Well I disagree because the police was feeding he media machine. So still it lays at the polices feet.

We don't really know that.
There were lots of people in that house at the time the body was found. Lots of neighbors were probably gossiping and the Ramsey lawyers certainly had their share of information they could leak.

I find those potential sources far more likely than the cops who typically have a media spokesperson for crimes like these.

I believe that the police ignored from the beginning that this could have been someone other than the R's.
They put these people on trial in the media without evidence to convict them.

The police clearly thought from the start that this was a kidnapping case, which is why they called in the FBI, set up traps and tracers, allowed all those civilians in the crime scene, etc. Sure they were suspicious...but they treated the case like a kidnapping up until the body was found. Incompetent as you think they were, if they had focused on the Ramseys being guilty they would have immediately separated them and taken statements.

I believe the cops are why we don't have a suspect in prison now. If they had done it correctly from the beginning then I really think someone who have been brought to trial by now.

They made huge mistakes.. Right from the start.

I think the Head wound is one of those things that takes the R's out of it for me. That is a big bash and a big wound. That is a hard slam..

I would have to believe that the R's on Christmas night became so enraged that they beat and garroted their child with such incredible hatred as to not care at all for her.

I see a child that is well taken care of, Invested in, loved and wanted .

Nothing goes to this kind of brutal crime.

I'm not discussing theory. I'm stating fact.
What the police did and didn't do is not inherently IDI. As a matter of fact, during this entire discussion of who was called and when, an intruder/kidnapper has not been mentioned.

FBI was called in a timely manner.
Cops treated the crime as a kidnapping for several hours instead of a murder.
We don't know who leaked information to the media.

I still can not see how they did not search down here, and go to the very end with lights. Looking for evidence and anything important. They should have scoured that basement.

Police first had to get to the crime scene to determine there had in fact been a kidnapping, question the R's and the group of friends and associates the R's had assembled together at the home to muck up the evidence. It must have been like herding kittens at that house. With the chaos the R's created , I'm amazed police managed to make that call to FBI within an hour.

That is the police responsibility. I totally understand the police treating it as a kidnapping threat but they still had to control the enviroment and the evidence therein. There is no excuse for not finding that body in the house and there is no excuse for them to have DNA locked away that they didn't find for several years.

The police did what they did because they believed it was a kidnapping and went back home to be with their families for xmas leaving an inexperienced officer with the Ramsey's. It was after the body was found, that they missed by the way, that changed the game. I mean that is unexcusable. RDI or IDI, that just can't happen. Especially since the crime scene had been cleaned up and the Ramsey's were treated with kid gloves until that point.

And then it is determined the note was in the house written with instruments already there. Hmmm! Does this sound like a basis for a lawsuit? Hmmm! And you have DNA that doesn't match the Ramsey's stored away in evidence for 3 years before they even realize it wasn't tested or even if they had it.

Hmmmm! It is so sad to me that the Ramsey's get all the criticism they get based on all these facts. I wish they would have helped LE more but I totally understand why their attorneys didn't allow it. I mean you got LE doing secret interviews to the media, some quitting and writing a book, and the perfect storm was created. RDI is going to tell you the Ramsey's created this storm but I don't agree.

I wish they would have helped LE more but I totally understand why their attorneys didn't allow it. I mean you got LE doing secret interviews to the media, some quitting and writing a book, and the perfect storm was created. The timeline must be preserved here because most of the things you're talking about either hadn't happened yet or weren't part of the Ramsey knowledge before the Ramseys decided not to cooperate. So while it may be the Ramseys good fortune that their decision to not cooperate turned out to benefit them, they in no way knew at the time the mistakes being made would benefit them.

I realize that RDI has credible support and theory but so does IDI and you shouldn't be here with that kind of comment.

I agree with you.. If the police had done their job correctly, not bungled the whole thing I think someone would have been convicted by now.

People want to blame the R's because honestly they can not figure out who else did this and the R's are the easy target. It does not take much sleuthing to see that there is plenty of things that point away from the R's.

But jumping on the R did bandwagon is easiest way to appease the masses.

IF the police had not handled this like a petty burglary and a real case ASAP, I bet there would be much more evidence in the files and most likely someone in prison.

Sure it was. You don't recall them on interviews saying the Ramsey's were under an umbrella of suspicion. Also magazine articles implicating the Ramsey's with LE being the protected source of divulging the information to the media. You obviously don't. The Ramsey's were fine answering questions up until a point.

Dont get me wrong, I wish they would have cooperated more. But with all the leaks and realization that this Police Dept was a screw up I understand. See, losing all the evidence RDI's look at it as too bad for the prosecution. I look at it as too bad for the Ramsey's. They deserved better if someone else came in and killed their daughter.

Boulder is a screwed up town and crooked. Many blame the Ramsey attorneys for that but it is preposterous. Blame the elected officials.

I am getting alerts from both sides of the fence. We started this idea of a "one theory" thread with a lot of hesitancy because frankly, this has been tried before and it became a nightmare.

It's up to you guys whether or not we'll continue. And because the alert problems have been from both sides, I don't want to hear that one side ruined it for the other. Both sides are making mistakes. It needs to end. Now.

Really? I see a child that was sexualized so much! She had bleached blonde hair, bleached teeth, false eyelashes, way too much makeup and lipstick, wore outlandish adult-like costumes, even had a provocative "adult-like", come-hither closeup photographs. Who does that and why? What's the rush in having your little girl turn into a "flirty" sexpot when she has plenty of time to learn on her own how to garner attention based on her looks---and in due time. She was made to put on a show....one that was bent on grabbing the attention of adults.
And inadvertantly and of no fault of her own (of course)....she did. Fatal.

I have participated in numerous beauty pageants as a young adult. There's a lot that goes on with it. I enjoyed the scholarship money. I would *never* get my child involved with that. And I would *never* create a mini-adult out of a little girl. That is shameful.

It has always hit me as so wrong when I saw JBR's pics. It struck me as waving a red flag at a raging bull (pedophiles). Her beauty pageant pics are absolutley haunting. Chilling, really.
