Oceanblueeyes says"The Director of this entire fiasco is Jodi Arias totally. Imo, she listens to no one. She is the master of the ship even if the ship is going to sink faster than the Titanic."

Shades of Diane Downs??

I agree, JA is definitely running the show. I have often wondered if Nurmi and JA are sometimes at odds with each other, since she is defiant, cocky and everything in between, also the fact that Nurmi wanted to be excused may have rubbed her the wrong way, we all know how long she can hold a grudge.

It seems Nurmi is going the distance on this case, hence, I don't see incompetent/ineffective council as grounds for an appeal/s of a DP verdict, but what do I know.

We shall see how this all unfolds, hopefully, much sooner than later.

No court till Wednesday, let that recorder cool off some and enjoy your day :)
Thank you, VALee!

It seems like this trial is going to last forever. One day Jodi left court early because of a supposed headache, the judge was out sick for a day, there was a holiday last month, they start late- at 10:30- and only have proceedings 4 days a week, they have long lunches and then breaks, and this week they're off for another two days. What's the deal in AZ? No wonder cases take years and years to be heard. And the tax payers are footing the bill for all this.

Well, if he's using us, he isn't listening very carefully!!!!!

Other than quitting or getting JA off the stand not sure what Nurmi could do with this case or his client. :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

I know, right?

I still think her trip to DB was not just about those gas cans. She needed something else from DB, IMO.

I still haven't figured out why Juan alluded to Matt being with Jodi when she went to visit DB.:waitasec:

Could this be true?

MONEY!!!! i think she got $800 from DB and deposited it in those WAMU accounts right after she left his house.

and i believe JM has some info that matt was with her at DB's house----there's something more to that story, for sure. maybe we'll find out in rebuttal what he's got.

Maybe that's what the new car rental, 9mm handgun and knife hidden away when she was finally arrested....Jodi was gonna take another road trip to see her other exes on last time. Take care of some pesky witnesses.

I think her next victim was going to be Mimi- and lately I have had this strange feeling that JA was going to try to pin the murder on Deanna Reid but something changed that (immediately).

Yeah, I think the judge is largely to blame on this one, IMO. If they are only going 4 days per week, then make them longer days - 7am to 4pm, or at least 8am to 4pm. Adding to that, they NEVER start on time, NEVER come back promptly from lunch, both which shave another another hour to hour and a half off their already short day. It's a part time trial!

A lot of us here are convinced JA is guilty (heard it out of her own mouth) well....any how as avid trial watchers when was the last trial you felt the defendant was NOT GUILTY or were persuaded they were Guilty after watching the trial.

Last time I was not sure was David Westerfield in VanDam case. I was convinced by the evidence at trial at the beginning I was not sure.

I was not sure about the Ramseys, but since reading that new book, I am now 100% convinced it was them.

She claims she turned her car around while embarking on a long road trip, parked, went back inside a Walmart (which in itself is traumatic), all to return a $12 gas can. Slowing down her trip for what amounts to two strawberry frappucinos. Oh please.

:floorlaugh: Oh, my. You and I think SO MUCH alike! Walmart=NIGHTMARE! I'd PAY some Starbucks skaters $12 to return something there for me.

And she parked and went in TWICE?!? JM needs to hammer THAT home!

good morning all,
i'm looking for the list of jury questions. did jurors ask ja about the mats missing from the rental car?

  • #991
It's probably already been discussed somewhere (you guys are MAD posters!), but what did you all think of the juror questions about JA's relationship with her mother and father? I wonder if some jurors are trying to gauge how a death sentence will sit with the folks.

Two cents.

If you can kill someone and pre-plan it, you dang sure can steal (especially from your grandparents) or sell yourself for sex or sell drugs...just sayin'.

Watching those tapes of Jodi and Flores, sometimes she looked like she would have confessed at times but by doing so, she would have to say she stole the gun from her grand-folks. Why that bothered her worse than murdering someone, don't know. Justification in her mind for murder easier than stealing.

Which book is that? I would be interested to read it.

I still can't get Travis sending Jodi those awful texts on May 26 and then nine days later she was 1,000 miles away at his house having sex with him and taking the dirty pictures. Plus Jodi told Darrell at the end of May that she was taking a long road trip, and one of the places she mentioned was Arizona. I can understand that Jodi was mad enough to kill him. I even saw during one of her interviews or read a transcript somewhere in which Jodi admitted being a little upset about not getting to go to Cancun. I just can't believe that he willingly let her come into his home (or begged her to come there) and had sex with her. This just doesn't make sense. The roommates never saw her, and no one saw the rental car.

I posted this before (I actually stole it from another poster, can't remember who :blushing:). They came up with the following scenario. This is the first theory I've heard that, to me at least, makes sense.

Jodi is on her way to Mesa. She calls Travis several times, finally leaves a message that she wants to apologize. He calls her back, they argue for a little while, and finally, because he is basically a nice guy, he agrees she can stop by to apologize in person.

She gets there, fake grovels about whatever thing(s) she did that inspired that 5/26 text. She says she knows they can no longer have a romantic relationship but hopes they can remain friends. Because Travis is a decent person, he forgives her. Big hug. Big hug leads to more. We know Jodi has slept with all her previous boyfriends after she broke up with them, so she knows this role well. They have sex one last time for old times sake. She pretends to leave, comes back, and kills him.

Random thought about Jodi today: I wonder if the jurors who have long ago figured out she is fos are getting pizzed at their fellow jurors who keep asking her questions and prolonging their agony of listening to her blather.

He tried quitting. They wouldn't let him. (As a Southern woman, I'd NORMALLY throw in a "bless his heart" there, but, considering his atrocious assault on the victim in that courtroom, he'll not get any blessings from me!) :twocents:

I don't think we can know that for sure. We do know that MM when he visited the RTC went straight over to the TFS in order to pick up some UNB. We also know that DB was at the KLS at about that time. Upon arrival of the DSW the others from WSD claimed vehemently that all of the TRR was up in the UOL which if true confirms that MM was indeed with JA particularly during the VFD.

:floorlaugh: Were here the day the discussion started about Donovan Bering and Darryl Brewer? People were tearing their hair out trying to figure out which DB was being referred to.

I know nurmi wanted off this case, I know there were others before him, including JA, but I don't know why nurmi could not get off this case, does anyone know why?
