Is There a new development regarding TES?

Wasn't KC about to go (or had been planning a trip) to CA to see MH just before the 15th of July and she got busted? Wonder how/if that might come into play here

One thing that's had me curious since we first learned of it, is the Orange County detectives going to California to talk with Leonard Padilla. WHY??? If it's to discuss Leonard's theory, they could do that over the phone.....no reason to make a long trip to California. If it's about the phone records Lee gave LP, he could fax the detectives a copy.......again, no reason for a long trip.

It's something more. LP said words to the effect of if it were him, he'd be talking to MH, and maybe that's the reason for the trip. He's vague about it, and I have to think that the reason Orange County detectives are making a trip to California is crucial to their investigation.

It's LE that saying that we're going to hear some major developments and we're going to be surprised........TES was just mentioning this in passing. I think that LE is gathering new information that will determine a new area of search. TES abruptly stopped their search near the airport in Orlando, and I think it may be because LE had just learned something that led them to feel that the airport search was not the area that needed to be searched.

I just read this article and now i THINK they may have found something ..

interviewer question: What steps
do you take with your search team at
that point? ( when you think you have found something)

Tim Miller Response;
During my initial briefing of
the search team, I let everyone know
the basics. I tell them that when you
find something, you stop. You don’t
get excited. You just step backward in
the same steps you went forward with
so you don’t take a chance that you
will be contaminating anything. The
team leader stays there, within visual
distance of the body. Everyone else
leaves. But the team leader stays until
law enforcement arrives. And we let
everyone on the team know that you
do not dial 911—because if you do, the
media will probably get to the scene
before the police get there.

Interviewer Question:

So you are
media conscious, right?

Tim Miller Response:

Right. Many times, after a
body has been found at one location,
we have continued our search in other
areas for as long as three hours as if
nothing had been found. That way, the
police can get there and secure the
scene and start their investigation.

The article is from Evidence technology. I will post the link (below) if anyone is interested in reading the complete article Interesting..
It is a pdf. file

This says a lot, and does fit with what we've heard about the search for Caylee. One of the searchers posted here saying that when he/she left after the search had been called off, there was a LE presence in a specific area where the search had been done. That person felt something had been found that Sunday morning.

I mentioned this earlier on another thread. This could be the reason Casey asked her mom for "one more day" during the 911 call. She was going to flee to Cali.

Leila, I've been feeling the same way. There is no way on gods green earth that 2 detectives would fly out to CA just to talk with LP & crew and even the marine. I'm sooooo thinking there is more to this.

Just a theory, but....maybe someone took Padilla up on his $50,000 reward for a lead on the location of Caylee body. I havent heard him mention it the last couple of nights and that would certainly be a good reason for them to want to speak with Padilla

I remember thinking how odd it was to have 1,000 searchers on midday Sunday be told to go home instead of taking them to another area and calling off the searches even temporarily. There were plenty of other places to look.

They would have to go there to gather DNA - is there any reason why determining paternity would help the case? Like would the father gain instant rights that would help them hold Casey if he wanted to press certain kinds of charges or something?

Sorry if this has been discussed.
No, the father doesn't gain instant rights. Paternity has to be determined, then they (ma and pa) would have to go thru Florida's equivalent of Child and Family services to set up FIRST AND FOREMOST the support issue, and then the visitation/custody arrangements.

If Caylee is indeed dead, all of the above is moot.

Yes, but they wouldn't want to indicate her remains had been found until they *knew* it was her. DNA testing is not an instantaneous process as it is depicted on TV shows.

Also there is always the possibility that the Anthony's *have* been notified. They wouldn't want the public to know if her remains had been found IMO. It is already a media and protester circus.

LE AFAIK has no obligation to release information to family OR media when they are building a case until the discovery phase of a trial. I think in a unique situation like this that would include the discovery of a body.

I am one of those who thinks that TSE found something on their search before they pulled out. The abrupt departure and attitude of some of the searchers says more than words IMO.

But, I could be wrong :)

If something was found, and the family notified, it would explain why JB seems to be preparing for a murder trial. He tried to stop further testing unless the defense has input on what labs will do the testing.

Was this the incident with the JetSkis? Where they had the mobile crime lab out, supposedly because some stolen jetskis were found, but they left the jetskis there?

Thank you.

maybe they need the DNA from the father first to make sure its a match before they release anything to public and media. I know if the body is badly decomosed it can be all kinds of problems -and they have to find alternative methods to properly id..

If LE has a good idea who the biological father is, they may want to confirm that through doing a DNA on the father. Caylee's DNA is going to be from both parents. Not having the father's DNA might be holding up a 100% identification of any remains found, if indeed there were remains found.

And as we've seen posted, if they had found something they would have continued searching for several hours to misdirect the media.

YES, I agree! This totally makes sense! Thank you!

They may have continued searching for several hours and then stopped the search, so we can't assume that wasn't done.

OMG...This stuff about the carseat. This is the first I've heard of it. Am I way behind the times? Do most people here know about this???

The carseat came up in discussion early in the case as LE said Caylee didn't die in her carseat. There was speculation that Casey might have left Caylee in her carseat in the car and Caylee died of the heat. But it was pointed out that if that had happened, dogs would have hit on the carseat and they didn't.

Two dogs participated in the search of the Anthony backyard, and both alerted to the same three locations in the yard. The dogs and their handlers were from two different jurisdictions and the searches were independent of each other.

One dog alerted on the trunk of Casey's car, and specifically the right rear side of the trunk.

Me too, Patty! this is the exact wording per msm: (the TES spokesperson said) "there is a big development to come that will surprise us all" meaning it will surprise TES as well. It does not state when it will happen or even the nature of it. Just that it will surprise everyone other than LE who know it.

I think it will hinge on the California trip...but that is just my opinion.

Me too. Maybe MH is the biological father and that is why they are going to meet with him. Maybe they are going to give him the info on Caylee since the Anthiny's can't be trusted, as their main concern is KC. Maybe everyone knew who the father was already. Not sure just speculating.

Wasn't her carseat found in the car that was towed? I'm sure that's what I read.

Yes, the carseat was in the car. It was felt by many here that Caylee's carseat being in the car was an ominous sign.

This makes a lot of sense. That night when LP first stated about the $50,000 reward was the same night, I believe that we had them both in chat (LP & TP). My one question posed to TP was, if someone comes forward with information and takes him LP on the reward, even though HE said no questions asked, would LE want to question him or the person, if that happened, and he said yes.
