Interim discussion regarding questions from the jury and Arias on the stand #79

I believe the same. That was a small cramped shower, no one is going to sit in it. Especially to take pictures even if its for the sexiness of it all, or to prove your weight loss. It wouldn't be sexy or show your weight loss, your body would be scrunched up. I think he more or less sat down either because she forced him to with a knife or gun, or because he was plain sick and tired and didn't know what to do.

For her to think that its believable that she took pictures of him in the shower with the door open, he sat down on the shower floor with the water still running and was showing him pictures? Water would be splashing all over his brand new camera. Why would he do that? It makes no sense.

Its my belief that she either showed him the gun or the knife at that point and took a photo of his face on purpose. He's looking wide eyed directly in the camera, and he looks pretty scared. I think she then attacked him with the knife...

Yes. And you know what? Travis would have instinctively wanted to get out that small enclosure once he knew she was armed but what could he do? He sat there when SHE threatened his life hoping he could talk her out of it or something. He had no choice. He was like a lamb before slaughter. That is what the last photo depicts. He suffered in every way possible. I've never come across anybody as sinister. And nothing less than death will do as the penalty.

I found this picture online that I thought was really kinda interesting.

Apparently a person took Travis' last shower picture, and put it in a software that basically cuts the face in half and mirrors it back so its one face, its interesting to see this, one side of the face he looks sad, and the other kinda mad.

I really believe when this picture was taken he knew something sinister was about to happen.
My initial thoughts when I saw this picture in the timeline was that this was not Travis posing for the camera. He has an absolute stunned look of fear and concern, he looks angry that he is stuck in this situation. I truly believe he knew his life was about to end in this photo. It looks also like he had tears in his eyes. It gives me chills.

I must be missing something. What is the point of doing this? :waitasec:

Point of doing what? creating a mirror of one side of someones face? I don't know... interesting perhaps? I didn't create it, just thought it was pretty interesting.

I also learnt today that the order or dates are usually when processed. So on the 6/7 June would have been after the murder but also too early for her to pay for a ticket to his memorial service. So could there have been a delay in this purchase showing up and it could have been for an air ticket for Cancun paid for before she arrived at Travis' house?

The airline ticket was most likely purchased for Arias to attend Travis's memorial service.

I have a question for those of you that believe that he looked fearful and tormented in this photo, like he knows what is coming.

Do you think she accomplished instilling this look of frozen fear and doom in him without wielding any weapon, or at knifepoint or at gunpoint?

I know this isn't directed at me but I don't think he looks fearful at all. I think he's just looking at the camera.

Good morning everyone!

CNN had a segment on JA last night, guest attorneys mentioned that they have never seen a defendant on the stand for such a long period of time, I believe they said she has testified for 18 days..

It seems she will be testifying some what longer, jurors have 64 more questions and counting, Nurmi and Juan will have to direct/cross her on those and Juan is not yet finished.

It would be nice to read/ post all her lies and inconsistent statements while on the stand on a sticky thread, there have been many. Does anyone know how to request a sticky thread from mods on here for 'JA Lies/Inconsistent Statements on the Stand'?

When I look at it, knowing that he is attacked right after, I see a look of frozen fear and confusion, like he sees what is coming and has no way out.

But what was the date of his memorial service?

Do we know a date the airline ticket was purchased? In my bank statement all transactions appear in order of the date they were actually cleared at my bank.. whether it be check or debit. It appears right after the gas charges on the 6th in her statement. He hadn't even been found yet.

Pink Panther,
was rereading your post. Great, btw.
Question, do you think, after your experience with that person, that 'it' had a personality disorder (to say the least!)? Did 'it' have soulless eyes too?
thanks for all the grt info.
From what I've read sociopaths/psychopaths do have what is termed "personality disorder". I've never liked this description because having known one, my perception is that they are empty shells and that they're making themselves up along the way. "It" had beautiful eyes aesthetically, but they had no "depth"/warmth.

It is probably the checked bag fee and tx on it. It costs 27.00 total to bring 1 piece of luggage at Philly airport. It would make sense for that IMO

Or parking. She flew to one of his memorial services or funeral.

Apologies, I'm battling a nasty virus, so I haven't read the whole thread. Just some (hopefully not too discombobulated) thoughts on the earlier discussion about psychopathy. ( to you, Pink - you know this too well yourself.)

I don't think its coincidence that just over a week after calling Jodi a sociopath Travis was dead.

When you encounter a psychopath you know something isn't quite right though you usually can't quite put your finger on it. Some are fortunate enough to listen to their instincts...but some aren't and its those who will find themselves the target and victim of a psychopath.

Once you ignore that initial gut instinct and develop feelings for the psychopath - you'll spend the majority of your time rationalizing, minimizing, and dismissing their behavior. It's human nature to assume that another human being would react and feel the same as we do. Inherently, that's the whole problem though - you're ascribing what healthy, compassionate, loving people would do compared to someone very depraved and incapable of caring for anyone else.

Because of their inability to empathize with others, their self-centeredness, and their blurring of boundaries to suit themselves they are very likely abusive by nature. Psychopaths enjoy lying and manipulating - its like a game to them - they love seeing what they can get away with. Its so foreign to how healthy people act, its very easy to struggle to explain it and not see it for what it really is.

Should you ever see a psychopath's human mask slip it is an experience of horror films and things that go bump in the night. You may not realize what you are experiencing, but it invokes a knee-jerk flight response, the hair on the back of your neck rises, and you know you are in very real, very mortal danger. You are seeing something you can only describe as inhuman. A predator.

My advice, much like our dear Pink's, is that if anyone finds themselves in a chosen relationship with a psychopath they run(!), not walk, to the nearest exit. Change your number, get a restraining order if possible, move to parts unknown, and enforce a very strict no contact policy if at all feasible. And to be very careful in relationships with others who the psychopath has access to. Psychopaths are very adept at manipulating loved ones to use as proxies to further abuse their victims.

Psychopaths will use anything to gain access to the victim and they often won't 'release' a victim until and unless they decide they're done with them.

Question: If sex was done and he had carried her bags down to her car and she testified that she was dressed while taking shower pics, why does she have clothes to change into? Certainly she didn't leave the house a bloody mess? Or did she?
