@Niner The court site hasn't updated yet. Thanks for finding the article. He received 40 for the charge and 12 for habitual offender.

"Sims ordered an executed sentence of 52 years.
The state intends to dismiss a charge of murder, according to deputy prosecutor Jesse Miller.

WHAT?? dismiss murder charge? So the title of the article is misleading - as it says sentenced for the murder... so this 52 years is only for the level 1 felony neglect, possession of marijuana & paraphernalia - ??

Dang - can't access this article...

Wootton sentenced to 52 years in death of son

only thing I can see is:
Wootton sentenced to 52 years in death of son | Local News | heraldbulletin.com
The Herald Bulletin
Jacob Stephen Wootton. 0. ANDERSON — An Elwood man has been sentenced to 52 years in prison in connection with the death of his son in 2019.

@FrostedGlass - looks like he got sentenced for the murder also - I only had the other charges for sentencing. Good - 52 years is realistic!

also says:

Alyson Stephen, Wootton’s former wife, is charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in death and has a hearing set for Monday in Circuit Court Division 1.

@Niner What's your best guess as to how they will decide Stephen's case? Did she contribute to any of Ryder's injuries?

Yes, I think she did contribute to Ryder's injuries. Even if Ryder was in the care of Wootton - I believe both abused that little boy. DA is probably trying to make a deal with her like the did her bf.

Good question @FrostedGlass . Sounds like some kind of negotiations are going on. But in my notes I had the neglect charge dismissed on 5/16/19 & then she was charged with murder. I guess I was wrong & they kept the neglect charges and "added" the murder one.

Hopefully they will come to some plea agreement with Stephen. And we'll find out after today's hearing.
