WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University Assistant Professor John Froiland, who taught classes in “positive emotions” and “parental involvement,” was arrested last Wednesday after allegedly beating his wife with a wooden chair leg in front of his 10-year-old son, whom he had locked in a dog cage

He is currently on PAID administrative leave

Most public schools and universities have to put employees on paid leave while they are getting their ducks in a row to terminate employment.

Hope he loses his freedom, too. In addition to the job he obviously wasn't qualified for.

We know people lock their children in cages, but why a supposedly educated person? Educated enough to know that he won't get away with it. I hope his family is safe from him after this irons out.

Greetings. I hope no one was hurt in this story. For me, as a woman, it sounds terrifying. I would like this to simply not exist in our world. And although I have great respect for educated people, this is proof that educated people are not always adequate.

Any child locked in a dog cage watching one parent beat the other, is hurt.
