IN - Terry and Darleen Anderson Murder, Mungo, 22 Oct 2005 - #3

Hi (((Rosco))) and (((all))). Stopping in to catch up. Glad to see the discussion thriving.

You're never out of my prayers dear Rosco. I hope the fishing tournament goes well and has a great turnout this coming weekend! And I really hope the meeting is fruitful!! Who knows what they may have working with these recent arrests... they may leave you feeling optimistic this time! I hope and pray!!!

OK... off to Iron Man tomorrow. Appears to have rain in the forcast  Hoping for the best in the weather department. Have no contol over Mother Nature.

Meeting with LE in the afternoon after our arrival. Crossing fingers for some possitive energy from this meeting.

Just so I can leave WS with this tid-bit of information. Apparenly 'A' is in jail in Michigan and has been for some time ~ a month or so.
Seems to be the same 'ol story - caught with Meth. Now ... money is all gone ~ so sitting until courtdate is prolly why it's been that long.
Maybe the fog is lifting from 'A's mind and memory after being somewhat clean from drugs for a duration.

OK - gotta run... cleaning, packing, taking care of the animals and prepare for the 'animal sitter'.. We have 2dogs, 3cats and 'Hippy' the black long-haired guiena pig..
NOW - along with 'Lucky' the white/blk stray kitty that has been roaming around my place the past week.
DS wants us to catch 'it' (dont know sex of kitty - praying not F and PG~~!) and keep it safe in the house. I said we need to get trust first and shall see..:blowkiss::crazy:

:blowkiss:

Rosco

Good Luck Rosco!

Great news about "A"! What the heck was she doing in Michigan anyway? Getting clean and sober might help revive her conscience a little......

Too bad you are Chicago - My fiance is a canine trainer and runs his own pet care, walking, training, in-house boarding business here in NYC - if you were closer we would definitely give you a discount!

I am planning to go back to Missouri for a visit and will not board my cats somewhere as it is just too traumatic for them. I about fainted when I totalled up how much it would cost to have a sitter take care of 4 cats. It costs more than my plane ticket.
So, fiance and I are going to go home for family visits seperately......

YAY! Best news I've heard in a while!! Have fun at Iron Man, let us know how it goes :blowkiss:

Gosh, the court records in Michigan are HARD to get to...it's driving me crazy...in Oklahoma you can find them in 2 seconds.

Well surely the Iron Man Fishing Tournament is over and the fish have been caught though not the fish we'd like caught!

Rosco, you there????

Hey Rosco - just checking in. How did the Iron Man Tournament turn out?
Hope you are well.

Iron Man had the worst turnout ever thanks to severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings on Friday.

LE was also very rude to Rosco in their meeting. I guess they didn't like her talking about the case online, and didn't appreciate her criticism of them, or the governor calling them asking about the case. She had lots of new info to give them, as well, but they are not going to talk to her or anyone else about the case, anymore.

Between the low turnout and the way LE acted, she was not very happy, to say the least. She could use some support. Sometimes they forget who the real victim is, and it isn't them. They have to expect some impatience from a murder victim's child.

Thanks DK. So obviously LE reads this thread regularly, huh? They are making a big mistake and being incredibly immature to proclaim they are not talking to her anymore because she critized them especially if she has information to give them. What is more important? Solving this crime or their ego's?
The Governor called Mongo LE to check on the case?

My heart goes out to you Rosco. It has been one thing after another the past few months I can't imagine how hard it is to keep holding your head up. Everyone on this board supports you, believes you are justified and entitled to vocalizing your frustrations and your sadness over the situation. I am terribly sorry about the poor turnout but in this case it sounds like it was just bad luck with the weather and nothing personal.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Well.. my Darling DK - U let the 'cat out of the bag' with Gov. being aware of the case and him calling local LE.

Didnt tell anyone on the Network that 'interesting' info..BUT - since it's out there... I should make it clearer.

Yes - Gov. called local LE regarding the case. A supporter of Dad and Darleen's justice has personal contacts with Gov. of IN and took upon themselves to call and discuss The Anderson's Unsolved Homicides and why 3.5yrs later it is not solved. I NEVER solicited nor requested via mail or any other correspondence to Gov for help. This was done on pure someone else’s effect and connections. And I really appreciated it!!

Asked Gov. to please review the case file and see if there is any other solution for an arrest or justice on this case. Also - wanted to review case to see if there was anything unusual - like the weapons being taken from the property 48hrs after the homicides. This information struck the 'supporter' by surprise and felt that Gov. really needed to review case.
Gov. called LE and apparently they did not appreciate it ~ and I got the wrath on Friday's meeting. :furious:

Please .... this meeting was very civil and no arguments were made. It simply was LE discussing with me the entire 3.5yrs of work and all the organizations who had their hands in the case and their abilities as LE and each organization. But ~ the conversation lead to how 'busy' local LE is with their 1,000 cases per/year and simply put - the lack of money.

Truly... my concern is not for the 1,000 cases local LE deals with. My concern is only ONE case I have my finger in... and that is all i really and truly want solved. Should never talk to the daughter of murdered father/family about budgets and man-hours and lack of attention the local LE is doing for the case.
I did keep most of my mouth quiet and just absorbed. :(

To hear this from LE was not a possitive feeling and left me so down regarding justice.. that simple placed me in this failure mode.:(

Simple put - having Gov call made every LE person involved in the case very unhappy and that the call was placed at the though of trying to find errors. LE said those words - 'are you trying to find errors!??" .

It was NEVER spoken in that room that Gov. called them... and that was reasons for the 'ego' issue and clarification of file being true and error free. My source asked that I do not speak of that to LE (but it was said here now)
BUT I know it was that (gov.) reason and surly the minor comments made on WS or any other thread would NOT put LE in the mood they were in on Friday..NO WAY!

DB is not a happy camper when I told him about the meeting. Said he is sorry he is in CA and that I truly have been the back-bone of the Networking and getting info out there .. and he wished he could/can do more.. I reassured him that it's all ok... I'll bounce back.

Have not told DH about meeting. He will blow a gasket if he found out...and I really do not want him calling LE and demanding an apology.:furious:
Maybe in time I will say - but right now.. better to let it go.

I still feel LE will speak to me.. at least State LE should/would/could/might. Local was at this meeting and was the first time in 2.5 yrs I had seen him ~ you know.. too busy..and I feel wanted to vent at me was the only reasons for the guest appearance.....

Wow, Rosco, I am just floored. Flabbergasted that LE would be offended by help offered on this case. 'Uninterested' in speaking to the daughter/step daughter of the victims. I've never encountered that kind of reaction from LE, and as gracious as theyv'e always been receiving 'tips' or suggestions/thoughts from a stranger, I honestly would have thought they would have had a more professional demeanor when speaking with you. Not 'accusing' you or worried about you looking for mistakes unless they IN FACT KNOW THEY HAVE MADE THEM, AND ARE WORRIED ABOUT YOU FINDING OUT.

Their first priority should be solving these murders, not complaining about the budget, and not offended by outside eyes offering help!

Need to pick my jaw up off the floor now.

ETA: Why are they thinking about 'errors' rather than someone else taking a look with a fine tooth comb and perhaps seeing something they may have overlooked? IMO, the second option should be WELCOMED as that is often how cold cases get solved. Do they not want this solved? Now I am pissed. :furious:

Cubby, I was :furious: too, so I pm'd Rosco with my comments. I feel sure the governor would like to hear about all the guns that most likely went to drug dealers, since that has the potential for causing other agencies in the state problems.

I actually think this was a lucky break because now local has the state LE looking over their shoulders. Something needed to happen to shake the local LE up.

Somehow, I expect they will find more money and time to work this case properly despite their words to the opposite.

I hope so! I can see a case where some 🤬🤬🤬🤬 drug dealer was shot down in a deal gone bad, or something like that not being a top priority, but Terry and Darlene were respectable everyday people. The citizens in the town and county should be screaming their lungs out to get this solved! As who knows who could be next.

I hope so, EVERY thing they have done needs to be looked at again with fresh eyes. Budget Smudget.... I can't say anymore about that comment without risking getting a time out here.

hugs Rosco. Big hugs.

Rosco

Rosco is correct, none of us contacted the governor or his office. It was a private citizen who is friends with him who was concerned and took it upon themselves to do this. I didn't even find out about it until this week, lol! So even I was in the dark that he had even called them. (Sorry if that was supposed to be secret or something.)

I have always been shocked at the number of locals who have told me they don't trust their local LE, so am not surprised one would take it upon themselves to do something to help. I have never had any evidence that there is problem within local LE, just people who tell me there is based on primarily their opinions. Nothing to really back it up. But the sheer number of people who say such things is what's surprising. The frustration locally over the case has truly gotten to a boiling point with many people, so again, I am not surprised people are doing things on their own to try and "help." (Even if it doesn't always help, lol.) Terry and Darleen were well loved in the community, that much is VERY obvious.

I wish the Iron Man had been postponed, not sure why it wasn't. The county it is held in had the worst of the storms. No way someone is going out on a boat, lol. And I am sure people assumed it was cancelled or postponed, like everything else was that day/weekend.

If the person who asked the governor to call them reads here (I have no idea who it even was) if you could ask the governor to come to the 4th Annual Memorial in October, that would be very cool, as it would bring lots of publicity to the case. And LE would agree that publicity leads to tips. Contact Rosco through the foundation website, www.terryanddarleen.com.

I really feel like this could be the break Rosco needed. Having the Governor on your side can NEVER be a bad thing....this really gets my head thinkin:waitasec:

Praying that with the Governor and John Walsh involved that this crime is solved and justice gets served soon. The sooner the better. :blowkiss:

Hugs to you and yours, Rosco!

Congrats to whoever it was that contacted the Governors Office and an even bigger congrats to the Governor Daniels for actually looking into it.

LE did do some things wrong in the beginning of the investigation. They did not have control of the crime scene and they released the house way too quickly.

They have over a 1,000 cases a year. And how many of those cases are double homicides or single homicdes? You would think those would take top priority and in a place as small as Mongo I know they do not see very many murders.

If Mitch Daniels has anything to do w/getting this crime solved I will have a new outlook and respect for him. I am a local and did not vote for him last election.

My heart is with Terry and Darleen's family everyday. I come here all the time to see if there is any new news because I would probably hear it here first before the local media!

Can state LE go around the local LE and make an arrest? I surely hope so, and I'm afraid that's what it's going to take.

I was just reading about another case in which LE goofed, but the difference is they owned up to it whereas the Mongo or County in this case has not. They want their respect back, they're going to have to earn it.

Thanks DK for your clarification in post #334. It is much appreciated.
:blowkiss:

Like, gaia, I too believe the crime scene was not secured properly and the house released way too soon. Did LE perhaps think this was going to be a case easily solved and made the wrong judgement too soon?

I am still very very uncomfortable with their apparent overwhelming concern about 'mistakes' and what DK has shared about the locals having little confidence. I am happy to hear local voices going over local LE if they really have that lack of confidence.

Rosco, I thought you were not going to have the Iron Man on Fathers day weekend again due to a low turn out previously, maybe I was mistaken? or did you change your mind on that.

hugs my friend.
We really should try and plan Kiddie land, as this is the last year. :(
