But even her parents (her mom I believe) said Kristy and her phone are always together. Kristy has two little kids.
Never thought I'd say this to bessie but I'm thinking the opposite!

Most of us have our phones with us at all times, but that doesn't mean we don't forget about them. In fact, the things we use the most often are also the most likely to get misplaced. Keys, phones, sunglasses, purses...we carry them everywhere, so there is greater risk of them being left somewhere.

I am surprised there was nothing of consequence, apparently, on her phone though. I thought she would have made or received a last call or text to indicate if she had any other ideas besides going straight home.

Anyway, I seldom know where my phone is but I am sure I am not typical in that.

It's possible that there was something of consequence on the phone but LE hasn't told us about it yet.

And I'm constantly looking for my phone. I miss calls half the time because I can't locate the phone in time to answer it. :)

He would probably have let her in for her phone, if she made it back there. I don't think she did. Somehow she got sidetracked, ran into someone she knew or went off the road. Or maybe left it on purpose. We just don't know much of anything.

I'm starting to think she did not go back for the phone, but went somewhere else. I mean, most of us are kind of stuck on this narrative of "she realized she forgot the phone and went back for it," but what if that is not the case? What if she went somewhere else? Maybe she got a text while she was still at the VFW from someone who wanted to meet up. So she leaves quickly, but stops by the bathroom first, where she accidentally leaves her phone behind.

This is flying the s end of Dale and its still there and moving more s now toward Lincoln state park and holiday world area.

They could be searching for Joelle Lockwood, too.

Good point! I've kinda gotten myself in a rut in my way of thinking about this. On the FB page, a text is mentioned towards the bottom. It doesn't say what time it came in, who it was to or from or whether she had made plans with this person. Just that it was a text with someone on a specific street but that that person (a "he") said he hadn't seen her.

Maybe she was in the bathroom and got sick from drinking too much.. Sometimes when I get sick all I want is my own bathroom and bed! Maybe she rushed out from the bathroom to leave and get home, that's why she didn't say goodbye to the bartender and forgot her phone... And then something happened after she left.. Either the was someone in the parking lot or on the road home.

Ariel searches would be the most promising way in this area to spot her car. If its in a pit it may never be found.:(. Too many of them. Without a specific tip I dont see side sonar being used.

Yeah, I'm hearing a low flying plane right now too. I'm not sure if that's the one over Dale or not.. I don't think it would be that loud over here by Scales. One just flew by pretty close/low. Maybe they have a few planes out today.

Maybe no one entered the bathroom after Kristy except a cleaner and he/she may have put it someplace and when they heard she was missing, told LE it was left in the bathroom. I don't feel like leaving the phone behind is a big deal, or involved in anything. And maybe she was a bit drunk so did not notice right away.

BBM. I feel the same way. I have a really hard time believing there isn't something on that phone that would give LE some sort of insight or angle..

Yes 88keys, it totally makes sense. But, what I'm having a hard time with is reconciling that these "normal" things happened all on the night that she disappeared. Kristy gets into a "dispute", leaves her phone behind in the bathroom, and then doesn't say goodbye to the bartender. I can't help but feel that at least one of these things has something to do with it. I'm always up for being wrong, and I am often, but these things just seem like too much of a coincidence to me. Those "normal things" just strike me as odd considering they happened right before she disappeared. I just don't think we can look at anything as a "normal" occurrence. We have to look at everything that happened that night BEFORE she went missing. KWIM?

In any case, I would hope that if someone was going to disappear...it wouldn't be one of those times (that we all have) when they misplaced their phone. Unless Kristy didn't want anyone to find her. And in that case, it all seems to make sense to me. For the record, I don't think that's the case. But again, I've been wrong too many times to count.

Only the not saying good-be part worries me the most. That seems the most eerie to me.

If she had said good-bye and then disappeared, I would assume an accident. But not saying good-bye and then disappearing, that leaves more questions about the scenario.

Possibly there is a person and LE isnt letting it out because they havent found any evidence yet.

I totally get where you are coming from, Texasgirl. The dispute...her leaving the cellphone (and I had to laugh that everything you said about the cellphone is pretty much exactly what I've been thinking -- and your cellphone behaviors are much like mine)...her not telling her VFW friend she was heading out...those elements all gnaw at me as well.

Do any of those elements specifically point to what happened? No, not necessarily. Do they, like someone else mentioned, just contribute to her later actions (like indirect causal effect)? Yes, that could very well be. Or are they all (or some of them) unrelated facts that ultimately haven't got a darn thing to do with whatever has happened? I certainly don't know. We just don't have enough concrete info, IMHO.

In the JH case, it was those odd little elements -- a chain of them, like here -- that also bugged me (but, in that case, those elements could also be "explained away" with decent logic -- it just was not how I was thinking about/looking at the meaning of them)...and with the JH case, I felt that same unease with that (for me) string of elements that were troubling that I thought may tell the story...her buying the sleeping pills/the gas/cellphone shut off, etc. Sadly :(. In that case, all those things argubly could have been "normal" or certainly adequately explained to draw different conclusions, but the elements didn't feel right to me, and my gut kept telling me why...as much as I kept trying to come up with other conclusions.

So coming off the JH case, I admittedly may be stuck-stuck-stuck on these elements bothering me in this particular case (maybe I am, again, thinking they tell a story when they simply do not)...people are so different and cases are unique. But still...

I completely relate to how you're feeling about these elements with Kristy -- how they gnaw at you.

I want more info, as I am sure we all do. Like that text message...and any fallout from that dispute...two things that may be key.

YES! You put it exactly the way I was thinking, Think (cubed). Thank you for expressing it the way I couldn't quite get it across. :)

Do planes still fly over the corn fields looking for marijuana grows this time of year? Not sure if they still use that many resources with it becoming more acceptable.

I heard it for about 20 min when I posted it but nothing now. I could hear it moving south away from me.

That could be one reason why some land owners have been hesitant about allowing their property be searched as well.

No, you got it across just fine!!

Now if they would just hand over that cellphone to all of us and let us interview everyone from that evening, we'd all be feeling much more equipped. LOL. ;)

Totally. Why don't they trust us? I can keep a secret!
