Nope I wasn't. I was using archaeology and scientific models of how long early man lived, which was, on average, 25 years. It's biology, not psychology. The age of sexual maturity (I'm not talking psychological maturity) hasn't changed all that much in the last 40,000 years, with sexual maturation occurring between 12 to 14, on average. Again, that's not psychology, that's biology. Survival of the species was dependent upon early maturation to produce offspring that could survive.

Fast forward to 2015. Laws recognize, define, and protect those under a specific age in which there can't be legal consent. Laws don't change biology, it puts rules in place that are not tied to biology. And those rules are important and upheld.

Is JF a pedophile? If he's attracted to pre-pubsescent girls, then by definition he is a pedophile. If he's attracted to post-pubescent females, then by definition, he's not considered a pedophile. But by acting out on his attraction to females under 18, that makes him a sex offender, by law, and by owning and distributing child where the subjects are under 18, that just piles on more.

He might only get 12 years in prison, but he's torpedoed the rest of his life, that's for sure, along with ruining his family. He'll be a registered sex offender and a famous one at that.

No, I'm saying assigning 'instinct' to sexual preferences is absolutely psychological theory. There is no peer reviewed scientific study that has proven in test upon test, what single thing or combination of things is causing any given person to find any other person sexually appealing or not sexually appealing.

I understand the frustration on behalf of the victims. Are you meaning that Subway as a brand is ruined? Or a lawsuit against corporate?

I can't get on board with hoping the brand is ruined. Like their food on not, all Subways are independently owned by small business owners. None are owned by corporate. I can't hope 43,143 small business owners world-wide lose their livelihood. And then all their employees.

But I never said anything about sexual preferences, and what's being attributed to me is not something I said.

I said that most heterosexual men would find a 16 yr old who nicely fills out a bikini attractive, even though a 16 yr old would be legally too young for anyone over 18 to have sexual contact. That's biology--a sexually mature female will be attractive to many, perhaps most hetero men. 16 is sexually mature, that's biology. Doesn't mean a 16 yr old would want that kind of attention though. And it doesn't mean that a man who finds a 16 yr old attractive necessarily wants to or intends to have sex with her. More importantly, any female under 18 is off limits to someone over 18. I never mentioned anything else, besides the definition of a pedophile.

Was doing a little research on Google after I read your post. I did not realize that this may, the Senate passed the "Justice for victims of trafficking act" and that Johns who have sex with a minor under the age of 18 are now designated as sex traffickers under that Act.

There is a very good blog on this but since it is not mainstream media I cannot post it. If you google Jared Fogle and sex trafficking you will find the blog.

What exactly isn't your opinion? Because it appears you're disagreeing with the FACT that minors can't [legally] consent to sex with adults. Please clarify.

I think the girls he paid to have sex with was of legal age in their state (16/17). But since his state is 18 and his sole purpose of travel was to engage with a 16 year old; Made him culpable of the crime.

Now I think he could have beat the solicitation of a minor charges. But why argue when you know the feds still got you on other child possession charges. So he did the right thing by shutting up and take the hit and not argue the solicitation of minor charges.

But the main proof that he is addicted is that he kept hold of those images even after his partner was arrested months earlier. He could have tossed everything. But his addiction to kiddie nudity didn't allow him to.
