Matthew Jenkins was last seen in the Edinburgh-Taylorsville-Columbus area about two weeks ago, said a Facebook post from the sheriff. Jenkins has numerous tattoos. "One tattoo is very distinct design on his neck," the post said. Jenkins was last seen with blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail. Jenkins also has gauges in his ears.

Police say Matthew Jenkins is a white male with numerous tattoos, one of which is a neck tattoo.

Jenkins also has gauges in his ears. He is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and approximately 220 pounds.

He was last seen in September 2018 wearing a white t-shirt, khaki shorts and work-style boots.

Father and son discover human remains in Anderson park
Sandefur said based on the condition of the remains, they have been there for awhile.

"At this point we don't know who the remains are," Sandefur said.

As officers were processing the scene, they discovered an identification card belonging to a male who has been reported missing, Sandefur said. Police are not releasing additional details regarding the missing person case pending efforts to determine if the remains found match the name on the identification card, he said.

A missing person from Florida, Matthew Jenkins, 29, is a white male with blond hair. He was last seen near Edinburgh on September 22, 2018. He was also spotted in western Bartholomew County about a week prior to that. He has numerous tattoos, one with a very distinct design on his neck. Jenkins also has gauges in his ears. He has been known to wear his long hair pulled back into a ponytail.

Matthew David Jenkins The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

Circumstances of Disappearance Matthew came to Bartholomew County from Florida and was staying with friends. Matthew was initially reported missing out of Florida but after a phone ping in the Columbus area they removed him from the system. Upon Matthew being told he can no longer stay with his friends in Bartholomew County he left a note in his vehicle (inoperable). The area was checked however Matthew was not located. A missing person post was put on on the media and also social media with numerous sightings in the Edinburgh, IN area however he was never located and we were unable to obtain video confirmation. I was later informed by family in Florida that another vehicle that was registered to Matthew was accumulating toll bills from Illinois all the way down to Florida however nobody has seen him.

Weird! I used to live in Columbus for several years and most of my family is still there. Edinburg is a very small town right outside Columbus. Actually part of Edinburg is Bartholomew County the other is Johnson and perhaps Shelby Counties. Outlet mall a Camp Atterbury which is both a Job Corp and National Guard base. about 25 minutes from Indianapolis.

<<They are currently running dna on a body that was found. Due to the conditions body was found in they were not able to match tats. They belive it could be him or one other man>>

<<Could be weeks they are working with one thing but with no nipple pierced I'd say not him but we will see the body they found was in awful condition and has since been cremated but from my understanding they kept a small piece of bone for dna>>
