ARLINGTON, Ind. — The search continues for missing 17-year-old Valerie Tindall as police descend upon the property of an Arlington man who already has been charged with false informing in connection to the missing persons case.

On Tuesday, federal agents joined local police in searching Patrick Scott’s property in Arlington. This isn’t the first time police have searched Scott’s property in connection with Valerie’s disappearance. Previously, authorities searched a pond located on the Arlington man’s property.

According to court documents and Valerie’s family, the 17-year-old worked for Scott mowing lawns in the summer and lived next to the man. Police said Valerie was reportedly seen with Scott the day she disappeared and that Scott was reportedly seen driving Valerie’s car.

Tindall’s mother, Shena Sanders, says she’s both devastated and confused.

“We just want answers as to why. Her and Scott had a bond. They were friends or so we thought. She also hung out with his family and so did we. I mean we all just went places together,” said Sanders on Wednesday.

Sanders said Tindall would often do work for Scott and she remembers when she found out that Tindall was added onto Scott’s mobile phone plan.

“She said he just added me on it with his family because they’re all on it. I told her, ‘But you’re not his kids or his wife or his family. He shouldn’t be tracking his family anyway. It’s not normal to me,” said Sanders.

Oh man... I really wish her parents would've locked down this weird gross relationship... not victim blaming or anything, I just don't understand how they thought this kind of thing was ok to not confront this weird man about.

Sandefur claimed Scott kept track of her daughter’s whereabouts using his iPhone, however, saying she and her husband felt like Scott tracked her like a “jealous boyfriend.”

”She come home one day and said he had her on a 360, which I didn’t even know it was, and I said, ‘What was that?’ and she says where he tracks their phone because they all had the iPhone, and I said, ‘Why does he have you on that, you’re not his family, why is he tracking you?’ and she said, ‘I don’t know, I don’t see nothing wrong with it.’ ‘Really, like you don’t see nothing wrong with that?’ I thought that was really peculiar. And then he would call my husband every time she was out doing something and tell him, ‘Oh, she’s out here, she’s out there,’ like he was upset about it almost and he wanted her over here.”

Sandefur said Scott tore down and burned a garage on his property at 2 a.m. in the weeks following her daughter’s disappearance.

“Who tears down a garage at two o’clock in the morning?” Russ McQuaid of FOX59 News asked Sandefur.

RUSH COUNTY, Ind. — The man charged for murder in the disappearance of 17-year-old Valerie Tindall is taking a plea deal in her killing.

Patrick Scott agreed to 57 years in prison for murder with all other charges being dropped. He will also have to make restitution of $10,000 to Tindall's family.

The judge has not set a hearing date to consider whether or not to accept the plea deal.

There is no way things happened like he said they did and let’s just pretend for 2 seconds that they did happen that way…we know it didn’t but for arguments sake. An adult would say “Look you need some help. I am not it. Let me facilitate that help by calling your parents”. Then leaving. I can’t see a normal adult human being thinking “Oh this girl is going to blackmail me I better kill her”.

No no no the abuse had been going on for a while. I would say the grooming and abuse had been going on for many many months and it culminated with some kind of scenario (nanny bot won’t let me type what I really think happened) where she rejected and/or fought him. So the best lie this supposed ‘best friend’ could come up with was that she was going to blackmail him into buying her a car…based on what? She had a car. He got rid of it. After the fact.

Parents out there reading this…there is NO NEED for a non family member who is an adult to be BFFs with your teen age daughter or son. If a 59 year old man is paying more attention to your child than his own then something is suspect. If a 59 year old man wants to spend time with your child without a parent also being there something is suspect. If a 59 year old man is buying your child expensive gifts something is suspect. This whole thing stunk to high heaven to begin with. I am not parent shaming I am sure they are going though hades right now because they ‘trusted’ this guy. I am just making sure if anyone out there has such a person in their lives that is a ‘friend’ to their teenager they don’t fall down the same hole as these poor people did and lose a child. We have seen it here again and again over the years.

How does it go so far this creeper tracks her on a phone plan then has her sitting dead in his office while being questioned...then the old I am going to do manual labor at 2 am just as good as the dude that killed his wife and claimed she had a mower incident at 3 AM.......world has gone nuts and these cases seem to get more bizarre.
