Does anyone know the smoking laws in Warrick County? I know most counties in Indiana have smoking ban laws. Some Indiana counties ban smoking inside any public place including bars. I believe some counties allow smoking in bars. Does anyone know if Kristy smokes? Could she have stepped outside for a minute to have a cigarette? That would explain why she didn't tell the bartender she was leaving. Someone could have come up to her while she was outside and asked her for a ride or attacked her.

Good question hadn't thought of that.

In CT where I am, VFWs are considered private property and normal public smoking laws dont apply. Due to being private, the owner would decide whether they allow indoor smoking or not. Though in this case, I have seen no indication that KK is a smoker. But along the same lines, when (very rarely) I have had too much to drink, I sometimes go outside for fresh air to feel better. Maybe she did the same?

You can s smoke in the bar but not the bingo hall.

The smoking laws are very confusing in Indiana. In Evansville (which is in another county but very close to Boonville) they banned smoking everywhere including the VFW. The only place smoking that was exempt from the law was the casino because it is on a riverboat. There have been lawsuits back and forth and the law has been changed a couple times. I honestly don't know the status of the law in my own county.

I agree that I have not heard anything that points to Kristy being a smoker. I know a lot of people that don't normally smoke except when they are drinking. But there has been nothing that indicates Kristy was a smoker at all. Going outside for fresh air is also a possibility. I also thought about the possibility that maybe she needed to pay her tab and forgot her money. Maybe she left to see if her purse was in her car. This is all just speculation of course. I just started thinking about how she left without telling the bartender and tried to think of a few possible reasons.

I have also had the idea that a possible suspect could be an angry pharmacy customer. There is a huge meth problem in southern Indiana and I feel like there is a lot of pressure put on pharmacy workers. I have witnessed some tense interactions between pharmacy workers and customers recently due to the Indiana laws on buying Sudafed. (Sudafed is an ingredient in meth and it is still over the counter in Indiana but you have to sign a registry. It is very obvious that customers and pharmacy workers are both extremely annoyed by this registry law.) I feel like the pharmacy workers get put in a bad situation and I always feel bad that they have to deal with that. I checked and Kristy does have a pharmacy technician license so she probably did work in the pharmacy area. I checked because half the workers at CVS just work in the front area and don't deal with the pharmacy. I also noticed Kristy got a bartenders license in 2012.

I still think it is a huge possibility she had an accident, but the longer it goes without her car being found the more I am considering other options. This is all just opinion and speculation.

Hello...I'm new to this forum,...sorry to just barge in :)
I was getting up to speed and looking at the very first pic provided of Kristy, the one I presume was from the night she went missing, (she is wearing a black and white striped tank top as per the description of what she was wearing). The blonde man behind her seems to be smoking inside the bar.

Do we know if she was a pharmacy worker, or simply worked in a pharmacy, such as a Walgreens, CVS?

Also, assuming she left the bar on her own (which I am, right now) and did not tell her friend, then maybe she was off to meet someone who friend(s)? disapproved of? Or friend(s)had advised her not to drive? Small dispute?

She does have an Indiana pharmacy technician license. It is in her maiden name but it is still active. Since she has that license I am guessing she probably did work in the pharmacy area of the CVS. It is possible she worked in the non pharmacy area of the store, but most likely she worked in the actual pharmacy area as a technician.

That was quite a week, wasn't it? I can't believe it's been two years ago this week. I still think about Jessi and Jacob a lot. Especially when a case like Kristy's comes up. I know the circumstances aren't really the same, but my brain is trying to connect them.

Jacob and Jessi's murders were kind of random but not random, you know? Jacob probably recognized Coston as someone who lived down the road, but didn't really know him well. Still, he probably thought it was OK to give him a ride. I wonder if something similar happened to Kristy. She saw someone she recognized, or maybe went to meet someone she knew, but didn't know very well. She thought they were OK, let them get in her vehicle, and then things went bad.

O/T

I still think of Jake and Jessi often....rip I can't even imagine what nightmares their families still go through

Thanks so much for all your posts! Glad to see you!

I think they need a group to come in with side sonar and start searching stripper pits for her car.

I am not familiar with stripper pits. Can someone explain how big they are and what they are? TIA!!

I know a picture is just a split second moment in time, and sometimes it doesn't tell a story at all. But the pic of Kristy taken the night of her disappearance, (post #1), wearing the striped b&white sleeveless top is telling me a little piece of a story.
It's not a selfie, someone else took it. In that moment she looks like she is trying to give the camera a happy-smiley image, but it doesn't seem sincere to me at all. Studying her fb pics, it seems like the young woman is meticulous about looking fresh, her makeup is SO precise you'd swear she was a makeup artist, especially with her eye makeup.
In this pic it looks to me as if she could have been crying. Either that or a girl that is normally very concious of her looks didn't care much that night.
I don't want to sound negative, but one of the first things that occurred to me was depression. Just an opinion.
