Indiantown, FL - John Henry Mallouk, 78, reported missing January 2023, last heard from August 2022, house burned down January 2025

I found some more information concerning his disappearance:

Deputies were first dispatched to 12700 SW Conners Highway, after Mallouk's brother reported him missing. His brother — who had not spoken to Mallouk in over a year — traveled from Philadelphia to inform him of their mother's passing. Upon arrival, he found the house unlocked and Mallouk nowhere to be found, leading him to contact authorities.

Inside the residence, deputies found Mallouk's burner cell phone plugged into the kitchen wall, but there was no power in the house and they found no signs of struggle or foul play. Mold and cobwebs were present throughout the home, and all three of Mallouk's vehicles were parked in the carport. The last known sighting of Mallouk was at a doctor's appointment in Port St. Lucie on August 10, 2022.

The article also mentions undiagnosed mental issues, and that searches of local hospitals and mental health facilities yielded no results.

Now I better understand that 1985 article on his obsession for that tennis player.

“There was no power to this building, so it wouldn’t have been electrical," said Sheriff John Budensiek.

He was a loner, he liked to gamble and he had been contributing sizable amounts of money to charities, mission organizations

While Mallouk talked about going to Africa on a mission trip, detectives say there’s evidence he hasn’t left the country. One theory: He never got very far from home in the first place.
