A Statewide Silver Alert has been declared.

The Avon Police Department is investigating the disappearance of Richard Joseph Chittester, a 72 year old white male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 170 pounds, salt and pepper hair with brown eyes, last seen wearing Vietnam Veterans hat, dark brown Carhartt coat, and jeans, and driving a silver 2006 Pontiac G6 four door with Indiana plate RVX310.

Richard is missing from Avon, Indiana which is 18 miles west of Indianapolis and was last seen on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 4:45 pm. He is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.

UPDATE: Richard Chittester was found safely Saturday by law enforcement in Leitchfield, Kentucky, according to Avon Police Department. He was fine but disoriented, according to the department.
