I still can't get Travis sending Jodi those awful texts on May 26 and then nine days later she was 1,000 miles away at his house having sex with him and taking the dirty pictures. Plus Jodi told Darrell at the end of May that she was taking a long road trip, and one of the places she mentioned was Arizona. I can understand that Jodi was mad enough to kill him. I even saw during one of her interviews or read a transcript somewhere in which Jodi admitted being a little upset about not getting to go to Cancun. I just can't believe that he willingly let her come into his home (or begged her to come there) and had sex with her. This just doesn't make sense. The roommates never saw her, and no one saw the rental car.

They can do a "mock" jury. I know that there was one done in the Peterson case.

Having been a mock juror it is extremely expensive for whomever is having the trial. I have done this about 4 times. In all of the cases the trials have been for 8 hours or less and most of the time 4 hours if they can do it - I think Nurmi uses Websleuths and other websites for his mock jurors. Isn't the state paying for JA's defense?

Sure don't like it that they get our thoughts for "FREE" to help JA.

I watched DB's hand testimony yesterday. I felt sorry for him, too, until he refused to give a straight answer about things he had already said. I thought, "Good grief! What kind of spell does this woman cast over men that they will LIE under oath for her?" I wouldn't even expect my husband to do that. He's too honest!

But you're right about Ryan Burns. He WAS completely used and he's blessed that he was only her alibi!

(P.S. Every time I hear the term "love sack" I think of the 80's song "Love Shack." Can't help it. Used to love that tune. Now JA's ruined it, too, along with Tootsie Pops, Pop Rocks & even Little Red Riding Hood!) :banghead:

I was shocked listening to DB's testimony. 'I don't remember', 'I don't recall'. Yeah right. When JM asked DB about the gas cans he gave such long pause before finally answering 'yes' in a shaky sort of voice. He ought to be grateful that he's still alive and tell the whole truth! :banghead:

Jodi was a PPL groupie, traveled to Travis' home many times. Did Travis ever specifically travel to visit Jodi?

Was MM with JA when she went to visit DB in June of 2008? Why does JM bring that up during his questioning of DB??

I don't think we can know that for sure. We do know that MM when he visited the RTC went straight over to the TFS in order to pick up some UNB. We also know that DB was at the KLS at about that time. Upon arrival of the DSW the others from WSD claimed vehemently that all of the TRR was up in the UOL which if true confirms that MM was indeed with JA particularly during the VFD.

Yup! She didn't want to touch that screen for nothing. She pointed to one spot and started her puppet moves. I notice that when she doesn't want to be pinned down by an answer she starts being vague in her responses/ actions. If I had to demonstrate how someone lunged at me I wouldn't need several prompts before i show it.

LOL I gots to admit....I watch that part of the trial over and over and over again. I find it amusing....

Can someone post the link again? It just makes my day....Jodi was totally unprepared to demostrate the linebacker move..her facial expression was priceless.

I sat on a mock jury for Merk. Paid REALLY well:).

Years ago I also signed up for and participated on an online mock juror trial, that paid decent.

I've been sent notices x2 but it's been cancelled. But they sent a questionaire
to fill out with questions( I think) have you ever been part of (I think) the legal system or some such question.
I didn't understand what that meant, how to answer it...so I was just going
to ask them when I went in...

Years ago, I was the 2nd of 4 women who was attacked by a rapist in our area.
I wasn't raped, but I fought back and was beaten pretty bad. The last 2 women
were raped.
I was hypnotisted and was able to remember a distinctive ear ring he was wearing which is how they caught him. All 4 of us remembered the funny
ear ring somewhere buried in the depths of our minds.
Anyhow, I didn't have to testify...the 2 who were raped did.

How do you answer a questionair with that kind of story?

I had nightmares for years...
I love you gals...I have never spoken of it to anyone but my DH...
I don't know why...just couldn't...
It's good to have a place to be able to speak freely
Thank You All So Much!!!:heartbeat:

I'm so glad you've unburdened yourself of this trauma. And that you feel good about it. That's important! I'm so sorry you suffered such a horrible event. Thank you for sharing and yes this is a safe place to let that out.

My gosh, YES! I don't think the full depth of his involvement has been disclosed yet. I think he gave her cash for the DVD player or just for the heck of it. That was part of the deposit she made when she left his house. :twocents:

"Would it surprise you that Walmart does not have any record of any refund for a gas can on that date of June 3rd, 2008" I just watched that again. I love his inflections. It's almost as good as "this whole courtroom is out of order!".

Of course her response is as bland as ever. And of course she knows she's been busted.

I don't understand how the critics think he should ONLY focus on the murder. He did all of that in his CIC and during his cross of Jodi. The murder has been at the forefront from day one. He needs to tackle Jodi's lies about Travis because that is a big part of the case. If anyone believes Jodi's stories of pedophilia and abuse she will be found not guilty. The ones complaining and saying these things must not be watching the trial or in a fog. He is debunking all of her lies and restoring Travis' reputation that is being dragged in the mud by a defendant that only wants to save herself and not be convicted of a crime. She's been doing this since june 4th, pretending she's not responsible and making up stories to benefit herself. If they can't see this maybe they should go and get a pair of Jodi's prop eye glasses.

BBM

I agree. She is such an experienced and prolific liar, that when he asks her about the murder, she ALMOST sounds credible. She has that story down pat, perfectly rehearsed and worked out. If he only tread that territory then she might begin to sound believable.

I think it is great when he forces her to own her silly stories, like the ninja skaters who, supposedly, turned her back plate upside down, and skated away.
I think that reminds the jury just how ridiculous her version of the story is.

Also, it is important to force her to try and say that she was not jealous of his Cancun trip and his new relationships. She cannot say it believably at all, imo.

He got her to admit, straight out, that ALL of their sex was mutual and consensual. That was huge, because a big part of the defense was that she was 'forced' into degrading sex acts and 'raped' in her sleep. He proved that was not the case. That is going to be vital when we get to the paid sex abuse 'experts.'

My grandma once went to a hair salon asking for "one of those blow jobs". Lol

That's just too funny!:floorlaugh:

A question: Will court be in session today? Does anyone know if HLN will be covering it live? It's just kind of confusing since In Session doesn't broadcast it anymore. I need to go out today and will want to tape it.

Do you think the skaters would not have just let the screws fall to the ground, too? Not that I believe that story of hers anyway. I bet cops do carry a small toolbox of sort since they do help motorists at times. Did she unscrew the plate and leave the screws there? Jodi would need to leave the screws in place, skaters...meh, who cares?

It's not clear to me whether the officer had her turn her back plate right side up, or put the front plate back on, or both. Regardless, she had to have screws to put the front plate back on. According to her statement, it's like she came out and somehow the skaters just dropped what they were doing and skated off. There is no way she could find those screws on the asphalt, in the dark. Who would even think about looking for them? I hope Juan thinks it's as important as I do.

ITA!

This case is absolutely NOT overcharged. The state would be remiss in its duties if they did not seek the death penalty in this case. Juan/DA will never give Arias a pass just because she is a female cold blooded murderer.

They have made the right decision. If this had been a male doing the same crime it would be a death penalty case and rightly so. I am proud that they weighed the heinousness of the crime and disregarded the gender of the 🤬🤬🤬 defendant.

That is the way it should be done in every case across our country but sadly in the justice system it fails miserably when it comes to treating female defendants equal to male defendants who do the same type of horrid premeditated murders.

No one else is going to be to blame if Arias gets the death penalty but Arias herself. And I think she is closer than ever before to walking the green mile one day. She deserves no less than Death, imo.

IMO

BBM

100% agree with that. If JA were a man, there would be no quibbling over the DP. If this crime isn't worthy of a DP, what is? What more could JA possibly have done to TA that WOULDN'T warrant the DP? This is a black and white issue (imo).

oh look its JB giving commentary on HLN on JA. Of course he says CA and JA aren't alike.......yeesh. Their CRIMES aren't alike true but as sociopath/psychopaths go...very similar. Even he thinks JA is toast though.

I just CAN'T with JB. How he continues to have a platform is beyond me...I pray he contracts a permanent case of laryngitis. :banghead:

and she does what a coworker of mine does when she is caught in a lie-denies it, even though they have evidence of lying.

I just wish he could follow up with a letter from Walmart or something definitive. There has to be records of some kind to nail that down. Otherwise the DT is going to say it was a kerosene can and she did return it, and it will remain a loose thread. JMO

I STILL don't understand why she made that one up. I mean, 2 gas cans or 3 gas cans, it really didn't make ANY difference. She could have just said she wanted an extra one. A whole lot less trouble (and less traceable) than saying, "I be-bopped back into Walmart, flipped my hair at the man at the desk and he handed me a wad of cash."
