I haven't seen anything to indicate where the bother lives.

This is on the SW side of Indianapolis with some housing and industrial areas near.

Most of the info we have is, IIRC, from the family and not IMPD. Hm.
ETA: and that info from IMPD is that they’re not searching the lake at this time. Are they organizing any of the searching *at all* or is it entirely family/volunteer?

Him driving on a donut tire with children riding in the car scares me more than night fishing with 3 toddlers.
I live in a suburb of Indianapolis and frequently drive in the city. It is very common to see vehicles with one or more donut tires in Indianapolis.

I have seen vehicles with four donut tires. I’ve been passed on the interstate by a vehicle with two donut tires on the passenger side.

If someone needs a tire they can buy a donut tire for next to nothing at a junkyard or on Craigslist.

Having a donut tire is not uncommon.

Again I did not say riding on a donut is uncommon. I'm saying it is unsafe and worrisome.

At this time it is all family organized searches.

Per WTHR:

Natasha is his bio mom.

"We've searched every place we could think. There's not a fishing hole or a pay lake, creek that we have not been to and looked," said Natasha Hayes, Kyle Moorman's biological mother. ....

"The two girls he was texting on his phone while he was going fishing said he was supposed to send them a picture, but his phone went dead and that he couldn't get out of the car because the kids were asleep," said Hayes.
"Normally, he wouldn't take all of the kids and he was to supposed to have met with his brother and my oldest two granddaughters were going to babysit the youngest two. He never made it to his brother's house," said Hayes.

They also state the kids mother has never been in the picture.

Thank you for stating he normally did not take all of the children night fishing with him. It was not normal thing to do.

You have an interesting take on donut tires. Yes they aren't made for long periods, but I see them all the time and drove on mine for a while as well. The only time they are unsafe I would say is if they have defects or you use them for a long periods of time. Reading articles the main thing is the tread isn't as great, the size is smaller making it work more, things like that.

I am an adult with plenty of driving experience and a Safety Marshall for race tracks and a husband racer.
Donuts are not a safe and should be used only until replacement can be made. They are not made for any kind of long term.
It is not an unusual take. It is common sense.

<modsnip>Just Indiana roads are about F- in terms of conditions at the moment and we don't know how long he has been driving on it. Also with him taking him fishing it's not normal to take all, but doesn't mean he hasn't.

My apologies for anything. Just also stating IMO as well and trying to jump to conclusions on his child care abilities or anything.

They're SUPER common in Indianapolis because the city does an absolutely terrible job taking care of the roads. It's the middle of July and we still have large potholes everywhere from the previous winter.

I am getting awful Josh Powell vibes from this guy. Taking toddlers "camping" or "fishing" at weird times or in bad weather is a huge red flag, IMHO. Hoping and praying for a good outcome with this situation but...

I get 100% where you're coming from and have mentioned the concern as well. We also don't know if he got a flat that day, has a scheduled apt to get it fixed or how long he's been driving on it. I think it's a concern right along with all of the other concerns we all have regarding this family. IMO

I find it interesting that a comment was made that “the mother was NEVER in the picture”.

As of a year ago she was (youngest was born a year ago) and we 2 other children under 5. So mom, may not have been engaged or a great mom but she kept having children with the father so she was “around”.

I feel like we are not getting the entire story. I understand the family is distraught and that the father fought for custody and this is out of character but I’ve heard that many times before.

Wonder if mom has a new BF and she decided she wanted her kids back.

That could set off a whole set of things that would cause someone to do things that weren’t normal.

Just thinking out loud.

Kids could have thrown bottle out the window of the car by accident, or it could have rolled out when closing a door. It's hard enough to wrangle 3 littles, let alone remember to grab every item.

Night fishing for catfish is something I have done with my family. It is a thing.

Night fishing with his children is not a normal thing for Kyle to do, as stated by family.

Just curious why no Amber Alert was issued unless law enforcement believes that the children are not in imminent danger, even at that for them all to go missing is quite concerning regardless of the situation. Especially for children where minutes count. It would have been better to issue the alert a soon as possible and dismiss any notion of wrong doing or harm. Even if it were a custody situation DV can really get out of hand. There is always more to "The Story" that law enforcement doesn't reveal and it can be so frustrating not to just the general public but the family as well.

As far as the mother... She is reported to having drug issues and that he has full custody of the children. IT could be that she says she si clean and he wants her back, but the family states she is no longer in the picture and he has full custody.

This comment really sticks out to me.

"The two girls he was texting on his phone while he was going fishing said he was supposed to send them a picture, but his phone went dead and that he couldn't get out of the car because the kids were asleep," said Hayes.

To me this says the kids falling asleep wasn't the plan. He was not comfortable leaving them in the car while they asleep. So what would his next action be? Leave and head to another destination? Maybe also get a little sleep or just wait till the kids woke up to fish? Could he have fallen asleep and the car rolled? I know there is no tracks just thinking out loud.

AAs are for very specific situations. “Quite concerning” doesn’t meet the requirements. Amber Alert Plan

The criteria are not met for and AMBER ALERT as tey are not in danger or immediate danger. (criteria are listed in a post on page 2) They may have issued a SILVER ALERT because the oldest has asthma and no meds.

I agree with you. I'm most worried the donut tire led to an accident. Forget the other stuff, the donut tire is scary! Moo.

Donuts are made to get you to the nearest tire place. You can damage your vehicle driving on them too long. I warned my son about this. Now the 4 wheel drive is screwed up.
