I hope he’s not reading here & takes off again. Great work if it’s him though!!!

Agreed; as a graduate of the Class of '66, 1979 seeing him at 37 yo is too old.

I didn't mean to lead anyone astray with my post about the NamUs entry. I just noticed it on that (WS un-nameable) website... And posted without checking details! I'm glad everyone has cleared up the fact it is not the same person AND not really even the same name! Sorry for my oops!!

Also, I'm really anxious to know the backstory on non-PRH/possibly JC... I hope we will eventually learn that, too!

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)
This is what’s at link. I don’t believe it’s the same JC because of his age. Also name spelling is different.

I started a thread for the missing JC: NY - NY - John Columbo, 47, Lake Ronkonkoma, 4 Dec 1979

I don't know if this is the man who used PRH's name but I have seen some cases where ages in NAMUS were completely wrong. Name spelling variations also happen. It's run mostly by volunteers and they can make mistakes. It would be good if some sleuths could post on JC's thread and try to find more records for the missing JC that verify his age as given in NAMUS (birth records, millitary records, etc). That age (47 in 1979) would rule him out as being the fake PRH, IMHO.

Quick Question: *If * we are on the right track are you concerned he may take off again? He appears to spend a lot of time in Cuba...

I considered typing "rumpled trench coat" in response, but everyone seemed to catch on!

I was contemplating attaching a picture of a cigar.

Self-protection? He had a well-known family name that in certain decades may have been dangerous to have (particularly in New York), and may still be to some extent. If you read about the "timing" of let's just call them family/semi-political disagreements of that era, (which He may or may not have been affiliated with, as I have no access to ancestry), I believe it would cause someone to be fearful and go into hiding whether there was a relation or not. There were identifiable events occurring in 1986-1987 and in 1991-1992 (the same range in which Paul appeared and disappeared) that would cause someone to go into hiding.

This all just conjecture. I have not done any extensive familial research. I believe that per WS TOS, we are not permitted to sleuth family members and we are not permitted to name names in this forum. Anywhere in this thread where the suspected name or family name appears needs to be replaced with initials. JMO.
I’m more inclined to believe he wanted to skip out on taking care of his young children. I think he might be the kind of person that flies by the seat of his pants. Perhaps selfish and travels a lot, always looking for something better. He’s got a girl in every port. He likes women, he moves on from one woman to the next. IMO.

I think the person found by the detective on this case is a very strong possibility and I’d be surprised if it’s not him. He’s a good cook/chef, among other things that seem to fit. IMO MOO

Have most of you been able to look at pictures of them? What do you think? Now I have to find a way to prove it is him. Am awaiting handwriting analysis from state laboratory. My Sheriff said he would consider sending me if it is positive match.

The site is odd this afternoon, alerting for the repeat posts & going back to check another thread for the same!

Any word from the Alaska resident's fund about this guy?

He has been receiving it all along, that’s not to say he could not have gone away for a few years while continuing to collect it.

I think there’s a very strong resemblance. One thing I noticed in the FPH (Fake Paul Harrod) photos is a sadness. He’s not smiling even when he should be happy, as in wedding photos. We even speculated perhaps he was running from something or worried about something or even suicidal. I think maybe that’s just his nature and perhaps even some type of mental illness. In your new discovery in Juneau, I see the same sadness in most of those photos. After perusing some of the material, I think that’s his nature. So much so, that it was even commented on quite a bit. There are other things that fit, such as being a great cook.

I wonder what his ex-wife M thinks? Is there any possibility of contacting this person’s other ex?

IMO

Did I miss something? I'd love to be behind on this one! Not sure the previous Ex was identified? Someone had a good candidate IIRC?

JMHO YMMV

The only picture I've seen was posted here. But yeah, even with the twenty year gap I see a resemblance. Tell your sheriff he should let you go.

Has anyone figured out the "Diane Rae" on Facebook found by another poster upthread?

Pictures with a male on Facebook, living close to an Air Force Base in greater Kansas City?
