http://tristatehomepage.comE (9:50pm) The Gibson Co. Sheriff's Office and Dispatch confirms Jason Perry is being held on a preliminary charge of murder tonight. He was brought to the Gibson Jail this afternoon. The Princeton PD has been investigating the death of a woman gunned down shortly after noon today.It happened in the parking lot of Los Azteca Restaurant in Princeton. No age is being given on Perry and the name of the victim has not been released.

Sure hope I did this right. Never started a thread but, this is a friend of mine and our community is devastated.

It was shocking. A mother, who was taking her son to lunch to celebrate his graduation is gunned down right outside the busy restaurant. Just as shocking is that friends who knew the victim well say what happened on Wednesday was not unexpected.

Jason Perry of Princeton gets an 85-year prison sentence for the murder of his ex-girlfriend last year.

He had pleaded guilty to murder earlier this year.

Police say Perry found the victim, Jessica Tice, outside a Princeton restaurant on May 22, 2013 while she was walking with their 13-year-old son and shot her twice. He used a shotgun at close range.

Painful memories are still haunting the family of Jesica Tice, a woman gunned down three years ago, but her family and friends say her legacy lives on.

Tice's ex-boyfriend, Jason Perry, is currently serving an 85-year prison sentence for shooting and killing Tice.

Despite their heartache, her loved ones aren't letting the community forget Tice.

They created "Speak Up of Gibson County," a group dedicated to stopping domestic violence.

"She would be proud," Brown says. Through vigils, purple lights and word of mouth, they're making sure victims of domestic violence know that there is help.
