I was shocked listening to DB's testimony. 'I don't remember', 'I don't recall'. Yeah right. When JM asked DB about the gas cans he gave such long pause before finally answering 'yes' in a shaky sort of voice. He ought to be grateful that he's still alive and tell the whole truth! :banghead:

Maybe that's what the new car rental, 9mm handgun and knife hidden away when she was finally arrested....Jodi was gonna take another road trip to see her other exes on last time. Take care of some pesky witnesses.

I STILL don't understand why she made that one up. I mean, 2 gas cans or 3 gas cans, it really didn't make ANY difference. She could have just said she wanted an extra one. A whole lot less trouble (and less traceable) than saying, "I be-bopped back into Walmart, flipped my hair at the man at the desk and he handed me a wad of cash."

LOL no kidding! Her commitment to that lie will be her undoing...at least. She will go to death row over ONE gas can of THREE. How crazy is that? It's like she got in a match of wits with Juan and refuses to bend. I'm so glad for that too.

I just wish he could follow up with a letter from Walmart or something definitive. There has to be records of some kind to nail that down. Otherwise the DT is going to say it was a kerosene can and she did return it, and it will remain a loose thread. JMO

Two words: Rebuttal case. ;)

The question as far as I'm concerned is why lie about it then? Maybe because she can say there were no other injuries on her hands at that time??

The question in my mind is "how many lies does JM have to track down and prove before the exercise becomes redundant?" We know that if JA is caught in just ONE lie her entire testimony becomes suspect.
Debunking all the JA lies might be overkill -although that demonstration would be intensely interesting to the viewing audience.

There is obviously a calculus figuring in JM approach. Proving convincingly that JA is a liar on some issues - particularly regarding premeditation - gets him closer to the 1st degree murder conviction. The defense is obviously presenting material aimed towards "mitigation" EVEN before the verdict. Taking the time and effort to impeach all of her lies might get JM closer to a death sentence??????

I still can't get Travis sending Jodi those awful texts on May 26 and then nine days later she was 1,000 miles away at his house having sex with him and taking the dirty pictures. Plus Jodi told Darrell at the end of May that she was taking a long road trip, and one of the places she mentioned was Arizona. I can understand that Jodi was mad enough to kill him. I even saw during one of her interviews or read a transcript somewhere in which Jodi admitted being a little upset about not getting to go to Cancun. I just can't believe that he willingly let her come into his home (or begged her to come there) and had sex with her. This just doesn't make sense. The roommates never saw her, and no one saw the rental car.

bbm,
Really?

I wonder if someone is sitting somewhere today thinking, 'Oh crap, how am I going to explain this?' I bet somebody is, hmmm.

I know the answer is going to be she was trying to save money, but for Pete's sake, why not buy the damn gas cans, why borrow them?

Just like it seems like it wouldn't make any difference to say she must have hurt her finger while killing Travis, which for a change would be believable. JM has focused a lot of that third gas can - was it just part of proving she's a liar or is there more to it? Might he have evidence of a little bonfire off I-85 in the same timeframe?

and she does what a coworker of mine does when she is caught in a lie-denies it, even though they have evidence of lying.

It so reminds me of my own son at age 3 when he ate the leftover cake frosting in the fridge. He was a very neat eater but left the empty container and spoon on the sofa. I asked him, "did you eat the frosting?" He looked up at me wide eyed and shook his little head "no mommy, I didn't eat it"... Lexi did!

Lexi is a dog... A spoon using, frosting eating dog! Lol

if she'd asked darryl for ONE gas can, we may not even be talking about it. but she gets 2. then she buys a third. the more gas cans she had, the worse it sounds, IMO.

who the hell drives on a trip with a full tank of gas in reserve in 3 gas cans? nobody, that's who. you will never be in such a remote location that you need that much gas to get to a station where you can fill up.

so i think she's denying it because 2 was bad, and 3 is ridiculous, and they know it. it's a desperate attempt to take premeditation out of the equation but it's failed miserably.

She claims she turned her car around while embarking on a long road trip, parked, went back inside a Walmart (which in itself is traumatic), all to return a $12 gas can. Slowing down her trip for what amounts to two strawberry frappucinos. Oh please.

I don't think we can know that for sure. We do know that MM when he visited the RTC went straight over to the TFS in order to pick up some UNB. We also know that DB was at the KLS at about that time. Upon arrival of the DSW the others from WSD claimed vehemently that all of the TRR was up in the UOL which if true confirms that MM was indeed with JA particularly during the VFD.

uh,IDK, WTH? IDK, PLS PM ACRO list, if it's NTMT...TY

Having been a mock juror it is extremely expensive for whomever is having the trial. I have done this about 4 times. In all of the cases the trials have been for 8 hours or less and most of the time 4 hours if they can do it - I think Nurmi uses Websleuths and other websites for his mock jurors. Isn't the state paying for JA's defense?

Sure don't like it that they get our thoughts for "FREE" to help JA.

Well, if he's using us, he isn't listening very carefully!!!!!

Anyone that has ever returned to WalMart probably knows their procedure well. You are going to sign something and/or show ID.Bet the jurors know this, at least some of them. But Juan will probably have proof too and he did back her in a corner already with the Salinas store.

From the official AZ prison info site:

"All male and female inmates on Death Row are classified as maximum custody. All inmates are single cells which are equipped with a toilet, sink, bed and mattress. Each Death Row inmate has no contact with any other inmate. Out-of-cell time is limited to outdoor exercise in a secured area, two hours a day, three times a week, and a shower, three times a week. All meals are delivered by correction officers at the cell front. Limited non-contact visitation is available. Death Row inmates may place two ten minute telephone calls per week. Personal property is limited to hygiene items, two appliances, two books and writing materials, which can be purchased from the inmate commissary. Health care is provided at the Health Unit; medication is passed out at the cell front. Clergy contacts are provided at the cell." To the question "What size are the cells?" the answer is 12' by 7'.

I imagine the food may be a little better for her than Sheriff Joes peanut butter and soy slop...

A lot of us here are convinced JA is guilty (heard it out of her own mouth) well....any how as avid trial watchers when was the last trial you felt the defendant was NOT GUILTY or were persuaded they were Guilty after watching the trial.

Last time I was not sure was David Westerfield in VanDam case. I was convinced by the evidence at trial at the beginning I was not sure.

I know, right?

I still think her trip to DB was not just about those gas cans. She needed something else from DB, IMO.

I still haven't figured out why Juan alluded to Matt being with Jodi when she went to visit DB.:waitasec:

Could this be true?

Actually I'm disappointed in most everyone associated with this trial. Add to that, IMO, JA is overcharged.

Really?!
