I believe July 9th was the day the indictment was handed down. She was arrested later. Not positive, but pretty sure.

Yes, July 9 (the defendant's birthday btw) is the day of grand jury indictment.
She was arrested on July 15 (same day as C Anthony btw).

Damn it.

I was so thankful that ja had never met TA's siblings, so they would not be drug into this case, namely ja had never met his siblings or she surely would have imo.

Now this crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't find it convincing. Why fill up a third gas can after the murder?

I'm on the fence about this myself. I'm not yet convinced. It is very common for lawyers on cross-examination to throw out questions like that to imply the answer that they want. I hope that the records do reflect that Jodi is lying about the third gas can so the jury can see that she is lying on an ongoing basis.

If I were the prosecutor, given the testimony and evidence that we actually have -- I would focus on her testimony that she filled up in Desert Center and Buckeye, because those are simply not possible for two reasons that can be easily proven:

1. She could not have gone through more than half a tank of gas by the time she reached Desert Center, and she could not have gone through another tank of gas by the time she got to Buckeye, and

2. She filled up gas cans in SLC, and those cans would not have been empty if she filled up in Desert Center, Buckeye and Mesquite, NV.

I anticipate that Juan will focus on these in his rebuttal case and will possibly get into this more during his questioning that he started last week.

Holy Moly!

(a) Thanks for the list. Certainly is interesting.

(b) Polygraph?!?! Suppose she actually took one? Or were they just considering it?

The DT wanted everything out that would point to Jodi's guilt.

NOTE: TO ALLOW JURY TO CONSIDER POLYGRAPH RESULTS DURING SENTENCING PHASE (6/2012)

Guess she did not pass.

It was Jodi's lawyers that wanted the polygraph results considered during sentencing -- they were denied.

I thought that had to be agreed upon BEFORE a polygraph test is taken. Is that right?

Could someone explain to me when Juan is CE Jodi about Travis shaving why she won't admit to what she said on the tape? Why is this important for Juan? Thanks

I think that JM was trying to drive home the fact that TA shaved that day before he had his shower. I went back and listened to the original tape when she was talking with Det. Flores and in typical JA style she does talk about two different instances. One when TA allowed her to take the photo of him shaving that he subsequently used on his myspace page and then the second, where she talks about having to convince him to take the shower pics on the day he died. I think JM was confused on this issue unfortunately.

Actually, Arizona doesn't observe daylight savings, so they are currently on Pacific Time, same as California.

I just logged onto this thread just to find out what time tomorrow (Eastern Standard time) will court begin? I get confused on the daylight savings time vs. Arizona time. Thanks for any help in that direction.

ETA. I'm thinking three hours difference now.

I was just looking for something regarding this case and now I can't remember what I was looking for.

Who was yelling at me to get my brain so fogged?? :tears:
Probably Steely Dan

She said he threw a CD (one of those she said she brought to him of church excursion pics) and it bounced off the wall and landed on her head or clipped her bangs or some such, I've been waiting for that CD to come into evidence as it must still be in the office and the only reason she mentioned it. I never believed the office sex thing, she initially told Flores they 'had sex in the bedroom and then down in the office' as if they always did that, when she told it in court he practically raped her in the office. But there must be some evidence in the office she's trying to make seem normally since she'd been in there.

Did they fingerprint her check(s) to see if he'd ever touched them or she brought them with her?
Who knows? Maybe she snuck in there at 4 am, snooped around his stuff and had a little nap on the floor where she said she was lying down while he was on the computer?

Hi there

1:00 est.

What has to be considered before a polygraph is taken?

That both sides agree to allow the results to be presented in court. I thought I read that before. That the only way to get the results of a polygraph admitted into court is by both sides agreeing to allow it before the test is performed.

Yes, it's a three hour difference. So for us, it will be 1:00 p.m. if the trial starts at 10:00 a.m. Or at 1:30 p.m. if the trial starts at 10:30 a.m.

I'm confused about the start time (and many other things). Someone else here probably has a better idea.

Arizona and Hawaii do not have Daylight Savings Time. I believe Arizona would be 3 hours earlier than Eastern Standard Time. So if court starts at 10:15am it would be 1:15pm Eastern. Anyone else? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh, I don't know about that - they are usually inadmissible, and I can't imagine any lawyer agreeing in advance to admit polygraph results when they don't know what the results will be.

In this case, it looks like Jodi's defense team hired their own polygraph administrator and apparently they think it will somehow help her in sentencing. They judge ruled that the polygraph evidence will not be allowed during penalty phase because if we get to that point she will have already been convicted, and the polygraph results would be used as evidence of "lingering doubt" after conviction, but that's not appropriate in a penalty phase.

whenever you tuned in before, it will be an hour later than that, if you live in a state that went on DST. that's how i remember it. i had a friend in AZ for years. from spring to fall, we were 2 hours apart, after that 1 hour apart.
