Wow.
I'm stunned.
I'm stunned.
"She knew a lot about this mother, enough to convince her she was with CPS," Pawlak said. Detectives will have to determine how she was able to gather information about the woman.
TravelingBug... You said it all. STUNNED. I did not expect this. While I was worried for the both of them, I expected that she needed some time away. This is sickening beyond belief. I hope it was worth it for the suspect. I'm sure she'll have plenty of time on her hands to think about it. I'm not the type to wish anything bad on anyone, however, I hope her conscious eats her up alive from this day for an eternity..... At the very least.Wow.
I'm stunned.
This is so bizarre.
I wonder why she targeted her? Young enough to be more gullible perhaps? She had to know so much in order to not only sound like she was with CPS, but enough details to convince her to go with her.
It seems like the only real likely possibilities are her somehow getting access to copies of records somewhere somehow, or else maybe a lot of sleuthing on social media?
Is this becoming a thing now? women harming other women and stealing their babies.
Anderson police who came to Gary Friday afternoon in search of a young mother and her newborn daughter who had been missing since early April believe they found her.
The body of a woman who matches her the description was discovered about 3 p.m. Friday at a home in the 1900 block of Cleveland Street.
Police were led to Gary after Fleming's cell phone signal was picked up in the city, where the young mother's wallet was also found.
Fleming was reported missing by her boyfriend.
According to police, Fleming left the home they shared with her daughter Serenity after the woman who claimed to be from Child Protective Services told the new mother she had to appear at a hearing.
Police said the woman told Fleming the hearing was at Lake Superior Court in Hammond, which is 13 miles from the home where the body was discovered.
