Family and friends have not heard from her and she has no social media accounts that are known.

Monique has lived in the state of New York previously.

Monique was visiting a friend in Fort Wayne, IN for approximately one month. She was driven to Fort Wayne International Airport on 04/13/2021 for a possible destination of Washington DC. Her travel information is unknown or if she boarded an airplane. Family and friends have not heard from her and she has no social media accounts that are known. Monique has lived in the state of New York previously.

So did this friend drive her to the airport, or was this an Uber/Lyft or regular taxi?

Visiting a friend for a month? Between jobs, or able to work remotely?

YODER, Ind. (WANE) — A body was discovered in a ditch just south of the Fort Wayne International Airport Wednesday afternoon.
It’s unclear at this time who the victim is and how they died. The remains appeared to have been in the area for some time.

Just reading about this case for the first time. We don't have much info to go on here, but we do know human remains were found yesterday a short distance from the Ft. Wayne airport in a very rural area. The remains have not yet been identified yet so we'll have to wait for that information.

What we do know is that Monique Boamah was "visiting a friend" last year, and I would expect local LE has interviewed this person. Do we know if this "friend" is the same person who drove Boamah to the Ft. Wayne airport? As mentioned earlier in this thread, do we know for a fact that she actually entered the airport and was she seen on security cameras there? She must have had an airline ticket to some destination if she was going to the airport.

If she had a cell phone with her when she disappeared, did LE get any location information from it? Again, I'm assuming LE would have checked her phone records if she had one.

Have we heard anything from her family? Seems odd there hasn't been much personal/background information released in this case.

Agreed. I was not expecting that either, but the remains found in the drainage ditch do not belong to Katrina Boamah.

We still don't know much about Boamah, her background, or her family. We know that she lived in New York state at one point, but nothing much beyond that.

Per the NamUs link and the OP in this thread, Boamah was visiting a "friend" in Fort Wayne for a month, but AFAIK there's been no information released about this "friend". I would expect local LE interviewed this person regarding Boamah's disappearance.

Couple of things here. First, we don't know who was driving here to the airport.

Yes this question is important. Whoever was driving her would know whether Boamah actually arrived at the airport or not. Many smaller towns and rural areas do not have Uber/Lyft service, but if Boamah did use Uber, Lyft, or a taxi service then local LE would have researched this.

We've seen no reports so far about security video confirming whether Boamah actually arrived at the airport. The Ft. Wayne airport is described as relatively small so it should be fairly simple to determine if she was seen there.

Did she actually check in for her flight? NamUs mentions that Boamah's destination may have been Washington D.C. but that has not been confirmed. I would expect local LE would have this information but so far nothing definitive has been released about this.

There's been no mention of Boamah having a cell phone. That information would be very helpful for both text messaging before she disappeared and possible tracing of her at the Ft. Wayne airport.

Good questions being asked here. IMO we would understand much more about this case if local LE released more information about her stay in Ft. Wayne, and specifically about this "friend" and Boamah's travel plans.
