I think there is a good possibility that Travis did not know Jodi was taking pics of him in the shower. For all we know, she "left" his home after loading up her car. It is interesting that all except two pics that show Travis' face are side shots and others don't show his face at all all. The pic at 5:27:18 gives me the impression that Travis thought he may have heard something. Then we have at 5:29:20 pic of his face straight on, most likely sitting in the shower (I am imagining Jodi pointing the knife at travis and in response he slowly lowers himself to the floor, as if trying to back away, stunned). As Travis rose to confront Jodi, she plunged the knife into his chest. The moment would have been perfect, because Travis' arms would have been out to his side against the walls/door frame of the shower as he raised to standing (imagine Christ on the cross). Just my 25 cents!

There's one photo near the end of the sequence that shows Travis Alexander mouth agape that could be the first moment he knew she was there/came/back/never left.

The only thing that counts against that supposition is that some pictures seem to have been taken with a flash, which would be noticable to even someone in a shower with eyes closed. So that supposition breaks down if there was a flash. But maybe there wasn't.

However, even my small pocket-sized Canon A330, depending on setting, will take photos without the flash when the flash is off, or on an auto setting, and not all of them are the orange-toned "flashless" photo.

It depends on the setting that the camera was on and the ambient lighting.

Cameras of that sort have "sport" settings to freeze fast movement, low-light settings and "easy" settings that allows the camera to best guess.

It's also a function of giving the camera time to adjust. Typically you half-press the shutter to allow the camera to auto focus and auto aperature and then completely press the shutter to take a photo. If you mash the shutter without giving it time to process, you can get darker, fuzzy photos where previous photos were crisp and well lit with nothing having changed but the way the shutter was pressed.

One way the camera could take well-lit flashless photos and also dimmer photos could be the camera's light sensor reponding to the change in reflected light as Travis moved under a light source that was directly over his head, at some angles (or relative angle of the photographer crouching low) blocking out more of that available light.

This is, of course, total and complete guesswork with multiple variables. I have no empirical basis for thinking this, or knowledge of the camera used or what settings it was on, but it leads to the intriguing possibility that the whole "photo shoot" claim was hogwash.

JA had taken pictures of the clothing and that was entered into evidence. Not sure about the actual clothing itself.

I think, whether they were made for her or not, she LOVED wearing them. She was obsessed with Travis and she loved the feeling of being 'owned' by him. She wanted nothing more than to have him all to herself.

Feb. 4/ABC News: "The photo of 'Travis Alexander's' and 'Travis', both written in the possessive form, will be relied on by our experts discussing the controlling nature of the relationship (between Alexander and Arias), the possessive nature of the relationship, and what that does to a woman," defense attorney Jennifer Willmott said today after the prosecution objected to the photos. Prosecutor Juan Martinez asked Dworkin whether he knew when the words were put on the shirt and panties. When Dworkin said he could not determine when they were created, Martinez suggested that could have been done after Alexander was killed.

Well, I hope I don't miss the gotcha moment of JM producing another of those t-shirts showing "Being Better Blog" on the back, if they exist, in rebuttal.

One of things that strikes me about her 'linebacker lunge' is how she has her arms spread out wide to the sides. If I were lunging at someone to tackle them my instinct would be to have my arms out in front of me to grab around their waist or back of their legs as I tackled them down.

It was like she was too focused on having her face lined up right for the bullet trajectory.

I am sure he could have quit if he had come clean about his crazy client, at the beginning anyway. But once he was intuit, judge said no. He still could have told Jodi to fire him because he would not go along with self defense and smearing TA. He could have told her she is insane and demanded an insanity defense. But no, he went along with her plan. He is as sick as she is.

Not sure the judge would have allowed Jodi to fire him, but I am curious about what would have happened if Nurmi had gone to the judge and said he knew his client was going to lie on the stand and he couldn't get her to see reason.

I read somewhere that Jodi's hard drive was damaged.

This very thing always bothered me, too. However, last week when JA testified Travis had told her he was getting signs from God he was supposed to marry Mimi Hall, things started to make more sense. We know Travis blogged about wanting to find a wife. We know Mimi told him she only wanted to be friends, which had to be difficult for him. We also know he was still trying to get over Lisa Andrews. So...consider his state of mind. He was probably depressed, lonely, maybe feeling sorry for himself. Along comes Jodi who pays him lots of attention and (ahem) affection, and maybe he was using her to make himself feel better. I'm sure he wasn't proud of it, I'm sure he didn't want anyone to know, and I imagine he still hated her and thought very little of her. But, she caught him at a moment of weakness and he gave into temptation. Makes perfect sense to me.

How could he have ever known what she was really there to do?

It is for those reasons that part of me believes that JA's premeditated plan was to stage TA's death as a suicide - but it turned out too messy and didn't go as simply as she may have envisioned.

The stab to his chest - isn't that how Japanese hara kiri suicide was accomplished?

Perhaps JA had also forged a suicide note? Forging seemed to be one of her fortes.

She tried her darnedest not to be seen or make purchases in AZ.

After the murder, it must have been obvious she couldn't leave a forged suicide note and had to come up with Plan B - "wasn't there"; later Plan C "two ninjas"; and now Plan D - "self defense".

In any case - I give her a grade of F, Guilty and she's earned H*ll. JMHO

My ex-husband..before me... 6 foot, young and very muscled (oil rigger) at the time...defended this girl from bad guys...they stabbed his chest just once, one small stab and it nearly ended his life. You see the rapid slices of surgeon's cuts before you locate the stab scar now. His heart stopped a few times before they saved him.
So I believe Jody did just what the coroner said. I wonder if she didn't jab his neck first tho from the looks of one of those pics and the blood washed away. It doesn't look right.

Isn't an insanity defense only valid if you can find/hire a doctor to give his/her opinion that the defendant is in fact, insane? I wouldn't think it's much of a defense otherwise.

I don't think it would have been hard to find a doctor to testify that there was something seriously wrong with Jodi!!! But, technically, I don't think she's legally insane, she denies she has any mental problems, and I don't think insanity defenses work unless there's a long documented history of hearing voices, hospitalizations, etc.

I think JA shot Travis while he was in the shower enclosure. He then came out like a bull after being wounded and JA had to finish him off with the knife. Went directly to the mirror to see the wounds to his head, got nailed in the back and down the hall they went.

This is my thinking, too!!! I know the evidence is against it, but I still think this. I just can't see how Travis would be threatened into sitting and obeying with only a knife. I think he could wrestle it away if he was not impaired first.

Wolfpack Fan, I just heard that it was Jodi's. What was she hiding that she destroyed it?

If I cut myself on my head or face, the first place I go is the mirror over my vanity to assess the damage.

I think Jodi told him she had photos and taped calls on her phone and offered to stop and let him check her camera and phone to make sure everything was deleted. She told him her other phone was lost so that would not be a problem.

She brought the check (knowing he'd never cash it) as an additional peace offering, but the phone and cameras needed to be physically checked by him.

MOO

For all we know she could have played some of the sex tape for him over the phone. To me there is no other logical reason for that tape to exist other than for blackmail.

I have read, more than a handful of times that the photos look flashless due to them being reprocessed after being deleted. Enhanced. They may have just looked black without enhancements from the lab.

Someone posted up thread about if some jurors might be p***ed about other asking so many questions. I thought I'd take a stab at an answer. Sorry, it was a while ago and I don't remember who posted it!

There is no doubt in my mind that there are some jurors who would like Jodi off the stand ASAP as they have enough information about her to judge her credibility.

That being said, you have to give the jurors who are asking questions a big pat on the back. By doing so, they are opening up their fellow-jurors minds to the "real" Jodi. They can't talk about the case with each other until deliberations, but the jurors asking those questions are talking to them indirectly and telling their fellow jurors where they stand. They are also allowing Martinez to start to toy with her concerning her "facts" such as the imagireturn of the gas can.

From what I've heard from our inside folks, there are times when Jodi answers a question and POP, another question in the basket. To me, that means that Jodi has opened up a new :worms: with her convoluted answer. Who knows where the next set of questions will lead?

Personally, I can't wait for Martinez to continue his cross on Wednesday. It will be electrifying and I don't mind listening at all.

However, I'm hoping the next set of jury questions is the last. This defense case needs to move on and get put to bed so we can move on to the rebuttal case.

I'm expecting the juror questions, direct, and cross to last all day Wednesday and possibly Thursday.

I've never, ever seen a trial with so many juror questions! Of course, I've never seen a jury trial where the jurors can ask questions in a case where the defendant takes the stand. This case may set a new record! :great:

Why would she do so much to have no trace of her in Arizona but then tell Travis about going to see him? Strangers on the road wouldn't remember her but having Travis' roommates and friends know about her presence in his home would mean she did all the gas can/hair dye stuff for nothing at all.

I was just looking for the right place to put this, so, thank you very much! She would never tell Travis she was coming to see him. She would be afraid he would tell someone about it. I think the phone calls were to test the water as to how receptive he would be if she showed up at his door. He had to be surprised when she did. That $200 check would be her excuse, for seeing him again. All the points you make are excellent!

I am convinced a judge would instruct the defense attorney to be ethical and convince his client which direction she should take. He could absolutely refuse to smear TA and allow her to claim self defense anyway. She comes off as an insane psycho either way.
