Most of the stuff that was posted in here as far as her not saying anything to the bartender before she left and the "small dispute" came from the girl that with her that night...

Right, and the girl that was with her left earlier than Kristy did, so how would she know what Kristy said or didn't say after she was gone ?
If she wasn't there, then she wasn't a witness to what transpired when Kristy finished up in the bathroom and left.

Is this the area they used to call lovers lane? Maybe it still is called that? Looks like alot of woods back there. I guess because she was down on the east end of town I think if someone took off to the country with her they would take one of these north roads. Im available all this week to go search. I just dont know where.

That does look like Lover's Lane, though it isn't necessarily wooded. It has some trees around and some not too savory looking houses. It's close to Scales Lake, though. I've searched that area myself by car and partially on foot.

Ive searched 65 acres back there on foot. Very interesting place, very hidden and its an old mining road that doesnt show on google maps. Several little pits back there. Didnt see anything alarming though.

Yeah, I have to wonder. We have heard very little from LE in this case. It feels different or weird to me. Where is the news conferences, state police, etc? I have a feeling they know some big, key bit of information that we are not hearing.

I am still firmly stuck at this being an accident until they find her car. It's not that I don't think there could be other possible scenarios, it's just that I feel that has to be ruled out. I'm not convinced it has. Do we know anything about her earlier accident? I know there was talk of her having an accident and her air bag and dash not being fully fixed. I would love to know the details of that.

I have to agree, i think they know a lot more and for whatever reason remaining tight lipped. I sense a change in the mood lately. I was also looking up search info on in the SAR manual. Sat. seemed more like a grid search. SAR manual basically states that grid searches are used to find evidence in criminal investigations and also to get untrained searchers "out of the way".

I think its a good sign that they arent talking. For one that indicates to me that they possibly dont need much of the publics help in solving this case because remaining tight lipped is a good way to lose public interest, im sure they know that. Also information spreads extremely quickly in this town. Nothing ever happens here so when something does happen everybody's talking. They wouldnt want info getting back to those responsible, if that's the case.

I must admit I am surprised that news has not kept up with the searches etc. The family are reporting to be meeting at Studio Bee again this morning at 9am.

Locals, thank you for searching out in this terrible heat. You are all awesome. :)

Are you allowed to say where you've been searching the past couple of days?

Im not talking about speculation etc. Im talking about attacking other groups and organizations claiming they are just after PR. Ive already seen another awareness group that is upset about it and these people have been out busting their tails taking time from their own families to search in this heat. They are from a different county. They have about 14 people administrating the page now. One of them my son went to school with and she is a nice girl too. I dont know exactly who is doing this but I think its tacky. Warrick county is a very difficult search area and they need everyone they can get.

I actually haven't seen a lot of this. There are over 8000 people on that Facebook page and for people who haven't tried to wrangle an internet circus before, it has been overwhelming for some of the admins. They are being harassed privately, and trying to work full time while policing the page so a little crankiness Is to be expected. Still, people don't listen and yesterday were posting a bunch of crazy stuff over there. They did trim back the number of admins and it seems to have helped but it's going to be hard to stop the influx of not so helpful advice.

I know the family has complained about people using this situation for PR for other groups, but we don't know what those circumstances are. I don't think they would turn away anyone that also has a missing loved one and are trying to help, unless that person was causing more trouble or work. Let's face it, these things draw all sorts out of the woodwork, and not all of them are helpful to the situation. They can use the help, but not help that is going to distract from their goal of finding Kristy.

And it really is a circus. I feel so bad for the admins. People just can't hold back from gossiping and asking dumb questions. "Have they looked at her cell phone or her bank accounts yet?" Brilliant, Sherlock! But, seriously, I keep wondering why they don't just post a link to a blog for those interested in helping so that they can control the output of information and disable comments. That way everyone still knows where to go and when to be there and they still have a way to update and thank everyone for helping. I would suggest it on the fb page but I'm not even going to become a member. The mass of people AND the organizations should really just cut them some slack. They have got to be at their wits end trying to manage all of this and they've done an amazing job getting the word out and bringing in volunteers. I've not seen this amount of efforts for any of the other missing women. I am from Evansville and I've seen hardly anything for Joelle here but I see Kristy on electronic billboards, fliers, buzz, etc every day.

I also agree with you all about LE being tight lipped right now and hoping this is a good sign. I'm getting tired of going back and forth about what I think about this one. I am just so anxious to get NEW information because it all seems very stagnant right now with only guesses to go on.

Imo these FB pages are seldom particularly useful in finding the missing. They are good at initially spreading the word, and flyers, but often end up as prayer pages, where nothing much else is wanted. And really, no one should make use of an FB page with any real information, that much should be obvious. And then you get the usual "did police check her phone"? , duh. Kind of like rewards, you have to post one but you can't really expect to see results from it. Jmo

Kristy was supposed to go to SS with her friends. Why didnt she? Then she made plans with bartender and for unknown reason left without even telling her.Could she have been hanging at VFW hoping someone showed up? It appears she didnt want go with any of these people. She then leaves phone behind and disappears when no one is watching and her and her car not seen since. What does this all mean?

  • #633
One thing just crossed my mind. Could she have been interested in someone thats in a complicated situation and when he didnt show up decided to go looking for him?

  • #634
It is incredibly strange, LE are tight lipped, media apart from when NG and JVM tried with the conspiracy theory. Should the search be expanded much further? I hope for the family she is found soon along with joelle lockwood.

One thing we have heard nothing about. Her computer.

That's an interesting thought. Kristy's mother said in an interview early on that Kristy wasn't dating anyone but it's come to light recently (at least for me) that she has been dating a guy for 4 months (and that guy is helping with the search). I wonder if she was cheating on him with another guy, maybe a guy who's married/dating someone else. Or maybe the boyfriend of 4 months was more just a casual boyfriend and it wasn't actually cheating but just seeing another guy as well.

One more thing. Why would a woman whose scheduled to work a double stay out so late?

Since you guys have been out in the field searching, and you have seen the number of people volunteering and what not, what are your feelings on whether or not this could have been an accident ? You know, she flipped her vehicle and is laying off in a ditch somewhere ? Personally, I think the chances are almost zero with this many eyes looking and searching and retracing steps. But, I'm not there and I am not familiar with the terrain out in the rural areas.

Also, about how many miles would you say they have fanned out from the FVW with their search crews ?

Because booze has a way of making people do things they normally wouldn't do ??

I think at this age, when your friends all have kids, that you take your friend-time when you can get it. If they happened to be able to go out that night (they have kids, too) and her kids were with her ex then that probably just made it a good night for them to meet and kick up their heels. Doesn't sound like she regularly goes clubbing late at night. I've gotten together with friends who I don't get to catch up with very often since we're all mothers now and we've stayed out late (1:00 ish) knowing we don't get to do that often despite all having to get up early for various things the next morning. So from my point of view, staying out that late doesn't seem too odd. Going out to another bar afterward is pushing it...but it sounds like she possibly felt it was pushing it, too, and didn't want to go. of course maybe she was intercepted but it looks *possible* that she thought better of it and headed home.
