Now, I have gotten down my street and looked for it and then had to turn back around because it was on the charger or something. But, I have never kept my phone in my purse.

My phone is the first thing I miss when I get in my car if I left it in the house. I have a habit of placing it before I start the car.

Does Vfw have board members? How many people have keys?Could her phone have been placed there by someone else?

Not ignoring you but have no clue! Good questions. Still, iirc the cleaning person placed the phone on a shelf in the restroom (didn't turn it in) and nobody cared about whose phone it was until they heard Kristy was missing late the following day. That seems so lame. Not one other woman used the restroom anytime the next day? Something seems illogical about the phone story imo.

They hadnt drank enough beer to go pee? Good point about the bathroom. It doesnt make sense.

I'm not tied to my cellphone because I'm at home a lot. When I go out, I want to know my phone is handy for various reasons. I place it where I'll have quick access to it. I'd notice right away if I didn't have it while in my car.

Well that's another story - lol! Maybe not as it was during the day though but still the employee/s would need to go at some time. If they're open to 4:00 a.m. normally (can't believe that), what time do they open? Maybe the VFW doesn't open until late afternoon. Do they have a Friday fish fry? Friday could be a busy time at the VFW.

Considering that Kristy left the bartender without saying goodbye and had plans to meet her friends at SS, it seems strange that she wouldn't think about her phone at all. I am pretty much attached to my phone and usually have it in my hand when I walk out the door. The only times I have forgotten to grab it is when things are a little hurried when I am leaving. For example, when I take my kids to school in the morning. Or when I'm running late.

Also, I use my phone as a clock. It doesn't matter that I have a million clocks in my house or one in my car. I check my phone for the time.

Maybe no one entered the bathroom after Kristy except a cleaner and he/she may have put it someplace and when they heard she was missing, told LE it was left in the bathroom. I don't feel like leaving the phone behind is a big deal, or involved in anything. And maybe she was a bit drunk so did not notice right away.

I am surprised there was nothing of consequence, apparently, on her phone though. I thought she would have made or received a last call or text to indicate if she had any other ideas besides going straight home.

Anyway, I seldom know where my phone is but I am sure I am not typical in that.

It was stated that the phone was found the next morning. I dont find this odd because it is very possible that the cleaning person had already cleaned the bathroom prior to KK using it. She was the last patron in there and they were closing early, so he probably started cleaning early too. The only reason I would see to have waited to start cleaning the bathroom until after she left is if she was super obviously drunk (which I dont believe she was) and there was a good possibility that she would mess up the bathroom (ie: vomiting)

Did she only have one phone?

The pits are what is left after an area has been strip mined. I was absolutely shocked the first time I saw a strip mine. It was HUGE!!! When the mine is abandoned it turns into a man made lake. I honestly don't know much about it, but I know the pits can be huge. And they are usually in very remote areas. Sometimes turned into an area where people go to hunt or fish.

I went fishing as a little girl with my grandmothers companion (they did not marry) who I considered my godfather. They are truly enormous and there are many sites with large drop offs. We are talking over 30 years ago that I was last there, but I remember them vividly because they were kind of scary!

Maybe he cleaned before she went in there...he probably thought they were leaving soon, as planned. Just not seeing the phone as an issue, but who kmows.

My thought is when a woman has small children, she's even more diligent about keeping her phone handy.
Obviously that's how I think but realize everyone isn't the same.

I've looked high and low and can't find the hours of operation for the VFW anywhere. They just joined FB in May of this year.

OMG, I'm laughing really hard. I read your grandmother and companion are truly enormous!

I was wondering about this too - why info isn't readily available about the VFW.

It's a conspiracy to drive us out of our minds trying to figure it all out. ;)

I do not know of any bars or clubs in Indiana that stay open until 4am. Most close at 2am and dance clubs or rowdier places stay open until 3am. Very rare for anything to be open @ 4am except Waffle House or 24 hour Wal-Mart. JMO
