Found Alive IN - Monique Katrina Boamah, 33, driven to airport, Fort Wayne, 13 Apr 2021

@Vboamah, you should try sending the phone an IP tracker link. There are sites online where you can send an image to someone, and if opened it will log the IP address of the opener. If the IP is in NYC, that could substantiate the sighting.

How can I do this? Do you have a site I can use?

this is valuable information!!! Do these sites come with a fee?

Can the police not confirm if Monique boarded a plane or not?
My guess is that they were able to confirm that she did not get on a plane which is why they say she is missing from Ft. Wayne. Camera footage or not, of course, you can’t just get on a plane without your ID and that info is in their computers. If they had proof that she did board a plane to some other destination then that is where she would be missing from.
IMO

I am a close friend of Monique Boamah. The last time I spoke to Monique was around May as well. I send her text messages and phone calls frequently. Her phone is very much active although she doesn’t respond to any of my phone calls. A mutual friend of mine and her reached out to me today and stated he spotted her in Harlem, New York at a restaurant bar called Corner Social a few months back. He shared that he swears it was her but he was in a rush and couldn’t stop to say hello to her like he normally would. I am not completely sold by this news because it could be someone who resembled her. However, I know she had plans to move back to New York so she could very well be back already here. Is there any way her phone can be tracked??? Why haven’t the police tracked her phone???

Hello!
You spoke to her “around May”. Could it have been in April before she left Fort Wayne? The police say she is missing from Fort Wayne so I don’t think there is any proof she ever left. I would be looking real hard to her Fort Wayne friend for more info.
Do you know if this friend is male or female?

I totally agree! I’d be getting any info I could from the Fort Wayne friend.

@Vboamah has the Fort Wayne friend been interviewed? He/she may hold some valuable info or at least some insight into where she was planning to go, etc…

@320marroyo

So you spoke to Monique in May?

Did you actually speak with her or was it through text of some sort?

Speaking to her in May would mean you were able to make contact with her after she went missing.

Did you notice anything unusual? Did she happen to say or give any info that may point to where she was at that time?

I believe @Vboamah mentioned the same thing, that her phone was active but calls and texts went unanswered. I'm wondering if Monique still has this phone in her possession or if it's being used by someone else. Obviously if the phone is still active then someone must be charging/maintaining it. Are any other family members on Monique's phone plan, or is she the only owner of her phone account?

@BethAnn777 , I originally wondered the same thing, that maybe Monique didn't actually leave Ft Wayne, and that LE needed to interview Monique's friend there. However Monique's sister replied in a previous post that:
My sister was staying with her friend in Indiana. She's a childhood friend who grew up with her in Yonkers and moved to Indiana with her family years later. I don't know why she was there. My sister at that time was unemployed and collecting unemployment.
Her sister also said that Monique's last known location was at an extended stay hotel in Virginia, likely either Arlington or Alexandria, which indicates Monique left Ft. Wayne safely.

Her sister also said
I personally feel my sister has an undiagnosed mental illness. She makes hasty and rash choices with no real clear plans or thoughts of consequences.
If this statement by her sister is accurate, it could throw a wildcard into this case.

How long had Monique been on unemployment?
(Not sure how long you can collect benefits in NY)
Where was her last place of employment? Perhaps she kept in touch with coworkers?
Did she suddenly move out of her residence and start traveling to see friends?

How would she be supporting herself without weekly unemployment money?

We know so little about her. :(

Was Monique interested in certain religions? Was she raised in a particular faith, perhaps the one she saw on TV reminded her of a church she used to attend?

Very good questions. As I re-read older posts in this thread I wondered the same thing. How could Monique travel if she was receiving only unemployment benefits? Did she have access to money besides her unemployment checks?

This is the most recent article I have seen, from October:

Indiana's Fort Wayne is no stranger to whispered tales and mysterious disappearances. But the vanishing of Monique "Katrina" Boamah in 2021 remains one of its most enigmatic cases. A cloud of uncertainty shrouds her story, with more questions than answers.

Monique, a resident of Yonkers, New York, found herself in Fort Wayne not as a tourist, but as a guest visiting a friend. The nature of this friendship, the duration of her stay, and even the reason for her visit are unknown, adding to the layers of the mystery

I found no new information regarding Monique's case. Her NamUs profile is currently active but I found no case listing for her at Charley Project. There's minimal MSM information available, and nothing recent AFAIK.

There were a few posts earlier in this thread by both her sister and a friend of Monique's, however it appears neither person has posted anything here since March of 2022.

Based on their information, Monique did leave Ft. Wayne safely. IIRC, her sister indicated she was last known to be staying at an 'extended stay' hotel somewhere in Virginia in 2021. Around that time her cell phone was supposedly still active, but all calls went unanswered or went to VM. Monique's sister indicated that because her phone was still active, LE would not trace the location.

Her NamUs page is down at the moment.
Hello, this is Monique's sister. As of Monday I was notified by Detective Nolls from the Indiana police department that she had been found. I haven't been active on Webslueths in awhile. Been doing a lot of being the scenes searching with help from a friend from the Yonkers Police department. This has been A LOT!!! I discovered a reddit about her. I've seen YouTube videos. I had absolutely no idea my sister's case would get this much attention. I appreciate all the help and support. I apologize for not being as active. It's just so much going on. But the good thing is she's alive and wants to maintain her privacy. I don't think she realized she'd get this much attention. I didn't fully verify myself on reddit, but I emailed one of the mods that Monique has been found. They've even updated it on the Indiana Facebook page. I commented on it to certain ppl that I speak to personally. I appreciate everything that ppl have done. It's been almost 3 years. I'm just happy she's alive
