IMO this seems more like a terrorizing attack than a targeted attack. A small boat would make a terrible shooting platform for stability. I guess he could have been targeting a specific business. Can’t imagine trying to target a specific individual in a crowded restaurant from a small boat. Terrible incident no matter what the motivation was.

I saw this name floating around last night and found multiple lawsuits he’s filed pro se against the city, the county, local officials, and even his own parents. It’s apparent from reading one of the lawsuits that he has severe mental health issues due to a traumatic brain injury he sustained from a GSW while serving in Iraq. If he’s the responsible party, I suspect his motivation wasn’t logical. Not that they ever are… but YKWIM.

At first I thought Edge wrote a book about DeBevoise. Then after reading further I realized they were one and the same. Teaches me not to post before reading everything.

Having spent some time in Southport, it saddens me that this obviously disturbed former Marine never got the help he needed and which would have saved the lives of his victims. Those victims were literally sitting ducks on an open air deck on the water.
