State department has now urged American Citizens to leave most of the Middle East

You wouldn’t catch me getting on a flight over that region at the minute!
All 'sitting ducks', unable to leave, caught up in this, no warning, the citizens, the business people, vacationers, family visiting family, from a LOT of countries. Nice. IMO

Leaders of the regime were all in government buildings and private homes/compounds that have been destroyed. Launch sites and other military targets have been destroyed and/or damaged. Can't possibly be done without collateral damage. Clearly the intent is not widespread destruction of the country. If the goal was to hit civilian targets, the losses would be devastating, like the slaughter of the protesters ordered by the now dead Auatollah.

I would expect that the list will grow but it does not show what some claim.

Damaged one high school, 2 children killed
Damage to Aboozar Children's Hospital
Damage to 3 medical emergency centers, three different provinces.
Iranshahr St, main building of province's medical emergency services damaged, several staff members injured
At least 175 people, most of them likely children, were killed in a strike on a girls’ elementary school in southern Iran on Saturday, health officials and Iranian state media said.

The search for survivors in the rubble of the Shajarah Tayyebeh school in the southern town of Minab ended Sunday, according to Mohammad Radmehr, the governor of Minab, Iranian state media reported. It appeared to be the deadliest attack in the ongoing American-Israeli bombing campaign.

Several videos and images verified by The New York Times showed that at least half of the two-story school was destroyed in the explosion. Emergency workers with the Red Crescent could be seen alongside families desperately combing through the rubble, which was littered with schoolbooks and book bags covered in blood and ashes. Portions of the building jutted out from the rubble, with bits of colorful murals visible on what were once the walls of the school. Desks were piled with debris.

the white house's claim is "More Americans have been killed by Iran than any other terrorist regime on Earth." japan used kamikazes, nazi germany had the SS. how were they not terrorist regimes?

and where did this rule come from that it had to be in the last 70 years? nothing about that in the white house's statement. you're whittling down the definitions to rescue their claim from the facts.
Lol. Who was manipulating definitions in order to find fault, somehow, in the White House's statement?

To be clear, that is completely understood.

My point was that the collateral damage will grow. More infrastructure will be damaged. People who do and don't support the Ayatollah's regime are being harmed, with schools and medical facilities sustaining collateral damage.

This will affect their lives negatively, and I am really not sure that the population - as a whole - ascribes to that. Which may affect their opinions about the ongoing attacks.

Other people - outsiders - making their decisions for them.

But isn't that exactly what seems to be happening? I don't seen any wholesale destruction of the Iranian infrastructure. Do you have links to information about infrastructure destruction? The goal seems to be to cut the head off to allow the people their chance.

Your Response:
I have posted many links. So have others. You would have to read something other than the filtered (imo) US news.

The govt offices, the military offices, hospitals, schools .... and they are only in Day Three of the attack.

You said nothing about understanding there is going to be collateral damage, and that the US news is filtering information to hide destruction of the infrastructure.

Hopefully I have clarified it for you now. :)

The IRGC says it has carried out a “new wave of attacks” on the Arifjan Base hosting US troops in Kuwait using 10 drones.

The drones successfully hit their targets, it claimed.
There was no immediate comment from Kuwait or the US.

not me. the fault was already there. you and other people keep narrowing the definition "terrorist regime" instead of just admitting the statement was false.

After Spain's position on Gibraltar, many in the UK don't see Spain as an ally. After Spain's deals with the PRC, many in the EU don't see Spain as a reliable team player
After Brexit, many in the EU don't see the UK as an ally!! In fact, that was the case before Brexit too, same re reliable team player. The EU countries don't always agree with each other, so what? They find a compromise and don't normally go to war on each other. MOO

To be clear, the list I made was from the post, it was copied directly from the post that listed hospitals and school damage, if it was not in that person's post, I did not include it in the list on my reply.

The conversation is about destruction of the infrastructure, not for it to be proven there is collateral damage, that's a given.
Iranian state media is not a trusted source.
Is this suppose to be proof of intentional destruction of the infrastructure or a claim that the school was an actual target? Are you believing that that it was an intentional "strike on a girls' school"? If so, why just one school, and why damage some hospitals? If they were the target, they would be completely destroyed and why would it be just a few when hundreds are available. Government buildings, military sites (includes any location used to launch and hide missles and drones, personnel) are the targets.

Did I say they were freedom fighters? Nice job putting words in my mouth <modsnip: Members are not "dude">.

I’m saying there’s a reason they were formed whether they are good or evil. Their creation didn’t come out of nowhere. <modsnip>
Actually, they were formed because Hitler's bestie, Haj Amin Husseini passed his desire to complete the job started in europe along to his successors. , .
mufti and himmler.webp

"The Mufti injected a religiously based anti-Jewish component into the emerging Palestinian national consciousness. Lebel relates how in 1931, Haj Amin organized the Pan-Islamic congress, which demanded the end of Jewish immigration and rescinding of the Balfour declaration."
"During the years of the Mandate, local Arabs who did not share his extreme hostility towards the Jews were targeted and eliminated."
...
"Believing that the Axis might prevail in the war, the mufti secured a commitment from both Italy and Germany to the formation of a region-wide Arab state. He also asked for permission to solve the Jewish problem by the “same method that will be applied for the solution of the
Jewish problem in the Axis states.”
...
"Haj Amin repaid Hitler’s promise of support by providing a bridge to the Muslim world. An office known as the Das Arabische Buro was opened in Berlin under the auspices of the German Abwehr. The mufti provided a spy network to the Germans while receiving a salary of 75,000 RM."
"While his political plans to establish a Palestinian state and bestow upon himself the role of preeminent leader of the Arab world ultimately failed, Haj Amin el-Husseini left a deep imprint on Palestinian consciousness."

Anyone who travels to the Middle East to do business or vacation or visit family likely develops a plan in advance in case something happens while there. When we visit family in the PRC we develop an exit plan or plans in the event that something happens between Beijing and Taiwan while we are there. It wouldn't make sense to travel to these international hot spots without doing so.

It’s not like the government could tell citizens to leave those countries because they were about to launch a surprise attack.

That would defeat the purpose.

“The US Mission to Saudi Arabia has issued a shelter in place notification for Jeddah, Riyadh and Dhahran and are limiting non-essential travel to any military installations in the region – we recommend American citizens in the Kingdom to shelter in place immediately and avoid the Embassy until further notice due to an attack on the facility,” the embassy said in a social media post.

As we’ve been reporting, Saudi authorities said the attack caused a “limited fire” and minor damage.

************

The US is bolstering its forces in the Middle East by deploying an additional 15 refueling aircraft, according to the Israel Hayom news outlet.

These aircraft allows for air-to-air supply to fighter jets and other military aircraft without having to land allowing for faster fuel transfer.

Israel Hayom also reported that the refueling aircraft were accompanied by fighter jets.
It did not say how many fighter jets were deployed.

Simple, right?? Massive amount of people all trying to fit on jets and planes that aren't flying. ;) IMO

We have 115,000 Aussies in the region who can't get out.

"As a result, thousands of travellers have been stranded across the globe with more than 115,000 Australians in the region, unable to get out.

"For example, airlines that are based in the Middle East will really try to resume flights as quickly as possible because of the intense impact to them," he said.

"Whereas foreign airlines that maybe only operate to those locations occasionally or a few times a week, they may have a much higher threshold for their willingness to bring aircraft back to that region."

He said airlines would need to consider local regulations and weigh up if it was worth operating their "multi-million-dollar assets" in a potentially risky environment."

I have friends stranded in Dubai. They’re making the best of it.

If you want to wipe out a great deal of Iran’s leadership in a single blow, you can’t lose the element of surprise.

Travel advisories were in effect prior to this.
