Is it possible that Avery WAS guilty of the rape of PB?

What I'm saying is that the original pubic hairs could very well have been Avery's but his uncle just so happened to switched them to get his little nephew out of jail. That is...if we are talking conspiracy.

To do that, he would have had to plant Gregory Allen's pubic hairs in the evidence. How did he get those? Unless you're implying they both participated in the rape and his uncle was able to somehow differentiate between SA and GA's pubic hairs and remove only SA's?

Explain to me how his uncle could have switched out pubic hairs, please.

I never said he was convicted, having committed a crime and being convicted are 2 different things. Lots of people commit crimes they are never convicted of doing. The girls mother reported to the police that he was spending way too much time with the girl...the girls mother became concerned...way before TH ever disappeared....

I just find it wrong that someone can go spouting off that he is a rapist when these accusations are unfounded and never prosecuted for these so call allegations. There may have been a complaint. They very well could have charged him and held him accountable for rape even though he was already serving time for murder.

Also the pubic hairs were from PB's rape kit. I think out of it they found something like 12 or 13 hairs and it was only 2 that had the root that contained the DNA. One of them being PB's pubic hair. Would mean someone took that one hair and mixed it in with her rape kit and her pubic hairs.

Why would SA's uncle have waited 18 years to get his nephew out ? Gregory Allen had a criminal record a mile long.

You are totally entitled to being appalled. I am appalled that people still think that law enforcement might have somehow killed Theresa, but we are all entitled to be appalled. And, I would love to see a legitimate document that says that Allen admitted to raping PB. This could make a huge difference in how I feel. So far, I've never seen that.

I haven't seen anyone claim that anyone from LE actually killed TH.

I don't want to word this in a way that will be taken the wrong way. I respect that we are all allowed to have an opinion here, no matter what we believe.

The way you feel, is the way that I seen and could see LE (not all of them) feel about SA. Even though he was exonerated, they refused to believe that it wasn't him that did it. Even PB accepted the fact that SA didn't rape her. On top of their belief that he already "got away with rape", SA wanted to be paid $36 million for it???? So when a girl goes missing.... there was tunnel vision, was there planting too? Who knows... but there are a lot of questions that don't have answers.

Yes! I feel as if LE really thinks he was guilty of the rape and therefore he could've done the murder. I remember quite clearly the judge saying something like, "Based on your prior crimes (before TH murder), it is not safe for you to be out in the community. You are probably the most dangerous individual we have ever had in this courtroom". Like, WHAT? He had convictions for burglaries, animal abuse and assaulting his cousin, which are awful crimes I understand that but for someone who deals with rapists, murderers, child abusers, pedophiles etc, are you really going to say that this man's prior crimes are worse than them? And that he is the most dangerous man they've ever had in their courtroom, even more dangerous than murderers and child abusers? It really seemed as if he was including the rape in his prior crimes.

Honestly, I don't believe for a second he did the sexual assault.

I find eyewitness testimony to be unreliable to be honest, especially during a horrific sexual assault or crime (robbery). I only really believe it if there have been multiple witnesses and/or there is evidence supporting it. Although sometimes it has worked but sometimes it hasn't. I'm glad SA doesn't place any blame on PB. It was a stressful time for her. I feel as if LE tricked her (saying at the hospital when they first interviewed her "that sounds like SA") and put it in her head as she was very vulnerable and wanted someone caught. Reliving the memories of the assault to remember the assailant's face would've been awful too and maybe why she went along with LE. But I've never been in that position (and hopefully never will) so I really can't say for certain what she felt.

Plus there was a receipt he had showing he was elsewhere and 16 witnesses to verify his alibi.

I really think 100% GA did it. Someone who was known for being a bit of a creep and (I believe) had assaulted people near that beach before.

I feel very sorry for the women who were assaulted by him during SA's time in prison and knowing that it could've been prevented as it could've been solved years ago (even in 1995 when Colburn got the phone call)

By the way, TheDuchess, is that your dog in your avatar? He's so cute. I love Cavaliers/Cavoodles

Whether you believe Steven Avery killed Teresa Halbach or not - he was in fact, wrongfully convicted for the rape of Penny Beerntsen. He was exonerated based on scientific testing. What more does it take for someone to prove their innocence? It's really kind of a sad to keep accusing someone of a crime they have been exonerated for. Makes me wonder if this is common for others who have been wrongfully convicted and later cleared- to continually face other members of society who say, "sorry, we still think you're guilty."
