Not knowing one has been victimized does not mean the victimization didn't happen. I imagine that if the police had evidence I'd been victimized and I found out they hadn't told me I'd be at a lawyer so fast, regardless of how old I was when it happened or whether or not I was "touched." It's not the prosecution's place to decide who should know what happened to their own body against their will. Smh. Yes this disclosure will be traumatic. It's a given that there will be trauma in this traumatic incident. That doesn't mean someone else is wrong for having done their job.
