Respectfully, I don't see how I can conclude she is an alcoholic? She admits to being drunk the night Lisa disappeared and to drinking a couple to a few times a week but alcoholism is much different than being drunk or having drinks a few times a week.

So I'm not sure I can conclude that Jeremy is co-dependent.

Alcoholism and drinking are two very different things. I haven't seen anything yet that tells me she is an alcoholic. She may very well be, I don't know. But I have to wait and see if there are any other factors that point to that.

JMHO.

I have lived with one! I don't have to wait to see. It's like watching my daughter in another body. No offense intended but it's my opinion and I stand by it.

..in her sneak peek---megyn kelly also mentions the cell phones.

--the family says those phones were under restricted service

--they hadn’t paid their bill, so weren’t allowed to make outgoing calls.

--they believe the police aren't being truthful about the alleged 2:30 a.m. call since the phone couldn't make an outgoing call anyway.

( so why the big deal about reprogramming phones that weren't able to make calls anyway? )

Interesting that they couldn't pay their phone bill.

How bad are their finances? Bad enough to sell a baby?

Good Grief! I was walking through when DB was explaining the moniters, static, etc. I said aloud, "Boy, she just has an answer for everything."
Next I heard DB say, "Of course, we have an answer for everything."
I think I need a nap....

A "restaurant pour" yields 5 glasses/bottle, 5 oz each. At home most people pour substantially more.

Very good point in a restaurant you are lucky to get 1/4 of a glass. That's why it is better to buy a bottle instead of buying glasses. jmo

And generally, sites which talk about metabolizing alcohol measure a glass of wine at 3-5 oz.

Plus, larger wine glasses are meant to have a lot of head room - it allows the air to collect at the top of the glass, so that you smell the wine when you drink it. It's why there are different shaped glasses for different types of wine. Even if you have a large goblet, you're still supposed to only pour 3-5 oz. Most people, though, pour substantially more.

I agree but she may be on the way. I do believe the addicting behaviour can be genetic. But, I will say she does not appear to me to be an alcoholic or even a heavy drinker. She is a big girl, but she does not appear bloated or unkept. She actually looks quite healthy with a beautiful complexion. jmo

From what I saw of their house it looked well kept too, however I have met high functioning alcoholics who from outside appearances seem normal...

M Kelly says she believes there's video tape of the father working at Starbucks that night.

  • #571
They just said on Fox news they don't know what she told the police about being drunk.

MK said there's video of the father working at Starbucks to confirm his alibi.

More useless wine info: a traditional measure of wine used to be 4 oz, this was the standard to measure alcohol content and calories, etc... I see that Franzia now uses the 5 oz measure for standard. I am using Franzia as that is what it looked like in the video.
Info from franzia.com.

If you are looking for lowest caloric content (which probably means alcohol content too), go for Refreshing White; Sunset Blush; or, Chianti.

Sorry if off topic but do I remember correctly that one of the boys belongs to dad only? I am wondering if mom could have told dad that HIS child was somehow responsible for Lisa being hurt/killed/taken. It might explain why dad seems to be covering for her and also why she doesn't want the boys interviewed by LE again.

Does anyone know if the two children were questioned? I think I read somewhere that the one child was 6...how old was the other one? I have 2 grandsons, ages 9 and 6(soon to be 7 in two months) and they would rat you out in a heartbeat if they knew something important. Wouldn't one of the children have heard something if someone else had been in the house?

Look how close the neighbor's dog gets to the front of house: M Kelly on video of yard
MK: their dog [neighbor's] also stays in backyard 24/7 and barks at everything

For the sake of comparison, DB looks to be about the same weight as I am. Now I don't know her height but I am 5'8'' and around 245.

I have gotten tipsy (not drunk) on 3 glasses of Moscato wine.

I can hold my liquor fairly well, and when I was younger (I'm now 28), did my fair share of drinking. I once went to a bar with a friend and knocked back 15 or 16 shots, right after the other, could barely walk out of the bar. Had to be picked up (I NEVER drove drunk), and pretty much passed out by the time I arrived home.

I still remember that night. I remember what I drank, how much I drank, what my friend was drinking, I remember taking her keys from her (she only lived 2 blocks from the bar and our town is pretty safe, plus she had another friend there willing to walk her home), I remember my husband taking me to walmart to buy some bread (he always makes me eat bread and drink water before I go to bed after drinking... surprise-never have had a hangover in my life).

I just don't buy that she "blacked out" over 5 or 6 glasses of wine unless they were large glasses. Not of the boxed stuff. Especially if she drinks on a regular basis.

As a parent, I drink very rarely (once or twice a year) and it's usually at the bar with a friend, and yes, I can get pretty drunk, but my husband is always around to take care of the children if I do get inebriated and have to crash at a friend's house. I would NEVER EVER drink to get drunk just because my children are sleeping ESPECIALLY when I am their only caretaker. This reeks of irresponsibility and the fact she is excusing it and giggling infuriates me.

BTW, I have an ex-friend who is an alcoholic. (Won't admit to it) She says she only drinks 2-3 times a week, when in fact, she drinks every night. Has problems paying her mortgage because every time they have cash, they're using it to fill the liquor cabinet. I know she's full of it because she used to call me EVERY SINGLE NIGHT drunk as a skunk. She thought because she was on the phone I couldn't tell... but her speech was always so slurred, I could barely make out what she said.

This woman has not been honest, so I don't buy her story now. I'm not sure that she was drunk, but if she was, it doesn't mean she didn't chase that wine with some harder liquor. In fact, I'd bet on it if she's so nonchalant about drinking when her kids are in her care.

She sounds like Terri Horman...I wonder if she could do sexting on her phone...
