Not necessarily.

This could really backfire. What if she did return the third gas can and Walmart has proof of it? I never thought the third gas can was that important, but now it may become very important -- for her defense.

I went back and edited my post that court starts at 10:00 vs 10:30. Did I misunderstand Liebchenmutt's post? Is court at 10:30, and I need to go back and re-edit?

No, you had it correctly.

Liebchenmutti's post lists it as Arizona/Mountain time. Arizona is not on Mountain time any more because everybody else in that time zone observes daylight savings. For the Spring/Summer/Fall, Arizona will be on Pacific time. Go figure.

IS the filing date the date JA was charged?

Quoting myself because the original filing date is 7/9/2008?? That was before JA was arrested, right?

I don't care too much for Nurmi or his style, but his client is the one who came up with the false pedophilia claims. What you state would clearly be misconduct, and probably even Crimean. So no! Nurmi did not originate the lie. JA is a pathological lier, it is what she does.

How do you know?

I can't find it to read but someone on the FB said the motion to compel had already happened and todays hearing was to admit the info they had received.

Can anyone confirm that??

I also just saw this on the Joey Jackson fan page.

JM seemed pretty sure of himself at the end of Thursday's questioning with the receipts that added up to 3 gas cans.

Wonder how Long it takes to get those documents?

An incredible (partial) list of Motions that lead up to a trial. I think there are times we have no idea how much work and how many hours are being put in behind the scenes. It does give you a glimpse of what each person is arguing. I can't always tell who was asking for what. Some are obvious.. and some very interesting!
(i think they are most current, on down to oldest) I guarantee her hard drive contents are yet to come. There were too many motions about it for it to not come in. There was something on there I think!

NOTE: TO ALLOW JURY TO CONSIDER POLYGRAPH RESULTS DURING SENTENCING PHASE (6/2012)

http://www.superiorcourt.maricopa.g...rtCases/caseInfo.asp?caseNumber=CR2008-031021

Snipped for space...

The only problem I have w/this is that if SHE believes it (and I thought that in the mind of a sociopath/psychopath their lies are true) then it'll show as all being truthful.

Right?

I think it's ironic that I know by heart the four characteristics of a dangerous mole, thanks to public information dissemination but no acronym to help a parent recognize serious mental illness in a child. There is no mandatory reporting for violent children! I think this is a huge oversight, part of a mentality that says we can't solve it all, so let's not do anything.

Before he died, my son told me he wanted to kill strangers. "Why harm people who have done you no harm?" He answered, "So they will stop laughing at me." I took him to public health psychiatrist who would not talk to me at all --he said there was no money for that, they could only talk to the patient. Of course he didn't tell the doctor he was homicidal, so the result of that day's visit was the instruction for him to stop drinking and then come back and report if he still had any symptoms of anxiety.

Another time (one of many) I took him to the emergency room, on the way he said he would seriously injure the first tech who laid a hand on him. I wanted to tell the med tech and tried to take him aside and he said this to me, "There is nothing we need to talk about that we can't say in front of your son. Let's show some respect, shall we."

We do not have to have genome mapping to start taking the reports of parents and teachers that a child is DANGEROUS, that he loves causing pain and needs treatment.

Honestly, when he died I was relieved that my son did not take innocent people with him. Although the grieving was absolutely horrible, there was a fear that I had learned to live with, a tension that I never knew was there, it was lifted.

Oh my, anagrammy. In your usual eloquent way, you have described what must have been an anguishing part of your and your son's lives.

A college friend of mine had a very similar situation with her son as well. I used to visit with her from time to time until she moved across the country hoping for better medical (psychiatric) care for her son. She was somehow able to get him placed in a good 24-hr care facility where he apparently improved, but only a little. We lost contact when she again relocated, so I don't know how things are now. He would be around 25 years old by now.

I have never forgotten one thing she told me, describing her feelings at the time we last saw each other before she left for California. She said she felt like she and her son were on a deserted island, with no one else there to help them. I had no words for her after she said that; we just hugged and cried. Things did get better for them but I don't know how much. I never heard his specific condition diagnosed. Bless your hurt but obviously very strong and loving heart.

(Please excuse the O/T.)

Could someone explain to me when Juan is CE Jodi about Travis shaving why she won't admit to what she said on the tape? Why is this important for Juan? Thanks

In the Flores interview she tells him (second interview) that it took a "lot of convincing prior, while he was shaving" to allow the shower pics. Martinez points out that indeed Travis does appear freshly shaven in final pic.

The reason she fought Juan so hard on the whole whose idea was it to take pics in the shower is precisely because she KNOWS if she says its her idea then it shows premed. That she lured him into the shower naked and vulnerable to kill him. She went round and round with Martinez and said she and Travis discussed Calvin Klein type ads in JANUARY and in JUNE he was ready to do them because his body was "cut" (oops bad word Jodi).

This is her defense; he was ready to do this photo shoot because he was "more toned" by June and had this new camera. He asked her to take the pics, she drops camera and he attacks her and she kills in self defense.

But the opposite is true. She convinced him (like she said in Flores interview) to take shower pics. He is naked and vulnerable and she kills him. This is where on second Flores interview the ninjas arrive...when they are taking shower pics

No way I believe Juan asked that question without already knowing the answer.

I also just saw this on the Joey Jackson fan page.

What I saw looked like an addendum (with todays date at the bottom for new motion) but didn't look like today was the start date of the entire thing. Hmmmm.

Guess we'll find out soon enough.

I KNOW JM did not ask about that 3rd gas can without the info that one hadn't been returned.

it **could** have been defense team administered (thus questions/scope would be at the discretion of the defense if that is the case)

:twocents:

True - but it does say "To Defendant's Response", so I assumed it was a State motion.

ETA: I changed my highlighting to red when I saw the blue wasn't showing up in the quote.

Actually, Arizona doesn't observe daylight savings, so they are currently on Pacific Time, same as California.

I knew I shouldn't have posted anything!!! For some reason, this whole time change thing has scrambled my brains and put me in a Fognesia™.

I am totally unable to grasp figuring out the time zones. Surely that's a sign of genius?

I didn't find it convincing. Why fill up a third gas can after the murder?

  • #957
she admits killing Travis.
But claims innocence ?

Man in shower defenseless, she claims she was scared.
His hands were a weapon.
I mean what???

  • #958
No bluff. You can pretty well guarantee his investigator had already gleaned this verbal information, and probably even a fax copy, from Walmart and the gas bar first. They are simply following up by requesting the official paperwork, IMO.
I thought a Motion to Compel was for either the Prosecution or Defense team to force the opposition into producing documents they might have ?

Holy Moly!

(a) Thanks for the list. Certainly is interesting.

(b) Polygraph?!?! Suppose she actually took one? Or were they just considering it?

Wasn't the poloygraph only Q&As about the forged letters?
