Well JF had sex with 2 girls under 18 (for money) that we know about. That's part of the charges. And there were other victims in which he viewed pictures and video over some time period that he acquired from the other guy who's been charged. So there are additional charges of possession and distribution from his computer. He wanted to sleep with more girls and younger than 16, but whether he did or not, I don't know.
I am not sure why you are belaboring this, nor do I understand why you feel the need to tell me how I could have worded my post better. I stand by what I said and I think I worded it just fine. I will parse it for you one last time, then I am finished with this discussion.
I was saying, if one says Fogle deserves to be raped in prison (as several posters seemed to be saying) the underlying stipulation is that some rape victims deserve it.
Once there's agreement that some rape victims deserve it, that sends us as a society down a slippery slope of deciding which victims deserved it, as in "well she deserved it because she was dressed that way" or "because she went to his hotel room with him" or "because she shouldn't have been out drinking at that time of the night," ad infinitum.
I prefer to put Fogle, the provocatively dressed woman, (and, by the way, the innocent child and child rapist/torturer/murderer that you brought up) under one big umbrella that says:
NO ONE DESERVES TO BE RAPED NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE OR WHAT THEY HAVE DONE.
I agree, we won't discuss it after this:
You did not say, "No one deserves to be raped, not the victim, not the rapist" You said,
that saying the rapist deserves to be raped is just like saying the victim deserves to be raped!
and that's just not true!
I think we all agree that no one, including unrehabitable sex criminals, deserves to be raped.
But the CHILD RAPIST has already raped; sometimes the crimes are heinous. Spouting off in the context of this board because someone might be incredibly incensed, blown away and angry is just not the same, IMO.
Example:
what if a thread came up, and it does, that a six year old girl was abducted, tortured and raped, and then brutally murdered?
What if I posted something like, "well, that innocent child derserved to be raped."
I'm thinking, most likely, banned from WS forevah.
What if the forementioned rapist was arrested, and confessed and it shows up on the board. This also happens. And then someone implies it by saying "well I hope he gets what he deserves, the other convicts hate child killers."
I'm thinking, not banned from WS, not even a time out.
You're absolutely right, not a very nice thing to say, and from a humanist point of view, I seriously agree with you and understand what you mean.
But, I don't blame people for saying it, at all and understand why they do.
So, yeah, let's drop it and remain fellow posters!
