Not knowing one has been victimized does not mean the victimization didn't happen. I imagine that if the police had evidence I'd been victimized and I found out they hadn't told me I'd be at a lawyer so fast, regardless of how old I was when it happened or whether or not I was "touched." It's not the prosecution's place to decide who should know what happened to their own body against their will. Smh. Yes this disclosure will be traumatic. It's a given that there will be trauma in this traumatic incident. That doesn't mean someone else is wrong for having done their job.

It's interesting that no one seems to give a care about the fact that the prosecutors traumatized and victimized these kids who had no idea that there was a camera in their bathroom which filmed their normal bathroom activities (bath or shower, drying off, using the toilet, brushing teeth, washing hands, etc) without their knowledge.

It's concerning that the government prosecutors informed these kids that they were victims of abuse (although no sexual abuse occurred, just a hidden surveillance camera in the bathroom and the footage was only shared between Taylor and Folgel) and traumatized them which will likely result in issues going forward. After determining no physical abuse occurred, it was criminally irresponsible for government prosecutors to tell these kids that they were victims of sexual abuse.

It is mandated by federal law that they and/or their guardians are informed.

The Child Victim Assistance (CPVA) Program is responsible for the notification process for victims of child , which is mandated under the Crime Control Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. §10607) and the Crime Victims’ Rights Act of 2004 (18 U.S.C. §3771). At the initiation of an investigation, victims and/or guardians are contacted by a Victim Specialist (VS) who, in addition to providing referrals for services, explains the unique circumstances surrounding child investigations, and the possibility that images may appear again in future investigations or court proceedings. At that time, the VS also requests the victim and/or guardian sign a Notification Preference Form.

It would be criminally irresponsible if they did not inform the victims, IMO, especially considering their victimizer was one of their guardians.

These children will need to make a choice if they want to opt-in and be informed if they are to be notified every time they are re-victimized in the future (thanks to Russell and Jared, as their images get passed around in perpetuity for years to come) and become, once again, a part of someone else's child court proceedings.

Jared had commercially produced images and video child sent to him by Taylor, of children as young as age SIX years old, engaged in sexually illicit conduct. Saved the commercially produced stuff on his thumb drive. Showed it to someone else. I'm going to believe him when he says six year olds really do it for him....

This. Exactly this. I am very "paranoid" of who is with my children besides immediate family (even then, I sometimes question it) b/c of the hundreds of stories we read here or hear about in the news. It's a scary world we live in.

Wow.m just wow. These prostitutes are young. Most prostitutes have been sexual abuse victims as children. They are beaten , brutalized by bottles and other objects, and they use drugs to cover up the horror of what they do.

I just spent over a week reading this thread and am on page 33. Oy vey, I am sickened to the core but as bad as this is, where is the humanity for the other victims (child prostitutes).

I am not referring to anyone here in reference to the child prostitutes. This is just my opinion and I had to let it out, hear me roar.

I was abducted and raped in 2003 at the age of 38 and I couldn't get enough narcotics in me to dull the pain as well as the shame and guilt.
I told no one until 2009.

I cannot imagine being a child and having to deal with the shame and pain and having your childhood destroyed in an instant.

From all the cases we read about and follow, it is almost predictable that he will be a repeat offender. Why should one person be allowed to destroy numerous children's lives? No plea deals for people who hurt children!
