't know the exact address of her parents/or in-laws, but the 300 block is at the end of Newsom Ave. So pretty close to where her body was found.

I haven't seen a timeline yet either...

okay - it's Monday - and probably about 7:15am in Indiana. When does the ME get to work there??

Is Indiana Central Time - I ask as I am in Eastern European time... I'm ahead in the future 7 hours from the East coast! :)

A press conference has been scheduled for tomorrow at Noon.

Meaning Monday.

I haven't refreshed this page yet, so don't know if your question was answer:

Newspaper dot com or it could be Newspapers dot com. I found a bunch on my family from the 1950s! You might have a "free" 30-day trial, just cancel subscription before 30 days, and it's free! :)

When you need to know what time it is somewhere else, just google "What time is it in Indiana" and across the top of your screen in big bold letters, it will show the time. The time there right now is 8:47 a.m.

Unless she slipped and hit her head, the only other scenerio would be suicide.

Why didn't the police helicopter sent out on Friday spot Jackie in the shallow Flatrock River or on the sandbar? She was only 1/2 mile from her car and was last seen wearing a gray top and black stretch pants. She should have been obvious against the light tan color of the sandbar and riverbed.

It is possible she was higher upstream where the water is 6'+ and she was near the bottom at the time the helicopter was out. It was also dark.
